"Girly" Video Games

I've reached the point in my simming that I want to start another legacy blog lol. I already have 5 chapters written, so we'll see. At the very least it got me to learn how to make poses, which is good since there is a huge dearth in mermaid poses in my opinion.

Not sure if I'll post it since while it doesn't dox me, I'm leery of the self-promo rules as well as unsure if enough people care. Last legacy blog fell through because I was too obsessive over numbers and with views never breaking more than 10 per post it made me down. I didn't have anyone in my friend group then that cared about that stuff (still don't, technically, but this time I dont care).

It's a Sims 3 Random Legacy, and I'll sort of be following the rules.

Edit: in retrospect not sure if this is the right thread for this post, but don't know where else to post it.
 
Anything that was on the barbie website, including the my scene games, anything on girls go games pre-elsagate or whatever - for some reason there was one avatar creator that was my favorite. I probably spent literal hours in that one specific creator. Any and all horse games. Anybody remember style savvy? There was also this salon game on DS that I think was actually made (read: sponsored) by redken. Think cooking mama but for hair - I was enamored.

Bella sara also had a chokehold on me. Way cheaper than webkinz, too.

Did anyone ever go on edheads? There was a knee replacement surgery game, a neurosurgery game where I think the goal was to put electrodes (?) into the brain to help a patient with Parkinson's? I dunno why I played those so much, but I did.
 
Well, I was gifted Disney Dreamlight Valley for Christmas in spite of my plans of not supporting Disney. lol. I started to play it this week.

The graphics and everything are really cute and it makes me want to continue playing and having fun with it ... But I'm honestly starting to get impatient with it. There's so many quests that just come at you all at once, and you have to finish them before you can start playing/customizing (which is the stuff that I like with these life sim games). Last night, I thought I was finishing up a quest, and then once the character told me I needed to "find more fragments of this other thing," I already felt burnout and just quit for the night.

I would be fine with these quests if the game didn't go about them in such a disorganized way. Literally, while you are in the middle of a quest, the game yells at you about another new quest. It's a constant "I'll have to get to that later!" loop.

That’s a big problem that I also have with the game. I played religiously for a while and made a ridiculous amount of money farming pumpkins. Bought pretty much everything I wanted and made it to the Beauty and the Beast storyline before I finally got burnt out on it all

And apparently a Hello Kitty game that’s supposed to be a lot like Animal Crossing came out today, I’m excited to dust off my Switch and give it a try (while my actual AC villagers are waiting for me to return so they can ask me why I’ve been gone so long 😢)

I haven't played Dreamlight Valley since I made my post on Sunday, lol. I've just gone back to Animal Crossing for the meantime (I have a second Switch and am finally grinding to make my second island look nice and all that jazz). I know that the game is almost 5 years old at this point and most gamers claim it as a dead game (which, yeah, it is at this point lol), but all of the island customizing + Happy Home Paradise with the leisurely pace just "gets" me. I guess the game just taps into my creative side and I have a blast just sitting back and making things look cute.

I've never been much of a Sanrio person (though I do think the Animal Crossing collab with the Sanrio-themed villagers and furniture sets are adorable), but if the new game is a lot like Animal Crossing, then I might check it out. Please let us know how it is! Hope it's fun!
 
I know minecraft is more gender neutral now but I've always hated playing with my brother or any man who just makes a giant box to put all their shit in while completely decimating the landscape. I make sure to build far, far away from them so I can have my nice little cabin without them lopping off mountains and leaving creeper holes outside their giant cobblestone cube. Live in a hole in the wall until you can build a respectable house in a decent area.

MySims has also come out on the switch, these guys don't know taco bell had it for free over a decade ago :smug: I had my disk still laying around and honestly I'm still enjoying it as much as I did when I was a kid despite all the negative reviews of it being tedious and clunky. Of course the controls are wonky, it's a bad port and you're better off pirating it for a DS emulator or PC.

I don't think I ever played that game, but you did remind me of a very similar group of games called Surgery Squad. These were realistic flash games of real life surgeries. I first found one on one of those girl flash game sites and went to their website to play all the rest. This is pretty surprising, as I was the type of kid to faint every time I got my blood taken. But I learned a lot about surgery and the body - what cauterizing and sterilizing are, what carpal tunnel is, what cataracts are.

I would also like to formally recommend Red Dead Redemption II as a girly game, since I haven't seen it here explicitly. It has a rich, cinematic, emotional narrative as well as a big, beautiful open world to explore with lots of fun collectibles and things you can customize. I dressed and accessorized my Arthur to the point of near faggotry, and I got him fat because you can and it's funny. And of course the horses. The horse animations and models are really great, and there are many beautiful breeds and coat styles. It also comes with Red Dead Online, where you can customize a female character now with new female-exclusive items, and there are lots of RDO-exclusive horse breeds.

I got an ad recently for an upcoming indie game, Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori. It comes from developers that have made other horse games, and I have little reason to expect that it won't be just another low/mid-quality horse girl game, but it is set in 13th century Mongolia. I personally would really like a good quality open-world game centered around horses that includes horse breeding, and it's even cooler if it's in a unique historical/cultural setting. I dream.

I just got it downloaded and am finally playing, I’m still at the beginning so I’ll give you an update soon 😊

Yes I loved all of the Sanrio furniture! Especially the My Melody ones
I’ll admit that I’m a cheater and joined a discord server with treasure islands to get all of them lol
My favorite thing is going to the cafe every day to see Brewster, I was sad when I finally collected all his gifts

It’s worth mentioning that as a game developed in China, data stored on Love and Deep Space servers can be taken by the Chinese Communist Party at any time. We don’t know what they’d do with that data, but we always encourage caution when interacting with Chinese developed games and accounts.

I second this. I've been hooked. It really hits like my favorite Animal Crossing games used to. (ACGC, CF, NL)
I love that you just pay base price for this and everyone is equally limited per day (unless you purchased the deluxe like i did lol, but right now they're giving away lots of bouquets via mail to everyone to celebrate the launch)
It's nice having a game like this on PC now that I've mostly transitioned away from consoles as well. None of the other Animal Crossing-y games on PC caught my eye really tbh.

I've also heard people raving about Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp now that it's one solid price and they did away with its f2p format.

I was really into Infinity Nikki for a while, but as a f2p game, it tends to advertise it's gambling feature quite a bit and limits you so you feel more inclined to spend money. The limited-time banners make this extremely frustrating.
It's a beautiful game, but I quit playing it after I completed my grind for the current event. I feel like it'll only get worse.
I've never been a huge fan of splurging on games like that, and I was disappointed that I would probably not be able to complete the 1 clothing set I was collecting just by playing.
 
People have probably talked harvest moon/story of seasons here already but i played Trio of Towns and Animal Parade last year and i have to say I loved them both so much! trio of towns i like...maybe slightly more. the characters in that game are just so likeable and fun and the progression is satisfying and theres SO much dialouge youd have to play multiple saves to see it all, theres even dialouges with different outfits you wear, i really hope it gets a rerelease with some QOL some day. Its also one of the few games in the series that has multiple good bachelors to chose from. Animal parade was also amazing but the characters were a little meh. I only ended up really liking a few (in trio of towns everybody was likeable to me lol) but the farm customization and gameplay loop was a bit more engaging. Theres also a TON of post game stuff to do in it, and you can even have two kids if you want (most games you only get one). overall id recommend them both a lot!
 
Rhapsody a musical adventure by nis and also obviously otome games like collar x malice or norn9 personally the only girly games i play are just otomes thats bout it.

I know Collar x Malice got a lot of weirdos attracted to it since it covers police brutality and stuff

What does it say about me that my first thought was that that is actually a selling point. I don't like the faggy 3D men but I'd love a game that is like "Hey so we see you're having PMDD symptoms right now, calm down bitch. Just have fun."
