Klee I believe had that 5 minutes or so of beta footage where her walk cycle was the Cicin Mage’s walk cycle - likely as a placeholder, considering just how old of a character Klee is, don’t actually know why, assuming either a fuck up or them testing giving Klee and Qiqi different animations- but beyond that she’s always had the standard “Small Girl Airplane Pose” when she sprints.

edit: Mona is one that isn't cosmetic, she can run on water and wet enemies with it.

I have Citlali, she has a big jump into unique glide or plunge but no sprint that i know.

I remember Klee had a unique walk before release, i think it was intentional as it's too much effort on backpack sway and i feel like it's an anime trope to have "backpack toddler walk".


No idea why it was removed but i heard rumours saying it was "too sexual" and "pedo walk" for chinese laws so it had to change (????)

Iansan is the 1st character ingame to have unique run animations. She actually runs like a normal person jogging instead of the T Pose run all loli models do. Columbina is the 2nd one for having main waifu privileges.

Anyway Silver Palace Beta Test gameplay footage just dropped
Oof this shit is not pretty in the daylight.

We get a MOUNT. I always like me some mounts. The traversal options look fun but the combat looks and feels really uninspired tbh. I don't know how to feel about the gun play. Gives me DNA vibes - which was just anime Warframe.

There's an investigation element to it which is cool if anything.

While it's visually pleasing.....where's the people? I know it's a beta but why is the city so dead? Why are the animations so stiff? Main girl's hair is all over the place. Where's the sound effects in the non FMV cutscenes? Why don't the mouths sink up with the Chinese voice work in this game from China?

Granted all this is just nitpicks. For me the biggest thing is the gameplay and while it looks serviceable, the gameplay looks weirdly derivative.

My team died on the last round. and I guess it attacks mostly the character on the front row. My Charon took the brunt of the damage, until the last turn when it killed Ulrich.

And granted what she's doing is trying to mindfuck us because our memories are so delicious. Have they done this before? It feels weirdly familiar. Some bitch in disguise trying to eat our memories like a burger or whatever.

So Dahlia says she's both a memo keeper like black swan and a stellaron hunter. Yeah I call bullshit. And I call bullshit on her unwarranted action to fucking retell the Penacony arc. They make a big deal out of gaps in our memory like we forgot Firefly.

Huh? Where did that come from?

Okay? But we didn't "forget" Firefly. We know we used to be Stellaron Hunters. So what the fuck?

Basically playing Penacony from Robin and Fireflys POV including meeting another Sam who's not Sam.

Did we need that? What the fuck is this filler nonsense? Blah blah blah Penacony was actually two separate timelines. Or paths. We are on the Trailblaze and Firefly is on the Finality and the REAL reason why she's there is because a big bad boo boo will happen if we come too close to Nihility or if Acheron uses her sword.

But who killed Robin???? They straight up ask this which is stupid becuase we fucking know who it was. And they show a cutscene where Hanabi kills her. Sure, fine but why? We already know Hanabi was the culprit so what the fuck? Oh but it's some kind of bullshit murder because Hanabi actually gave Robin Majora's Mask.

WHAT IS THIS FILLER NONSENSE? Feels like fanfiction trying to shove their new hot Original Character Donut Steel Dahlia into the narrative that really didn't need this shit. They are 100% making an already convoluted plot even more convoluted. Because now the whole thing has been rewritten so MHY can go "Hey look, Dahlia has always been here, guys! This is totally not a retcon!"

I find it apt that The Dahlia constantly lightheartedly yaps about death because it seems that death has lost any and all meaning in Star Rail and now the writing is almost parodying itself. Hell, Dahlia straight up shows us our corpse at the beginning to fuck with us. Idk why we acted so shocked because at this point, TB should know death is ultimately meaningless unless your name is Cocolia.

Death is an afterthought and the writers are aware and are rubbing it in our faces.

Also Lesbian bait with Dahlia and Black Swan. Oh joy. BTW I was right to call bullshit because Dahlia is appearently a "Cremator" whatever the fuck that is.

There's a fuckton of reused content from Penacony. Entire cutscene and CGs and everything. It feels very half-assed which I suppose makes sense if 4.x needed to get hotfixed into a shitty theme park and they needed to rush this patch in a mad dash to meet deadlines.

I'm only partly through this mess so I'm sure there's more nonsense I can roll my eyes at.

Forgot to claim the free pulls in 3.7 because I didn't update my phone before going on holiday and fuck downloading 13gb on shitty 4g internet lol so I'm finally free from HSR until they add Space Ganyu or something to draw me back in.

Also I don't understand how people play Genshin on mobile without a controller, what a fucking miserable experience until I finally lashed out and got one of those phone controller attachments. But those who play with just touch controls are a special breed of something.

And now we're getting Gophers backstory from how he went from Harmony to Order. Okay??? Who gives a fuck???? We already got some of this bullshit from Sunday and his order porn. We don't need this nonsense from his fucking dad.

Even weirder his motivations are essentially the same as Sunday's but instead of forcing everyone into some brainwashing dream for world peace because reality sucks ass, he wants to bring those bugs to the dream and brainwash everyone into The Order for world peace.

I actually think this is one of the worst main story quests in recent memory. Say what you want about 2.7 and the white washing of Sunday and the retcon of Tingyuns death or even 2.6 and Rappa. At least it was, yah know, something new. 3.7 was shit but it compensated with moments of good.

This is just straight up ass that treats everyone like morons.

And I'm not the only one. People are really not liking this shit

You know, this feels like a lost episode or a DVD cut or something. There is zero reason why this needed to be its own thing, released a year after Penacony. It's like they weren't satisfied so they needed to fix it, only to make it shit.

If anything it didn't feel like a Dahlia companion quest. Yes we get an insight to her backstory. But its inclusion was fine and she's kept appropriately insane.

So they didn't neuter her. I do like her but I also fucking hate her because her forced inclusion made Penacony even worse.

I won't play it, but I am still interested in watching the burning wreck that is HSR 4.0 from a safe distance due to the China/Japan tard slap fight. God speed to those brave souls who will play it, because if this is the lead up to it then oof the hasty rewrite is not going to help matters at all.
