Yeah, I'm not sure why 'Marina controls Gloria's social media' has become canon. Gloria's instagram in particular seems entirely consistent with both what we've seen of Gloria and also with what vapid twenty-something girls post on social media. I think it's pretty evident when Marina is on the scene because the writing comes across as something an eastern european woman who doesn't speak perfect English would post.

It seems kind of strange to me how the view of Gloria is slowly morphing into a Venus Angelic type hostage mother situation. It's not like Marina has consistently inserted herself into every aspect of her life to a degree where it's highly noticeable to online spectators like it was with Venus. Gloria works outside the house, has siblings involved in her life and goes on trips without her parents. Her dad pushes her into writing and her mother clearly has some involvement with certain social media things (like a couple of galleries on facebook, which are also tied to her art business), but I don't get 'puppet' vibes from the situation to nearly the degree that other kiwis have. Maybe I'm just not good at picking up on it.

In my opinion Marina has successfully raised Gloria into a clone of herself rather than actually pulling any strings at this point. Gloria is now what Margo wished she could have done to Venus.

Marina certainly controls some aspects of Gloria's life (they still live together and Marina lives off of Gloria).
I'm not sure who put the whole UberScrn situation together.
It would make sense if Marina did that with some sort of goal in mind (like getting married), but I cannot for the life of me understand why Gloria would do this.
It is pretty obvious that she is repulsed by him and posting pictures of their "loving relationship" on social media is actually hurting her "Gloria Stern" persona, because her "fans" are mostly thirsty loveshies who don't want to see "their girlfriend" with another man (unless they are cucks).
There is a reason why celebrities (especially how young ones) like to keep their relationships secret, it adversely effects their fanbase if the 50 year old autist can't fantasise about beeing with them if they are already taken.

I'm not so sure about this. It's kind of subtle, but the vast majority of Glo-Glo's social media presence serves two purposes: (i) to continue to build the "Gloria Tesch" brand; and (ii) to showcase Glo-Glo's Lifestyle of the (not so) Rich and (wannabe) Famous. I don't think Glo-Glo's bright enough to do this on her own and, as others have pointed out, all of her photos seem to be set up by someone who knows something about composition, and Marina is an artist. To me, it smacks of a long con that (more than likely) came from the minds of Marina and Gunter.

Here are two examples:
1. Your typical vapid 20-something Instagrammer posts a picture of her and her boyfriend: "OMG you guyz we are like soooo totally in love..." When Glo-Glo does the same thing, it's a planned and posed photo op that is less about the boyfriend and more about the car he drives, the "amazing" places he's taking her, and Glo-Glo's body and/or outfit.
2. Remember that photo from a couple of weeks ago when Glo-Glo went to some music festival? Your 20-something Instagrammer would post a picture and say: "At the WhateverFest. OMG you guyz beer and music and 420. Wooooo!" Glo-Glo's purpose for the pic was to try to convince people that she was in the VIP section of the festival when, in reality, she was at the fringes of the crowd and far from the stage.

Now, obviously, "Marina controls Gloria's social media" is not canon. It's nothing more than supposition based on facts. But ... there are a lot of facts. (Full disclosure: It took a long time to bring me over to this side. @January Cyst and a couple of other folks made a bunch of posts that convinced me.) Also, keep in mind that Team Tesch has been trying to establish the "Gloria Tesch" brand since long before Glo-Glo was able to make decisions for herself. Think about the early Maradonia stuff, and the #1/#2/#3 best-sellers at the bookstore, and the staged book signings, and the paid slots on the radio and public access TV.

I think it's pretty evident when Marina is on the scene because the writing comes across as something an eastern european woman who doesn't speak perfect English would post.
I completely agree. I've seen Marina post on Glo-Glo's YouTube and her stuff truly reads as if it was written by an Eastern European who barely speaks english. I'm going to assume that Glo-Glo writes her own posts under Marina's tutelage.

Also, if there was some kind of ploy going on, why would Gloria have dumped the (actually pretty damn hot) music producer, DJ Pezz for the (actually ugly as mortal sin) Uberscrn?
My opinion? Glo-Glo was using DJ PezDispenser to get her "Convertible" song and video produced on the cheap. That was it.

Now, why did she dump his ass for Uberscrn? Again, it's my opinion, but if you're trying to create an obscenely rich bae for Glo-Glo, what's more believable -- some third-tier techno producer no one's ever heard of (from a professional standpoint) or some tabula rasa who comes out of nowhere and is willing to pose with Glo-Glo in front of expensive cars and on boats/at beaches/etc? (And, remember, before DJ PezBoy the previous bae was some med school student who lived in an obscenely huge house who was never even named. Lies are always easier to tell when there's nothing to investigate.)

ETA: Med School Boy did have a name. I never knew that. My bad.

Off Gloria? Like, off Gloria's Hooters (or what's the name of that boob restaurant) salary? Because they must have lost more on her writing and music "careers" than they made, and 99% of her modeling career is what is called "time for prints", i.e. posing for free.

I also think it could be the DJ doing the dumping, but who knows.

If you read the article about the whole "mortgage scam", the reporter states that neither Marina nor Dr. Gerry have held a job in years.
Marina and Gloria were registered at the same adress at that time (Gerry wasn't, probably because he had several domestic abuse cases against him).
So judging by that information, Marinas only income is her "great gallery" and possibly the odd grift on the side.
We know that Gloria is working as a model for magazines/websites and also as a waitress.

Being nauseating and disingenuous is the opposite if relationship goals.
...okay, maybe all couples are a little nauseating, but really, is this how these two think relationships are? Saccharine and completely impersonal? This does not smack of an inside joke so much as it does of two people who have no real chemistry trying their damndest to fake it til they make it.

I dunno, I'm baffled and intrigued by the walking romcom trainwreck that is the GloScrnbot.
Screams of sorority girl overdoing it in her first relationship as a sophomore.

It feels like I'm reading a 45-year-old screenwriters idea of "teenage love" - I could imagine seeing this inane prop-conversation on a phone in in some movie.

I'm more interested in how the men who used to post very...enthusiastic comments on her pictures earlier on reacted to Gloria being very visibly non-boyfriend-free.

I actually have less of a problem with Glo-Glo acting like a 20-something twit trying to pretend she's in love because, well, that's pretty much her schtick. The really embarrassing part is that the Uberman is close to his mid-30's, and he's sending out cutesy texts with lots of emoji icons? As other folks have already pointed out, this feels completely scripted (and not even well scripted, at that).

Me, too! If this whole thing really is a relationship of convenience, and if Marina and/or Gunter aren't pulling the strings, then who is?

Pretty accurate.

Can someone maybe who has lived it explain why some young women go through a pretentious spirit guru poet phase?
It's not exclusive to young women. I think it's more prevalent among young men - see all the undergrads who think they're the next Jim Morrison or Charles Bukowski.
