Getting to late game areas early

I'm in system shock remake, already finished with the medical and research levels and then gotten to reactor, everything goes fine, but then I get into a room with radiation of over 100. Any tips on what to do with that area?

Detox patches, the upgraded enviro suit which I think is found later, and being quick about it. There isn't really a reason to be there until you have to. We have a system shock thread.

Nightdive Studios are remaking System Shock 1 on the Unreal engine. In my opinion it looks and plays fairly well. I've been trying the demo, and it's pretty close to the original, but with a much cleaner gameplay.

Note that you can't save in the demo, and there's a bug which prevents you from changing certain controls, you'll need to restart the game for those to work.
