It's not about justification, it's about political power. Is there still that much political power in the US government? That, I cannot say.
The only saving grace and protection against government overreach is the fact that Americans own guns. There was a story a few years back of some farmer getting his beef confiscated for not paying some gay grazing loicense. Fortunately for him a bunch of other armed and angry farmers showed up and threated to turn in into a bloodbath so the feds had to run away with their tail between their legs and give him his cattle back.

I seem to recall that episode of Married With Children. Didn't know that Al had a cousin Clive.

What are the actual odds of that though? How does anyone justify deploying the army on the continental US?

Again, you mean.

How does anyone justify deploying the army on the continental US... again.

They'll do it the same way they did it last time. Talk about equality, how the poor widdle innocent blacks in California and New York are suffering without their kale and quinoa salads, and how it's not fair that the white farmers in the flyover states are refusing to farm at a loss so the states that have price controlled corn and wheat goods can keep eating (without paying a fair market value), how we all have to pull together to get through this (but the blue states don't have to make any changes, that's just crazy talk) and how the federal government's central planning economic division has decreed the crops must be grown and seized so well, get growing. Or else. (Bonus: The corn and wheat will be shipped to China instead of staying in America. Can't let our masters starve!)

Remember, if you make decisions that the elites in California and New York and DC don't like, your decisions are wrong and must be corrected. And every regulation and every law comes at the implicit understanding that if you don't obey, the state (as defined as: the email caste) will kill you.

So uh...are we seeing the last drops of copium being used up before the economy plunges off a cliff?

Found the story after a bit of googling

This Bundy guy has brass balls I tell you hwat
If you follow up on the people who participated afterwards, most of them were either killed by Fed deathsquads or thrown in prison by the Feds over vague charges like "stopping a federal agent from doing their duty." Also you have some participation from well known assets like Ray Epps, who was kicked out of the standoff by Clive Bundy personally because he was advocating borderline psychotic shit just like on Jan 6th.

Yeah, I was going to say, the most recent thing I heard about Bundy was the state of Idaho literally kidnapping one of his grandkids and arresting him when he went to the hospital to protest. Although I'm sure there's more to it than that, and I'm equally sure the state has some sort of self serving "think of the children" narrative.

He embarrassed the hell out of them at the BLM standoff. The only reason they didn't ruby ridge him at the time was there were too many eyes on it.

I can't help but notice that more and more news outlets are reporting on the incoming famine that is a result from the total global collapse of the fertilizer trade. This guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBJ9yrkeKYc does a pretty good job explaining the underlying causes of why food is going to be a problem in the US in the near term, probably Q4 when the harvests come in and they're far smaller than they are expected to be. He also talks about prior examples, including the recent catastrophe of the "Arab Spring" which was largely kicked off by a massive spike in food prices.

Similarly, food shortages were a major factor in the explosion in illegal immigration from Mexico -- when ethanol-heavy gasoline was first mandated in the USA, it drove the price of corn through the roof for a while, which caused shortages of affordable food in the poorest, most rural parts of Mexico, which traditionally have a corn-heavy diet. Loads of the rural poor migrated to major cities in Mexico or across the US border, as they could no longer make enough money to eat if they stayed in their countryside villages. Coincidentally, they're banging the drum for importing cheap labor again, per this crosspost from the Global Supply Chain Crisis megathread...

Ignore the flood of illegals we need more of them . Oh no we going to have to pay more

One of the things I don’t get is how China has massive food stores but it’s citizens are still almost starving. Granted they’re not allowing delivers due to covid lockdowns but it’s bizarre they didn’t at least plan ahead considering the mandates of testing of millions of residences twice a day.

And if China is still pulling covid lockdown shit in cities that’s going to make things worse down stream supply chain wise globally

They don't give a shit about the plebs.

Those food stores are for the Ruling Class, who need the nutrition because they are the ruling class who must lead people through this mass starvation that they caused.

But you’d think the Chinese would remember their own history and realize this is what has repeatedly caused their own civil wars throughout history and they’re long overdue for one

Man if only...someone of some Ruling Class didn't destroy all their history when he took power.

Because Communism relies on shortages for the masses, and TPTB are keeping them desperate for basic things like, oohh, i dunno, a balanced health diet.

Communism is a fucking lie as it's all about keeping those who do the most in the bare minimum to keep them producing the most for the tiny % at the top, who take the majority of resources and products of Labour.
