I'll never forget Maradonia's goal against England in '86. Thinking about it still brings tears of happiness to my eyes.

You had better not be talking about the cheating cunt goal there!

 Did he fuck cheat. It was clearly a perfectly executed header. If it was anything else the ref would have caught it. If England had got to that semi I reckon they'd have took Belgium.

The real question is, how many did her friends and family buy, and how many actual people were duped into purchasing them?

That is a good question. Nowadays with the free sample you can read on Amazon for each book, plenty of people get an advance warning if they read the sample. I know a couple of people actually purchased the book in its entirety for the lulz so they could pick it apart.

Gloria was only 13 when her first book came out. I sure as hell know that I was nowhere near ready to publish a book when I was her age. If I ever have any kids, and they want to be writers, I would refuse to allow them to publish until they're 18, to make sure that they have some time to mature and refine their writing. If they showed refusal to listen to critique and feedback, I would take away their computers so they couldn't write. I get so pissed off at parents who encourage their kids to do anything and praise their effort, no matter how crappy the end product is. (ahemChris'sartahem)

I wonder if I'm the only one who is irked by the series title: Maradonia and...

The name implies a character called Maradonia and the fact that Maradonia is the place is totally retarded. After watching the trailer for her movie I wonder if she's a Depeche Mode and He Man fan?

The idea of Maradonia bugs me in general. She's treating it like a Narnia, with a cave acting as the wardrobe that transports them to Maradonia, but the map (yes, there's a map, I'll scan it later when I'm on a computer) makes it look like it's a big physical stretch of land next to their hometown. So I don't know if it's an entirely new world, a parallel world in another dimension, or what.

TBH I don't think Ms Tesch herself even knows...

I saw the map on the film trailer: Lake Lagoon  WOW lots of thought went into that name. I've never read Tolkien but I can see where she got her ideas from. I loved The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as a kid and the blatant rip offs from that series are really annoying. She could barely deviate from the name Narnia in naming her land. Seeing the TM on the word Maradonia on the book was quite funny, like anyone would dare rip off that tripe...

Okay, as basically promised, here's the map.

Note the misspelling of "Oceanside" as "Oceniside." And how they didn't size it right, so the border is right up against some of the words.
