However, the mission I did deliberately had two objectives that were "Go to your doom and go to sleep" then "Talk to twat the next day" when they could just as easily be combined into "Wait until the next day and meet with twat" and we could use the time skip instead of having to go to bed because Mommy NTE told us to.

Granted, it did allow me to do time skips as well on occasion, so I don't know why we had to fuck off back to the dorms after running back and forth to talk to the two same people.

Genshin at least has this mish mash of too many different nations (before everyone started doing that) and a balance of horny and elegant/cute.

ZZZ was unique cause it was a "pointlessly post apocalyptic urban fantasy gacha" that was actually urban and fantasy. The first town has this retrofuturist movie inspired tech, anime cyberpunk stuff, pseudo-magic and real magic, bright streetwear punk and shibuya trend clothes, and a mix of different races like androids, furries, vampires and foxgirls. Reminds me of shadowrun with jet set radio.

Now ZZZ designs are "ambiguously mihoyo gacha costume". They're high quality but uninspired and could be any game.



NTE on the other hand feels more urban fantasy than current ZZZ by accident, as it really is just "GTA but with v tuber reject waifus fighting monsters".

Unrelated but normal cars are amazingly fantasy shattering objects ever as they're the epitome of urbanization, which is why fantasy writers avoid them so much (unless they put a fantasy spin on it). ZZZ is not one of them and the first town has many legit modern cars, on top of the factions all being inherently urban (construction, cops, other cops, bikers, soldiers, maids, hackers, etc).

But when i google "zzz waifei peninsula cars" i get no images whatsoever, only a cable car at best. Maybe they're there and i can't find, but maybe the devs thought think cars would ruin the wuxia fantasy? I even glanced the season 3 preview to see if i find a car, and while catman is inside one, the video starts with this.

On an unrelated note, I played through WuWa's 3.3 storyline and man, did the cutscenes kick ass. Easily the best part of the story. It's a real shame that we can't play as the Exostrider anymore but 3.3 is a really great patch, and not even a shitty anniversary can take away from that.

I'm still playing the game for now because of Silly, but fuck me sideways this is not the game I got hooked on. I loved how the Phaethon twins weren't just blank slates- they had actual lives and personalities, unique changes in their cutscenes and dialogue. And they didn't have any combat potential whatsoever which gave us more focus on the playable Agents. I tend to like Billy or Soldier 11 a lot more when I'm not having a cutscene interrupted by the MC gaining a new power because of bullshit and it shows what those Agents are capable of. I could even accept the kung fu shit because they were still weak and it only really served to have new Agents introduced by saving them in a cutscene. This thing, this blatant JoJo Stand is just fucking eugh.
I could understand the Waifei nonsense because it was all one big homage to Hong Kong Kung Fu movies. Like how the Outer Ring and Calydon was an homage to Westerns. Especially early on it was this Grindcore post apocalypse that I really vibed with. Funny how our characters engage in stories based on movie genres when they run a video store. But with this Bangboo place? Not so sure, it seems like some BioShock Infinite wannabe. Maybe an homage to the black and white era of films? I'll give it a try, but I'm not using that Pyrois thing unless the game demands it. If it starts gaining elements and classes like every other Mihoyo Protag then I'm done for good.

Against all my expectations, hoyo is actually making a mechanic worse than lunar. This reaction does basically nothing for older units nor super conduct itself. It's simply more unique damage for the unit that does that unique damage by default. If anything it takes away from other units (like kuki).

Worst part is that superconduct is awful and needed an upgrade the most but it will stay garbage. I actually bad for the eula players who were praying this reaction would be useful for her or for physical dps.

edit: i forgot to mention but mecharashi is givinga blazer mech for player memory minigame every day. That's random but oh well, it's easy free mech.

at least with the region racism mechanics (pneuma/oasia, nightsoul...) they aren't locked to a single niche reaction that only 1 or so units can even trigger.

I also noticed that the mouth animations are pretty awful when characters are talking. I've been spoiled by Star Rail and WuWa, who've done mouth syncing well, but NTE over here is like;

Spoiler: Long musings

The quests continue to be meh in quality. A whole mainline quest was wasted on trying to help your TV-faced otter mascot prepare for his date, and while it was kinda amusing how everyone just rolled with the fact that he lied about his entire life to this girl, I don't know if it should be a main quest?

The next main quest is whatever. The boss we fight looks like the love child of Hecate and the Dancer of the Boreal Valley from Dark Souls 3. I do kinda like the mechanic of having to stay in the light and prepare for a counter, though...but then I remembered ZZZ did something similar with the dancing twins when it came to the counters.

They tried to set up some mystique at the end with the auctioneer and some unnamed bad guy, but what the fuck is even the point? It's so vague that it doesn't add to anything.


Side note: for a second, I thought it was this guy who was the mysterious, unnamed guy because their faces looked so similar.

In fact, he looks like an NPC, so it took me a second to realize that he wasn't actually evil. Ironically, he's also one of the characters I tolerate the most. I don't know what that says about the rest.

Speaking of characters, we also meet preregistration girl!

She's a worse March 7th with some Rappa sprinkled in. And no, the dude is not playable. Only the women in this faction are playable because of course.

This includes Jade of the Herta clan here.

She's also the one with a gooner skin if you fully max out her friendship points, and she's one of the ladies you can hold hands with.

During this quest, we also meet this thing

It finds the characters annoying. That was kinda funny. But I don't like how fat its ass is.

Anyway, ZZZ had a good blend of seriousness and comedy, which to me personally made the story enjoyable - until 1.8 but ssshhhh. NTE is ALL comedy, and it can end up making everything and everyone super annoying

I suppose the reason why it bothers me is that the prologue sets up this whole mystery with the MC's amnesia and the anomalies, but the story so far is just daily life with annoying characters while the MC continues to be a wet blanket

As expected hypocritical redditards are clapping like clowns and karma farming because you sure can sponsor games with pseudo-gambling (or full on gambling depending on perspectives) on them but got forbid you play/support something with an inconsequential billboard made with AI.

Honestly I can definitely admit I'm a bit MATI but it's because this shit is all so performative and void, seeing people go "oh she's so brave for standing up when it comes to her beliefs/morals", as if these retards v-tubers have such things, they literally pay bills with money earned from simps dropping bank every month of them and doing all this performative para social bullshit, and of course no one bats and eye when other games do it, let's not forget NIKKE has used AI, but these Reddit gooners are probably too enthralled by dog shit character designs to notice or even care to perform up the hate.

Some people try to take the "um it's actually bad because she asked the PR team about AI usage and they said there was no AI", which fair I suppose but still all the fake hate and vitriol is about the usage of AI, they just use that stance to try to make people who don't give a shit care and maybe stop playing the game/spending, even if they lied who knows who's even interacting with these v-shits, wouldn't be surprised if there's a massive disconnect between the actual team in Hotta developing and whoever is in charge of dealing with ENG creators, especially since on a previous interview some big shot behind the game said that they have indeed used AI in the process.

In the end, it doesn't matter really, because it's all performative, people will cry and shit themselves about it for a week and that's it, hell the game has bigger issues than "some billboard has AI art" but of course you won't get browny points for talking about those because who cares about actual flaws.

If the game dies or survives it's going to have nothing to do with whatever they use AI for and after all, the international side is rarely the most important revenue source, China and in general Asia calls the shot when it comes to that.

From what I can gather it's not even a huge amount of assets, or at least Twitter retards only ever point out like the same couple billboards and the theater. If I had to hazard a guess there's probably a handful of placeholder assets that got missed that they'll replace down the line. That's exactly what happened with Expedition 33. I think that bothers me the most is that this tiny bit of leftover stuff suddenly invalidates all the actual hand-made stuff that's in the game which is... a lot, honestly, because Twitter/Bsky users who have probably never and will never play the game will shit themselves in rage the moment even a single drop of AI comes into contact with something.

I don't hate Ironmouse either but this is extremely performative on her part, but really that's most of what she does now that she's basically one of the biggest streamers on Twitch.
