German police arrest 56-year-old worker accused of murdering colleagues over 18-year period
POLICE fear a serial killer may have been responsible for the grisly poisoning deaths of up to 21 of his colleagues over an 18-year period.

The news comes as German police arrested a 56-year-old man after he was caught on CCTV footage sprinkling a suspicious substance on to a colleague’s lunch, The Mirror reports.

So far, the police force have not released the suspect’s name, or those of his alleged victims.

But what we do know is that the arrest took place in the town of Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock in northwest Germany, and according to media company Deutsche Welle, the suspect worked at metal fittings manufacturer ARI Armaturen for 38 years.

The arrest was made after the latest potential victim alerted authorities and bosses after he noticed something odd in his lunch.

Video footage was then examined, and it revealed the 56-year-old man spreading a powder-like substance on to his colleague’s food.

“In the beginning we thought it was a misconceived prank between co-workers, and not a murder attempt,” Deutsche Wellereported ARI Armaturen manager Tilo Blechinger as saying.

According to Mr Blechinger, the suspect had always been “conspicuously inconspicuous”.

Tests were then conducted on the contaminated lunch, which found it contained a strong poison, lead acetate, which is nearly tasteless but can cause extreme organ damage if ingested.

The alleged murderer’s flat was then searched by police officers, who found an assortment of poisons and toxic chemicals, according to The Mirror.

Among the chemicals found in the man’s home were mercury, lead, and cadmium.

Police then looked into records to discover that 21 people who worked at the same company as the man had all died of heart attacks or cancer just before they were due to retire.

The earliest case dated back to the year 2000, meaning the man may have been slowly targeting his co-workers for 18 years.

Toxicology experts said heavy metal poisoning could cause all the illnesses that had caused the workers’ deaths.

According to Deutsche Welle, two other workers at the same company are in a coma while a third man is on dialysis.

The man has so far refused to discuss the serious allegations against him, so a possible motive is not yet known.

But a 15-member homicide squad has been formed to investigate the deaths and interview relatives of the victims.

That's a little terrifying but at least they caught the old fuck in the act. Dude was a low-key serial killer and using heavy metal poisoning in a company that works exclusively with all manner of metal and chemicals is a little brilliant.

why do germans always have a need to poison or gas people. like what the hell, dude not cool.
Motherfucker just perpetuating the stereotype.

I'm surprised the company isn't footing his lawyer fees since he's kept them from having to pay at least 18 pensions.

This is fucking insane, I mean I can sorta understand this if it was a one time personal grudge taken too far but 18 people thats aproaching a level thats hard to comprehend and its likey over some petty reason along the lines of, Didnt say goodmorning to me one morning, or They where not good employies so I was doing something the company wouldnt, etc.

It probably wasn't done to hide the source, it was done because heavy metal poisoning is slow and agonizing, so the poisoner has time to savor their handiwork.

Just about every serial poisoner (and there have been a few) particularly enjoy Arsenic or other heavy metals specifically so it takes a few doses to kill and they get to watch their victims wither away in front of them. There are plenty of chemicals that could do it in one dose, but sometimes that's too fast for these sick fucks.

Interestingly, it's also a crime that a high number of women participate in compared to serial murder through old fashioned fist and knife violence.

This is dark af. But brilliant in an extremely morbid way. If the metals work as they do on the human body, it would be impossible to trace it back to a person and it could be attributed to their work environment. A slow, very painful death over several years.

This is why anytime I join a new company, I find the weird, autistic, friendless person there and ask about their favorite candy then bring them some every Monday morning.

Holy shit, he's a full-blown serial killer. You don't really hear about serial killers scoring such high body counts anymore (thankfully).

Serial killers are by their very nature incomprehensible. The only ones who make any sort of sense are the ones who kill for money or materialism. The rest of them just get a kick out of murder. They also get a kick out of evading punishment and consequences for their killings.

It's apparently a very twisted form of sociopathy/psychopathy. From what I've been able to gather over the years from observation of the news and various other information sources, some have articulated that these people have malfunctioning emotions. Literally the only way those that become serial killers can "feel" (well feel an intense thrill, anyway, like a drug high) is to kill someone/something. That's why they start with animals first. These people also tend to be the thrill-seeking type (which partially explains why they are overwhelmingly men).

In most workplaces, there’s only one or two cunts you wish would drop dead. This guy apparently had really fucking high standards for his co workers.

You know, this would be a genius way to handle those wankers who steal your lunch out of the communal fridge.

18 people died that worked for the same company and nobody raised any concerns at anytime?

And you poison it so that fucker can't get the drop on you, right?
