[/In the first two months of 2017, Germany has granted asylum to only 48 percent of Afghan migrants, local German media has reported. This is a drop of 30 percent since 2015.
The German government rejected 14,403 of 27,639 Afghan asylum applications in January and February, the Passauer Neue Presse reported Sunday. In 2015, 77.6 percent of Afghani asylum seekers were accepted, and in 2016 only 60 percent. This year is the lowest so far, at 47.9 percent for January and February.

The information was released at the parliamentary request of the German Left Party, which claims that Afghani asylum seekers are being unfairly deported back to their home country, where they could still face harm or persecution. The German government has declared Afghanistan to be a safe country of origin.

Chancellor Angela Merkel has taken a tougher stance on migrants in Germany who do not receive asylum, with group deportations of failed Afghan asylum seekers having begun this past December. The Chancellor is running for reelection in September this year and has come under fire in the past for her open door asylum policy as a million migrants entered Germany two years ago.

"It's a result of political orders to increase deportations and send a warning signal,” Ulla Jepke, a Left Party politician, told the Passauer Neue Presse newspaper, in response to the German government granting fewer Afghans asylum.

Thousands of Afghan refugees "former Taliban”

This news follows a report over the weekend in which German news magazine "Der Spiegel” claimed that several thousand former Taliban fighters could have possibly entered Germany under the guise of asylum seekers. The magazine reports that the Public Prosecutor General has encountered 70 cases, and six men are being held in pre-trial detention.

German authorities believe that Afghan asylum seekers who claim to be former Taliban fighters are doing so to increase their chances of staying in Germany. These Afghan asylum seekers think that they will not be deported back home because possible membership of the Taliban means that they could be given the death penalty.

Legal proceedings are to begin next week in Berlin and Koblenz against several suspected former Taliban members. This is in addition to current proceedings against suspected members of the ‘Islamic State' in Germany who came as asylum seekers.

It's a start. At least they're trying.

Someone give them a gold fucking star.
I don't know if that's such a good idea...

Germany has had a bit of a history with gold stars.

Hold up... let me get this logic straight. In Germany, being declared a Taliban member INCREASES your chances for receiving asylum status compared to other migrants because the Afghan government executes Taliban members. In any other non-cucked country in the world, being former Taliban is grounds for the express line to deportation! Hell, the reason it took so long to empty Guantanamo Bay detention facility was that no government in the world wanted to accept the Taliban detainees as asylum seekers. They wouldn't even take the exonerated non-Taliban detainees for goodness' sake.

German asylum policy is truly discovering new levels of cucked, smh

It doesn't. That's what these people think might happen.
In fact, there was a case recently, where a convicted terrorist was supposed to be send back to his country after serving time in prison, but he claimed that due to his status as a terrorist, he'd face persecution in his home country. The case was checked and the judge essentially told him to fuck off.

For clarification: Being Taliban is not grounds for getting asylum, if they were convicted of being Taliban, they could face up to 10 years in prison. But they prefer that to going back it seems.
Many cases of these self-declared Taliban can't be taken to court cause there is a complete lack of evidence (partly cause Afghanistan is unwilling or unable to share information), but being Taliban does not increase anyone's ability to receive asylum.

This is because being in prison in Germany is better than living in a shithole like Afghanistan.

That's a real issue.
Even in South Africa where the prisons are literal shitholes, they have googles committing petty crimes to get back inside (since they get a place to sleep and 2 meals a day).
In stark contrast, European prisons are literally paradise for anyone from a third world country.
They compare favourably to most 2 star hotels in the west, with single rooms and appliances such as electric kettles and TVs.
