You never had a teacher in high school that was one year out from retirement and didn't give a fuck at all? In mine there was one that would smoke cigarettes with some of the seniors in the parking lot over lunch break. This teacher is probably just happy they don't work in a school where half of the girls in the class are pregnant and the quantity of drugs and weapons is large than the average police evidence locker.

Though, I do wish the teacher at least gave enough of a shit to tell the kid not to read off of his slides. Treat your presentation like it matters and face the audience while delivering it, and make sure to proofread your slides so that there aren't such obvious typos in them. No one is going to put up with this kind of half-hearted shit in the boardroom. This young man's future is being squandered. I did like how the student incorporated other forms of media into his presentation though.

Best me to the punch. Is it funny? Yes. Did he incorporate media well? Yes. But that was piss poor and this kid will likely never be a confident public speaker.

the cohort that grew up with young gen x teachers and retiring boomers (anyone under 30) grew up in a world where there was literally zero oversight for the education system because nobody wanted to uphold the strict retarded bullshit the boomers enacted but had no clue how to be actual adults. this was pretty much how every school project i ever did was. i distinctly remember never using real news stories for "current events" and just making shit up or using onion articles because it was funny. what was the worst thing that would happen, i get written up and go to the office? everyone had like a dozen of those under their belt for using cell phone, one or two from misbehaving doesn't mean shit. it's high school.
