So it turns out putting a chip in your truck to mandate compliance with some hippy emissions bullshit wasn't such a good idea.

Too bad you can't just take a screwdriver and pop the chip out. How's progress on that DEF Chip Emulator? Have they been sued into oblivion by everyone yet?

Everything I have seen from the last couple years is that the elites have thrown in the towel on kicking the can any further. They are preparing for an imminent currency reset.

They can't. It is too far gone to fix.

Volker Era rates wouldn't cut it.
These faggots have lowered actual working people down by at least 10%, increased the cost of everything by 30% (20% more for 15% less), and then thought saying "it's okay" for the past two years was a good idea. Then sticking their heads down into the sandpit that is twitter to delude themselves over it.

While everyone else deludes and blames each other for this fuckup.
No amount of fixing will save anything anymore. It's just a downward spiral now.

There is a ray of light, as I see it.

While everyone is either too preoccupied to come up for air and see what is going on, or too delusional about the state of the economy to believe it, it leaves opportunity for those who can see the future. More millionaires were created as a result of the Great Depression than in any other period in American history.

I have moved on from my screaming from the rooftops to friends, family, acquaintances, coworkers, about the shit going down and now I am in self-preservation and wealth generation mode. Also gearing up for another decade of friends whining at me about how "lucky" I am.

Remove the restriction and have the chips hotwired.

It ain't rocket science. Does it use an actual chemical detector? If not, replace it with something harmless for the engine.
My car is diesel and I did this. It has a encrypted ECU so I had to mail it off to a company that specializes in hacking them, but it's totally doable. They overnighted it each way and I don't even think they charged me for it (it was kind of a fuckup on their end since my car is a 2016 and they didn't realize the newer models are encrypted and wouldn't work with the programmer they gave me).

Even assuming the encryption was bulletproof, you can always replace an entire ECU with aftermarket, there are plenty of options available. I don't see the DEF shortage as being a fatal blow, just a obnoxious speed bump that didn't need to happen this way.

Any sensible goverment would just revoke it, temporarily if you are a filthy leftie ((politician)) until it is over.

Problem solved.

Fuck, I was worrying about this since I think late 2018 or even early into 2020. I was worried that something terrible is about to happen and it looks like it's about to come to pass. The worst part is everyone seems apathetic to what's happening. All of this feels like some kind of concentrated effort to utterly cripple the world somehow.

I know it sounds crazy, but something just hasn't sat right since the CCP Virus came knockin'. I can't be the only one who thinks or feels that there's something far darker below the surface that everyone isn't seeing... That this collapse of society and a growing concern that we're returning to a state of feudalism is by someone or something's design and not some coincidence or historical pattern; there's nothing natural about any of what's currently happening, or at least I hope I'm not the only one who thinks none of this is normal.

Humanity may be a stubborn creature, but when this bubble bursts nothing will be the same anymore. And I'm scared that something worse will be coming even after that...

Please stay safe out there, all of you. I worry the worst is yet to come.

Blogpost but fuck it:

Renewed my car insurance yesterday. I bought my car for £1000. It's a 10++ year old car. Insurance said I should change the value of my car from £1k that I had it to last year, to a minimum of £2k as that's now the list price.

When da fuq do cars appreciate in value, let alone double in value, let alone double in value on a ten-a-penny car that's almost older than facebook?

If this is a sign of things to come, then fuck are we fucked. :story:

There have been people here in the US that have received calls from dealerships offering to buy back their F150's at MSRP. its crazy,

I saw a few posts about it but figured it was either American only, or local to American states. My car is a bog standard model with no extras and the lowest powered engine available in this make/model. For it to double in (guide) price, is just mental to me. I'm thinking about doubling my stores of food and materials because of it.

TFW youre worried about being stabbed while trading your chris chan silver for a loaf of moldy bread *sigh*
Invest in the metals of copper, lead and brass. Lol. Though the stabbing while waiting in a breadline is a british pasttime already in London.

They offered me more than the MSRP on my 2019 F-150 because I had so few miles on it. I would have come out with my loan cleared, my last two down payments on my vehicles and maybe an extra 1k in net profit if I had taken it.

No you cannot "always replace an ECU with aftermarket", there has to be an aftermarket ECU already made for your vehicle, which means there has been enough demand on that platform for long enough that someone went to the trouble to pin everything out, troubleshoot, and get the fucker made. Usually only "tuner" cars with a history of modification will have ready-made aftermarket ding dongs available for everything. Arguably you can also "piggyback" a controller on top of the factory ECU but in practice this still requires a lot of effort and may not function correctly.

I dunno what kind of aftermarket computers are available for big trux but I suspect that (like passenger vehicles) some will have the option and some won't. The newer shit gets the harder it is to find workarounds, and coincidentally this problem mostly affects newer trucks.

Demand, like an entire line of dead trucks bringing shipping to a standstill? I do not see that being a problem. There is an entire industry around mail-order PCB fabrication and there are enough EEs out there that can do this sort of work that it's not that big of a hurdle. The biggest challenge would be the control circuitry for common-rail diesel injectors, but it's nothing that couldn't be done by a number of the custom tuning shops out there.
