I finally was able to build my vivarium! Easily my favorite part of the game - the beautiful music, the gorgeous environment, and above all the beasts. It took me forever to catch a Mooncalf and I had to experiment a lot, but I ended up catching all seven in the grove once I got the hang of it. I’m still sad I couldn’t keep all of them and have my own herd. Now I am getting into the plants and potions and messing around there; I’m planning on doing the butterflies side quest to get more spellcrafts since they are expensive to buy. I’ve put in 30 hours already and I’m only at 25% completion.
You get 3 other rooms for beasts with different environments. You end up with enough space for pretty much anything you want

I'm not ashamed to admit Littlest Pet Shop was the shit for me when I was a kid, and that includes the Wii games and a DS game (apparently there's a shitton). Right alongside Battle of Giants; Dinosaurs and the Mario Galaxy games; most of my collection isn't really "girly" but a few exceptions go to show they can be quite fun too. These, and I'm fairly certain I managed to save the birthday one when I was digging my Wii stuff back up years ago. Every so often I'll get the urge to play them again but have unfortunately not found the time to do so because of life.

Horror games are popular with girls, right? I just got into Darkest Dungeon and the game is oddly comfy, especially on Switch and it goes entirely at the pace you want it to. I could see it being a hit here, wish I'd picked it up for Halloween.
Darkest Dungeon was my jam for a long time but I got through two of the Darkyest Dungeons before I decided I didn't wanna fuckin do it anymore. That game is equal parts fun and slog.

You just reminded me that I have yet to finish Little Goody Two Shoes, I’ll finish it and either post a small review here or in the video game chat thread.

I’ll be honest, as great as the music and artstyle are, the endings and some of the horror leave a bit to be desired.

I had too many runs get kneecapped to keep going at Darkest Dungeon. It was fun and all but like many "difficult' indie games it leaned too far into bullshit to create difficulty.

You know the games I'm talking about. Dress-up games, Bejeweled, that kind of stuff. Stuff that's targeted towards or typically associated with a female userbase.

Post your faves, least faves. Ones that are good time killers or ones that are so horribly bad that they fascinate you here. I know I've seen more than a few games that have models that pierce your soul with their horrible Hartley Hooligan-esque eyes.
It's a blessing I wasn't here under this janny's rule

Tell me about hello kitty island adventure.... is it kino?

I really recommend Tavern Master, it's such a cozy game for this time of year. Build your little tavern, hire staff and bartenders, send out adventurers to get ingredients, decorate it all nice to attract higher profile customers. It's very simple and a little repetitive, which means it's great if you're the type to play games while listening to podcasts or slogging through Zoom meetings. It's a real labor of love for the developer, who's super active in the Discord and adding little fixes suggested by fans. You can get it for 7 bux right now on Steam. Needs some more customization options/items IMO but I've been having a lot of fun with it.

I guess 9 Years of Shadows qualifies if you're into Metroidvania with a Sailor Moon twist. It's on sale for a few days on all platforms.

I don't know if this is technically a video game, but Kim Kardashian Hollywood is completely shutting down in April after almost 10 years. I loved the fashion Barbie and My Scene online games growing up, so when this came out when I was in high school, I was obsessed. PL but I still play it lol. I was honestly sad when the notice that it was ending popped up in the game today. I’m not all that surprised though, because they stopped releasing new items over a year ago. Cheesy, but this game does have a special place in my heart. I remember playing with my friends in high school. I’ve met some friends through the forum and Facebook groups of this game. I played it throughout high school, even when I graduated college, and now working on a second degree. It’s just a game but it was also a consistent part of my teenhood and early 20s. And damn, the fashion was great!

I've got that game, it's pretty good. My favorite weapon is the shield.
12.50 was too sweet a price to pass up.
Shield ended up being better than I thought it would be. I haven't unlocked all of them yet but the spear is probably my best weapon. If you can get the upgrade early on that chains your throw across 7 enemies and get the Ares curse to go with it, you can cheese a shit ton of rooms so quickly.

I like the characters in the game a lot too. I was expecting Marvel quips and cringe for some reason but they end up being rather enjoyable, especially Zag.

Thank you very much for the recommendation, it really is a very fun little game. I will be claiming this for the blue team. I'm off to Jupiter to get more stupider.

Edit: dear reader, the game is currently on sale for another hour and a half as of the time I'm typing this. 50% discount.

Hades is very good but I’m not sure how it’s considered girly outside of the decorating mechanic.
