Just finished watching the Gameoverse while reading everyone's reactions. I wish we didn't have yet another "this is what happens when the hero wins" situation so soon. Why are the villains collecting the life force of the planets? Sounded like the big bad is doing all of this to prevent any future planets lost. Why bother revealing that Kit's final boss was alive? That seems more like an end of season 1 stinger. If Flapper will be part of the team, why give him the annoying Newgrounds animation voice? Sure I'll have more to think on as I reflect. Beyond all of that, seems like standard Glitch animation stuff.

Alright this explains a lot about why the dolphin fuck is part of the main cast, thanks.
But if that's the case and they're remaking Gameoverse to be more involved, why the fuck would you make the parody characters, made for a short parody, part of the main cast of a long-form series? By the looks of it they remade Learnosaurus to be more involved, but we come back to that dolphin fuck and how he's really just annoying and if anything is just there to make more parallels to Kit's situation.
Which leads way to another sperg complaint of mine: if he's there to help Kit draw more parallels, then why even include the scene where it's just a fast-paced, goofy romp through the underwater village, and then suddenly go 0-100 through Kat's PTSD? I could argue it was to segway to the scene for "hey, what happens when you tell someone that their world is gonna die", but considering there's already a lot of unanswered questions, something like that could be saved for the next episode.
I don't even know why I'm so invested in complaining about this. I guess it's because I see the potential, but they're dropping it so fucking hard here and shoving in too many things at once. It's something that could be great, and you can tell how great the concept of it is when they're dropping the ball this hard but still manage to make it at least decent.
This whole series would have been better off as an actual video game series if it's been taking 13 years to produce.
Watched it.
Where is the joke Dobson
Is the joke that happiness is impossible nowadays and so you have to just lie down and rot?
Why the fuck do you think this is a meaningful story to tell and not just misery porn
Sorry no jokes, we have to be weirdly quirky and then jump straight to serious PTSD and then back to quirky with absolutely no breathing room.
The whole Dolly Dimpley shit from the Smiling Friends fandom kinda shines a light on how to possibly explain whatever the hell Glitch or most small studio cartoons like to make nowadays for adventure shows, it's like a stereotype.

Did he just do character design or did he do any bgs?
It looks like it was just character designs bacun.jpg

I don't know what you're saying. How does professional shills editing an anime girl OC into footage have anything to do with anything.

Taking a concept, making it have to be weird and quirky on top of it to the point it feels forced, and then just out of nowhere when you least expect it, "hey here's a serious plot out of nowhere but we'll also still be quirky".

They have to justify these characters being main characters but ends up in a way that is contrived.

The dinosaur is introduced as a dumb baby loser but in the span of 10 minutes he becomes the most intelligent person in the cast because "that's what i do, i learn", and it comes at the cost of Kit being retarded. The whole sequence is bizarre.

Dino points out flappers is doing errands. Kit has ptsd and ignores. *cut to flappers and villains*
Kit doesnt get info. dino asks if arin hanson knows a hero. They say flappers. *cut to flappers and villains*
Kit says they must find flapers. Flappers literally appears. She tries to grab paper and fail. Says the world will explode.
World crashes. Dino says she cant do that. "I had to do it" (no she didn't). Even the villain calls her retarded.
They're saved by some miracle (???). kit has that middle episode sad moment. Dino gives pep talk. We all good.

Like, if this show was consistent the Dino would reveal the truth and find out the hard way this breaks the world, but somehow he already knows that (despite previously having no idea how the game rules work), and it's kit, whose job is to save worlds, decides that this would totally be a valid strategy and totally not kill all of them for nothing. Flappers didn't even listen anyway.

Another thing is that Gobbles was saved by kit so that means his world was probably destroyed so why doesn't HE had trauma too? I guess he can't have trauma because we need someone to play therapist for kit and flappers. Does this show really need a second "kid that looks happy but is actually super traumatized"? Is this part of Glitch's contract or something?

Oh man, when fucking BLUESKY is clowning on you, that’s really a sign you’re an utter laughingstock.
Tbh while the whole swimsuit thing (I'm assuming that's what this is about) is obviously an attempt at goonerbait I definitely think people are overreacting, especially considering how the terminally online audience of Glitch is typically like. It's funny how everyone pretends to be a puritan when it's convenient.

I think there’s also some “ugh, every woman has the same body type!” accusations thrown in as well. It’s all very retarded.

Technically GAMEOVERSE was created like 12 years ago, so Pibby would be the extension.
Original gameoverse plot was nothing like pibby and was just the dinosaur being the straight man to a bunch of wacky game-hopping antics with the dolphin and kickflip mc'ollie.

I will say that, even though I do like the show and hope it gets greenlit for more, Arin does not need to be voicing two main characters. If Flapper stays on as a regular character, that is.
Nigga thinks he's toriyama

isn't pibby just a bunch of quirk chungus ocs going up against evil copyrighted characters? it felt like it was writen by a hack that has to rely on nostalgia and better characters so that he can show off how cool his ocs are because nobody gives a damn about them otherwise.

Fair, but it had aura and the main character's design is good, so it's superior. NYEH!
