I don't know if it's the norm in the US or not, but I don't care, having a "honeymoon fund" is the tackiest thing ever.

Also, Sarican is not a Russian surname. I think it might be Turkish?

It sounds Armenian and lots of people of armenian descent live in Russia.

I've heard it's gotten pretty popular in the past few years. The idea of giving gifts has gone away and they're asking for cash or, like Glo Glo and Niko, ask for a honeymoon fund.

And yes. It is tacky but then so are Glo Glo and Niko.

it's more a Asian tradition (red envelopes), but it's growing a lot in the US. No one wants to be that guy who bought a shitty breadmaker, but everyone respects $300.

As for Uber-Dude, he's Turkish. A search on Youtube for Sarican brought up a bunch of Turkish videos. Happy Green Card Alex!

Hey, do you guys remember that horrible, ugly, unflattering, ill-fitting monstrosity of an 80s throwback that Gloria wore for that one shoot?
This one?

Yeah, she got married in that.

Oh Gloria, sweetie, at least TRY to make this look like a real wedding/marriage. Those immigration officials don't fuck around and that dress just screams "I found this at the thrift store, now let's get this sham marriage started"

Eh, Gloria's vain and loves dressing up. The reason she's wearing that is that she's got terrible taste and thinks it looks good, not because she doesn't care.

Her father's shoes I have no excuse for...

They may be leftovers from his career as frolicking guitar-strumming musical evangelist. He may be wearing them out of nostalgia.
(Which still doesn't excuse him, you'd think he'd have some basic idea about what kinds of shoes you wear yor your daughter's wedding. Seriously, couldn't someone tell him?? He'd have been more fashionable had he gone barefoot.)

She still seems to be on good terms with her dad, despite rumors on this forum that he was abusive. That doesn't mean he wasn't, but they're still speaking.

I guess with Gloria and Marina living with their new husbands, Gerry is left alone in his bachelor apartment as he desperately tries to come up with another get rich quick scheme.

Fixed.

Congratulations, Gloria. Death to your boots, Gerry.

Did anyone else watch Maradonia and think, "That person could have potential in a better movie"? I thought Nishant Gogna (Abaddon) and Courtney McArdle (Alana Terrence) had the most talent, though everyone was obviously bogged down by the terrible... everything. Though, I'd say every other actor's abilities matched the film, especially Gustavo Perez (King Apollyon). I mean, there's a reason he's been trying since the 70s and hasn't gotten anywhere.

It's all about "why 9/11!?" girl. She's got chops.

I suppose this is supposed to be the teaser for the next installment. Are Leviathan and his friend who deep-throats him big players?

Spoiler alert, this character never appears in the book, and judging by the rest of the film, I suspect that this plot thread will be dropped, never to be picked up again.

He should have GONE FOR THE KILL!

There was a snake that Joey beheads because it wouldn't let them pass. Maybe that character became Leviathan, but the whole 7 bridges plot is discarded anyway.

I'm just wondering where all the money went. The movie was filmed in a swamp with amateur actors, and the special effects are public access level. We know a lot of people didn't get paid, either. I would say it was a money laundering scheme, but we know Gerry's broke.

Also, the ending credits song should have been Wild For the Night (cover) or Convertible by Goldilocks.

Judging by the quality of this film, I'd surmise that it would have cost about $5,000. However, word is that it was within the hundreds of thousands.

By comparison, the movie Hush cost $70,000 and Before I Disappear is rumored to have cost about $200,000. You can go a long ways with small budgets. I'm not saying this movie didn't cost something in the neighborhood of hundreds of thousands, but I am confident that it had complete mismanagement and that the vast majority of its financing was piss in the wind.
