Genuinely I'd like to know how Wuwa won this time. I mean compared to all the other games it isn't as acclaimed, was it for the same reason as why Genshin won over Sonic?
Anyway I heard Genshin gives out primos even for nominations so it doesn't really matter too much, one win is enough. Figured I'd play Wuwa after I finish my new PC build.

Players voice is completely fan vote so it's not really about acclaim. Expedition 33 feels astroturfed, Dispatch is flavor of the month and NOT that big and skong being real means it's not funny anymore.

Genshin and WuWa are free games that have a fuckton of normie casuals and china backup. It's still a bit surprising it beat Genshin but maybe Genshin ain't as big as it used to be.

Genshin winning Sonic (and elden ring too) was notable event because one single tweet of sonic fans shitting on genshin spawned a viral fandom war and the entire planet gacha community voted genshin to spite sonic. Geoff also said out loud they had to "remove the bot votes" before genshin won meaning sonic fans made their own defeat more shameful.

Jesus this all sounds so gay

Also we got a release date for Endfield.

WuWa is an extremely fun and excellent game. It's a much more streamlined Genshin with a fantastic story and beautiful environmental design. It's highly imitative of Genshin but it's just a shitload more fun to play and adventure in because the combat has more depth and the open world has a whole lot less climbing and time wasting in its puzzles. 1.x is pretty good but once you get into 2.x it's a peak experience; the antagonist of 2.x is one of the most unique and oppressive enemies in any game I've played. The characters are cooler and there's a lot less loli creep shit than Hoyo games. You're going to have a fun time with it.
This is very insightful. I think it's also best if I play both games, just because WUWA is better in some aspects than Genshin doesn't automatically make Genshin dogshit, I think Genshin's lore is a lot better and its side quests are some of the best I've played in any game as well, and it's improving a lot since Nod-Krai. Plus I can use it to wait for new Genshin updates, and vice-versa.

I'm not playing WuWa no matter the hype because my heart can't deal with playing two genshin impacts, one is too much already.

Also call me petty but the harem shit is really cringe. If all the community does is parasocially talk about their waifus, cry anytime a waifu gets important relationships not related to the main character (cuckoldry/yuribait), or how inferior genshin is, it doesn't leave me with the best of impressions.

WuWa livestream codes

@AI generated waifu
No I agree with you. I dislike the harem shit but I also dislike the people bitching and the bitching about how bad genshin is. Although to be fair, the bitching and stupid ass tribalism goes both ways. I remember on the gacha subreddit, people were brigading a post where wuwa fans were doing charity work for a bunch of people affected by a hurricane in Indonesia because "ew wuwa fans"

Normally I laugh at tribalism but that one got in my nerves.

ALSO DNA livestream. It's coming to steam this month and I see it get absolutely slaughtered unless they make the game feel like less of a beta.

Fuck you Mauvika. Update launches on Christmas, so instead of spending it with your family, you can play WuWa instead.

How hard is it to start WuWa right now and how scummy it is with monetisation and pulls? I'm growing tired with CZN, it started nice but the gameplay just doesn't change and dungeon run is just a gacha within a gacha hoping you get the same one DPS build because enemies get stronger exponentially.

I personally would wait for 3.0 to start since they'll most likely be giving away a ton of free stuff during the opening.

Character pulls are standard Genshin 50/50, Weapon Pulls ONLY pull the bannered weapon. In addition to the standard character banner, there is a standard weapon banner that you get to choose which weapon you pull. The caveat for the rated weapon banner is it requires it's own pull currency, so when the game gives you a bunch of character pulls you cannot use them on the weapon banner. (My biggest gripe about the game, honestly) The f2p shop only refreshes every patch, not every month. Remember to count that in your saving.

You also have the standard battle pass and welkins.

Combat is the bastard child of Genshin and ZZZ in the best way and Rover's actually decent enough in all their forms to be on teams.

I liked the side content of the 1.0 story better than the main, but once you get to 2.0 you can really see where they revamped and made it special.

If you're into CZNs playstyle, you can check out Morimens.

If you're thinking about starting WuWa, you can grab the astrites from the award since that lasts until 2.8. Considering that 3.0 is just around the corner, I'd consider pulling on the new units since they'll probably help in the new region. WuWa's a little bit more generous than Genshin, but I wouldn't say there's a huge difference. One good thing that WuWa has is a guaranteed weapon banner.

You can read about their gacha system here.

It's really welcoming and I haven't found it scummy at all. You don't need to pull at all unless you want to stomp open world or get into the endgame "form two teams" content, the game never out scales the characters you get with 0 pulls and the MC can swap between strong DPS and support. The story puts you in the shoes of stock scenario characters at max level in every single battle and has a lot less level gating than Hoyo. After 1.x I didn't run into a single level gate and the ones I ran into before were more like "hey don't just snort the main quest" more than "log in every day and grind". Really generous with the free currency. I really enjoyed the game so I spent what I typically would on any other AAA game and ended up with a badass team that deletes everything. I remember when I started Genshin and pulled some only to find out their ascension was locked behind special flowers 200 hours into the story, that's not really a thing in WuWa.

Damn i played Wuwa for a while (maxed few characters and their weapons and 1 sig) but the combat really wasnt for me basic bitch turtles seemed to take forever to kill (i hated farming mob drops) and the way enemies bounced around when hit with some attacks and i guess playing 2 open world gachas isnt really good. (i still have few quests that i didnt finish in Fontaine)

This fuck shows up halfway through and just randomly tries to aura farm only to get 1-shot by a key piloting a robot, a jar of ferrofluid, a corpse, and a beat cop

A perfect representation of their dynamic throughout the whole story

Right after Rubuska went down it all fell apart. Although Nautika getting revived twice was funny

The new spiral abyss didn't take long but i had to swap teams cause i underestimated the level of plunge and cc shilling.

You know that whenever Venti is on banner we literally get more than 40 enemies in one fight. Oh well, i'll take the excuse to unbench him but it wasn't enough for the new robo boss so overloadchino it was.

Edit: Also on a nitpicky note. I am massively disappointed that Durin's glide doesn't make use of his actual goddamn wings.

You should've seen the cope during beta that he would get some kind of unique glide or exploration utility next beta week lol

>Character has wings
>It's completely cosmetic and not used for mobility

Welcome back Kujo Sara. The fact Durin has a jump plunge but you can't do use to explore anything it's like they do it on purpose.

mecarashi update tomorrow and new code: FIAHELSTOTA (2 rolls)

I do appreciate when characters have special little animations for basic movement, like Mona's sprint for example. It may be cosmetic but it's a little treat imo.

But I guess we can't have nice things anymore.

Didn't Klee use to have a special sprint or run too?

I don't have Citlali but I seem to remember hearing that she has a special sprint animation as well.

Maybe someone who got her on the first banner can confirm, but I got her on her first rerun and no, she's always had the same "arms to the side" running animation the little girls have. They all do the same stumble forward animation when stopping a sprint. Until Ayaka came along the only one with an "alternate sprint" was Mona.
