I found this rather interesting specimen today. http://gondracorn.deviantart.com/

He is obsessed with finding someone to make a plush for him

The plush is of some creature that he had a dream about five years ago, and likes to go off on incredibly long winded comments about the dream in question:

He routinely pesters various plush-makers on dA to make his item:

He has been on this 'quest' for years, and wants his plush to be of professional quality, with absolutely no mistakes: http://forum.deviantart.com/community/life/1687887/

He seems to believe that he will be able to find someone to make this huge-ass plush for just 200 dollars.

Recently, he's been saying that he's 'gone suicided', and is apparently supposed to be in prison:

Considering all of that, all I can say is that this guy needs help.

"She was the last of her kind, but not like Draco from Dragonheart."

>last of her kind
>not like Draco

This person has seen Dragonheart, right?
That person may of heard of Dragonheart, maybe even reading a Wikipedia article of it.

That thing's actually really cute. I kind of want one, too. Not enough to suicided over it, though.

This, I think, is the sort of person who would benefit a lot from learning to do something themselves. If your standards are that high, and this is literally the only creature you'll ever love, surely it's worth learning sewing and pattern-making skills? Yes, both of these things are art forms and are difficult, but if it's that important to you, you have literally the rest of your life to work on improving your craft. I don't feel like having a crush/preoccupation/whatever with a fictional being is inherently bad, except that people tend to use it as a way to avoid having to do anything in reality. I became much more mentally healthy around the same time I stopped obsessing over random characters and decided I was actually going to write a novel and actually do something to bring a character I loved into reality.

Also, people can and do charge $200 for much smaller custom plushies. I'm pretty sure just the materials alone for this thing would cost in that range.

Buying a plushie of the size this guy wants is pretty much akin to ordering a custom fursuit, but then having it stuffed with polyester instead of wearing it. It's not unheard of, but you're essentially paying someone to make something that takes about the same amount of time and materials as a full body suit. The estimates he's seeing in the ranges of $2,000 are fairly practical for a quality product plus god knows how much stuffing material that'll need to go into it.

Someone did suggest that he try making the plush himself, his parents aren't onboard with the idea. If their only reason for being against the idea is that they think he's too old for a toy, they're kind of being dipshits. But, if they are trying to get him to stop obsessing over this thing to the unhealthy extent he is, I can see the logic.

Lol @ the fact that he can't sew one because his parents aren't okay with it, but then admits they still wouldn't be okay with him buying one.

(Not gonna lie, I agree with his parents. Sort of. Wanting a life-size plush is a really strange thing to do as an adult. On the other hand, if they're just getting angry with him over symptoms like that and not worrying about his actual apparent mental illness, that's pretty poor parenting.)

I am getting sick of all these faggots defrauding social security. Sorry but if you can post on the internet you can do work from home call support or something. Job creation has been outpaced by new people on SSDI for over 5 years and is unsustainable. I hope you worker bees out there plan for your own retirement and be sure to thank your parents and grandparents for leaving you with nothing.

This is actually pretty depressing. The guy has some obvious mental problems, as evidenced by the horror vaccui going on in those super specific notes and the intensity of this obsession.

Yes, how dare a man who at a glance appears to be severely mentally ill fraud the system because he's perfectly capable of typing, even if his typing shows that his mind is all over the place and probably wouldn't last very long in a normal job.

I would not be surprised if this dude had schizophrenia. Not in the slightest.

How old is this guy, and what is his affliction?

I'm certainly not one to judge a persons hobbies, buy spending thousands of dollars on a plush toy when you're on social security is crazy. I do understand why he wants to order one instead of dealing with his parents while he tries to sew one though.

Ever see that special 'Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real'? That was really good.

Well, he wants to spend thousands of dollars on this thing his parents probably won't let him have, but he can't because nobody has agreed to it 'cause he goes about it like "WILL YOU MAKE THIS FOR ME IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT I HAVE THIS THING WITH THESE SUPER SPECIFIC DETAILS KTHNX". So no money is even being wasted here, especially since he's going to jail.

I admit, I am very curious about this guy, though.

Ja. I agree. I've seen custom sewn life-sized MLP:FIM plushes go for around the $2-3K mark.

I can only think of one "stuffing material" that he likely wants in it... :cryblood:

I have to agree that he does seem very mentally ill. It takes more than just the ability to type to keep down a job.

I have no issue with people on welfare using their income (in part, after bills have been paid) on recreational stuff. Handicapped and elderly and sick people need recreation too. However, spending thousands of dollars at a time on anything other than living necessities does not sit right with me. That said, he's never going to get that money together and he clearly doesn't understand he'd need at least 3k to realistically get this done so it's a moot point.

I can't imagine what he's going to jail for. I'm genuinely surprised that he leaves the house.

This one fur I used to know was into plushophilia and ended up having a life-size plushie made... complete with a "strategically placed hole"... and the final bill was $2,500. It would have cost so much to ship the damned thing that he drove out with a pickup truck and a tarp to go get it himself. After all that and it's literally just a glorified sex toy. I mean, I guess I get the appeal, but that's an awful lot of money for a Fleshlight mount.

Also, I never handled his plushies when I visited him, just on principle. I know not all of them are for "that", but I took no chances. :cryblood:
