I found an old Gameoverse Facebook page for anyone who wanted to see what this project might've looked like before Glitch picked it up.
Arin was planned to voice this character for a decade. There's an irony in how he actively participates in Sonic and furry shit while pretending to be above them and asserting that their stories shouldn't be serious or sincere.

The scene where there's sudden therapy-speak "I know you've been through a lot!", etc. reminded me that an unfortunate number of indie cartoons are just low rent Steven Universe clones. Well, lower rent.

Also am I the only one that rolled my eyes when it was revealed that for whatever reason the planet goes apeshit when they just tell them that completing the game destroys the planet?
It really feels like someone randomly brought it up while they were writing the story and they somehow hadn't thought of such an easy solution before >So uhhh why don't they just TELL them not to complete the game?

Yeah they could write around it so easily too. It doesn't even have to be naivety. Hell they could have some interesting conflict that way.

I mean don't get me wrong, OOT is not perfect and absolutely has some problems but Arin addresses almost none of them, he just bitches about how he lacks object permanence.

It was a lot more excusable back then though, because
The episodes were very short, so unless you're binge watching, you wouldn't have to listen to it for long
The old GameOverse was far less serious, so at least there is grounds to argue that it's a goofy voice in a goofy cartoon

It's not very excusable now, because:
The episodes are about 30 minutes long, and I assume it will continue to be like that in the full series.
The new GameOverse is trying to be more serious what with the trauma dumping and the more serious storyline. Flappers squeal is VERY out of place.
Budget. Specifically the extreme amount of it coming from the pockets of the Australian government through Glitch.
Of all the changes that was made to make the series more appealing to the general audience, it's baffling that Flappers' voice was not one of them. I'd blame Ross, but something tells me he just hired some other guy to be the voice director and let him handle all of that so Ross himself could focus on other stuff. Who is the voice director of GameOverse anyways?
