I play Animal Crossing and Pokémon all the time, personally. They’re enjoyable and a lot of fun for both genders, though.

Oh, and I play Magia Record, a mobile game spinoff of the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It’s a gacha game (which suck on principle and are basically gambling simulators), but the characters and story are very cute and lovable. Again though, a lot of men play it, probably because Madoka Magica has a strong male fan base.

One series I really love and is incredibly girly is the Style Savvy series for DS/3DS. In the various games you’re the owner of a boutique. You buy up clothes to stock your store with (which vary by “feel,” with categories like Feminine, Casual, and Gothic) and help customers by picking out clothes for them to wear. In the later games you can also help people style their makeup and hair. I’m not very fashion focused IRL so I love getting to exercise my fashionista side.

Style Savvy is the real shit.
I would always completely rehaul my boutique's theme every other playtime because I love all the styles. Some of the music was so catchy too.

The clothes are so good! So cute and well-designed. There are a lot of clothes I wish were real, haha. And yes, the music is pretty catchy.

As for me, I usually stick to Girly/Feminine because that’s my aesthetic. But I always make sure to have plenty of the other styles on hand in case a random customer needs them. I love designing the perfect outfit for someone.

Damn, now I really want to pick up my 3DS and do another playthrough.

I'd post some outfits I was really proud of, but I have no idea where I've stored the 3ds pics.
It's so gratifying to go on a buying spree at the warehouse place without having to drop real cash, lol. I played just for that sometimes.
My favourite is a tie between the bougie rich-girl one and gothic. Those hoop skirts are part of my dream wardrobe.

I looked through my 3DS SD card and found some outfits I made I liked enough to snapshot:

Very girly for the most part, as you can see! But I do also really like the Gothic Lolita, Cool (or whatever it was called), and the Rock styles.

So since I last talked about it I played more of Fashioning little miss lonesome and while I still just enjoy the writing from a humor point of view I feel like in some way they don't really go all the way with masochist guy being a masochist. That's still his general character trait and there's parts in his route where the protagonist clearly has fun teasing and dominating him but there's always a point where he's like "Ok that's it, now I'm turning the tables" and it feels like they just pussied out at the end.

Also while I get why they did it, some of the choices really don't telegraph what they accomplish so while I got Miki's entire route on the first go I'm currently kinda confused on how to properly get onto Saito's route and I'll probably look up an ending guide at some point.

Maybe I shouldn't have saved Saito for last anyway cause while I don't think his writing is bad, I just don't like abrasive tsundere guys that much.

In other BL and Otome news I was going to play more otome games after this cause I still have a bunch of unplayed ones like Hakuoki and Ozmafia, but I found out about a fanpatched BL game I never heard of before so I will probably try that one out first cause the premise seems interesting and more lighthearted than most BL games available in english. I mean as much as I liked Hashihime it was pretty heavy.

Haven't seen this in the thread, so I'd recommend GRIS - a beautiful indie-platformer.
My first impressions were not quite positive: it felt too slow and too simple, more a work of art than a game, but then actual gameplay happened. The music is great, and if you're into calmer and quieter platformers without a lot of constraints and with puzzles that are not too challenging, this might be for you. It also does not annoy to fall down, as far as I've played, there's no instant death or punishment for wrong jumps.
Unfortunately, doesn't run on Linux - but that's what you need a dual-boot for.
Don't have my own screenshots, but there was an article (https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/12/17/a-gallery-of-ways-that-gris-is-beautiful/) which had a good collection:

Nothing will ever top this girly game. I spent countless hours in it - which is exceptional all on it's own because there was no plot and only like 3 activities BUT IT HAD HORSIES!

Cocoppa Dolls is a neat little Love Nikki type game but apparently it's shutting down RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING Of JULY FUCK

I played the Sims 4 for a bit, I made the sim do the things I do and they became a super successful esport gamer, which just ended up depressing me.

I used to play these PC games as a kid, but I can't remember the names of most of them and it's killing me. I played them in the early 2000s but they may have come out in the late 90s.
  • One of my favorites was one where you worked in a stable taking care of horses. You could brush their manes, fit them for horseshoes, and even paint them. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a Barbie game. Unlike a lot of horse-related games the focus was more on caring for/beautifying horses, not riding them.
  • There was a plug-and-play console game called Dream Life that I was obsessed with. It was basically a life simulator, where you play as a teenage girl and buy clothes, make friends, study for tests, etc.
  • There was another one about designing fancy dresses from like the 1700-1800s and then playing dress up. I can't remember much about this one.
  • There was a game I played all the time called My Little Pony Friendship Gardens. I'm coming to the realization that I was probably a horse girl as a kid.
Oh, I was also fucking obsessed with those games on the Barbie/Bratz/Polly Pocket/etc websites. I would spend hours on those sites. I also love those dress up game websites, which are still a guilty pleasure of mine.

EDIT: The horse game was Crayola Paint n' Play Pony and the doll game was Crayola Magic Princess: Paper Doll.

This sounds familiar to me. I didn't have any horse games but a couple friends did. I remember I watched her play at her house once and all she did was pick a new horse, brush its mane and put glittery stickers and stuff in it, and wash the horse. Then she'd move to another one of her horses and do the same thing. Maybe feed them apples.

I'll admit I still like to go on doll dressup sites, even though 9/10ths of the games are fucking ugly or have like five outfit options.
