Thank you! I didn't realize if it'd be bad, there's been a few projects reviving it, I have one revived project on my phone and it works very well.

Yeah as i get older I have become more of a jew generally, and spiteful one at that who would rather give my money to a bum on the street than to google/youtube or any other shitty tech company. that said, i watch/listen to prob hundreds of youtube videos each month. Just learning how to do shit like build/lace/true a motorcycle wheel prob had was 15+ videos this month. Being able to not have to ever see any ads on my phone/computer ever or have to fuck with anything to get PiP/background sound is a luxury worth the shekels for me. What is crazy to me is people who pay for netflix every month when they can just torrent the very few good netflix shows. The most mind boggling are the people who pay for the lowest tier hulu subscription, which makes you watch ads anyway. holy fuck.

Why not just use Brave browser instead of paying for a service? I use it on my computer and phone, the latter which I basically just use as my portable Youtube player. The only ads you should ever see are the notification ones which you get a bit of crypto for (they're known as BAT which if you see near the bottom right hand side of any page on Kiwi Farms is something that you can donate to Null) through the browser which you can opt out of easily if you don't want them.

I completely agree. I've never used any of these services, and I torrent everything. I've offered to show people how to use torrent clients, but for some reason still people (young people at that) often think that torrenting is going to give you 50 viruses and blow up your computer or something. Too many people are really stupid as shit with anything computer related, it's ridiculous. I'm by no means a computer wizard, but torrenting is something that anyone should be able to get down within 10 minutes, if that. I guess maybe some people watch TV shows and movies on their phones, which is a whole other weird thing to me.

I use brave on my home desktop but it’s an older iMac so I do most of my browsing on my work laptop which won’t allow me to install brave. I use brave exactly for the reason you mentioned, having heard about it while listening to mati. Just tried it out on mobile (iPhone) and i don’t think it can allow me to play the videos in the background, which is a big deal to me because I listen to videos more than watch and do other shit on my phone while they play. But maybe I’m a retard and there’s a way to do that?

I stopped after college for like ten years and just started torrenting again. I’ve had no issues with viruses either, just one cunty e-mail from my ISP is he I was seeding some newer movies. speaking of torrents, does anybody have the one that Godwinson has referred to which includes a bunch of his old videos? He said it was on the Pirate Bay in a stream awhile ago but I can’t find it.

Maybe there's a problem with Brave specifically for the iPhone since on Android I can 100% promise that you can play videos in the background or if you're doing something else in a different tab or even if your screen display is turned off.

I did just check the settings on my phone and while I don't remember having to manually do this, try the following on yours:

>go to Settings (located after clicking the three vertical dots icon at the bottom right hand side of Brave's taskbar)
>scroll down to "Background video playback" (it'll have a small blurb about it being experimental) and switch it on if it isn't by default

If that's not even an available option on the iOS version then I guess they need to fix that.

There is an option to "pop out" the video player, which allows for background playback. It's right next to the "X" button in the upper left hand corner when you maximize video.
