I'd say odds are she (and most if not all of the people in the movie) came from the same church the Tesch's attend. It's probably as simple as Gloria's dad getting permission from the pastor one Sunday to stand up and say that they need people for their movie, some bullshit about how it'll get the word of God out, promise money and fame for a few day's work. And now that it's been long finished and the Tesch's are most certainly not going to get any money out of it (let alone any positive sort of fame) they're starting to realize they've been had.
 
The irony of Gloria fucking Tesch white-girl rapping about 'them basic chicks' is so delicious I can't stand it. She is almost literally the definition of 'basic bitch'.

Can't wait for her new testament to the butchery of the English language!

The trademark registration is expiring.

Basically, United States has this weird system where you can't sue anyone for copyright infiringements unless your copyright is registered with the US Copyright Office.
The copyright you have on any creative work does automatically apply, however. If you create anything substantially non-trivial at all, it's yours, and will be yours until 70 years after your death (plus however many years Walt Disney Corporation cares to lobby that shit).
Tesch's copyright isn't expiring. It used to be that if your copyright registration expired, you'd irrevocably lose your copyright (just look up some of the famous pulp-era authors like H.P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard, who messed this up). Nowadays, however? Nope. Your copyright stays with you until you die. And after that, until Disney stops giving a shit, which is never.

Also, trademarks are completely different. They only basically stay registered for as long as you keep them registered, and have absolutely no bearing on copyright whatsoever.

I think Gerry's fake publishing company shut down when he went bankrupt, but now she thinks it will be just as easy to get published by a real company since she had everything handed to her. But when a real publisher sees her broken English manuscript it will be promptly thrown in the trash.
 
At best I think she should pick up a Pen name and take a few writing courses- there's a lot of them that they offer for free online. At least then she can make the broken English not so... broken.

She also would need to pay money to get a decent editor for her works.

Nah, I think there is a better explanation. Trump exudes an aura that is irresistible to aspiring Eastern European models, just look at his marriage history. The Slavic blood runs thick in Gloria, so you can do the math.

One of the best things about the Maradonia books hitting the interwebs was the fallout. The endless Yahoo Answers questions regarding "who is the youngest author in the world?" Her online mag Glory Extra. The sock puppetry on LiveJournal and YouTube and amazon... Copy pasted testimonials raving about how 'donia is not just a book - it's a lifestyle!! The sheer bravado claiming it was going to be made into a movie AND a theme park. (Amazed we got the movie before they ran out of cash) Of course, as well as the written sporkings and video beat-downs.

The whole thing was a 'Glori-ous' mess and it was amazing. No doubt if her new book is ever released somehow sporks must follow. But there will never be another Maradonia Saga...
