How would it be to join HSR now ? I'm kinda eyeing the game again, I haven't played since launch pretty much, played like half of 1.1 and just left, how's the game nowadays ? I saw they introduced skip function for dialog not too long ago but I have no idea how the grind for artifacts (Eidolons were they called here?) is currently and the allegations of massive power creep seem fairly real and not just people crying wolf.
So how is it ? And I'm guessing if I do come back it would be best to start with a new account ? I did dabble in the endgame from that time so I depleted part of the permanent gacha currency, my team is probably turbo useless anyways.

Dori is crazy and every second she's on screen is the best second of the game. Plus her JP voice cracks me up. It's like listening to a macaw having a seizure.

I hate how "Dori scammed Kaveh into debt" is such a """common knowledge""' among kaveh fans and dori haters yet if you just read the story Dori was super nice to him and he fucked up.
Dori told him to build a palace, gave him the money and absolute freedom. Kaveh wanted to make it near a cliff and dori "constantly told him it shouldn't be there" but he did it anyway. It went to shit and Dori was furious but didn't ask for anything, only for him to quit and move on. Kaveh refused and wants to do it again because he HAS to, but dori says there is no money. Kaveh uses his own money and asks for a loan, Dori gives him full freedom again and he finishes it.
The story is about Kaveh being a dumb passionate artist who fucks up but doesn't give up and keeps trying even if it makes him poor. The foil to Alhaitham who is hyper rational and sucessful but has no real dreams.

Genshin fans always say they want a playable evil character ("The Harbingers are too nice") but they can't even handle Dori or even Citlali lolmao
I remember redittors typing that they cried (i hope its hyperbole) because Yae's voice line called Sara dumb ("not the sharpest tengu") and it's incredibly fucked up to bash their comfort character like this or whatever.

They're giving away TankHeng, who's pretty good. He does need his Light Cone, but he's one of the best shielders alongside Aventurine, who I assume you don't have.
You could try grabbing Edgy March. Next patch is featuring Cyrene. She'll support a bunch of characters from Amphoreus.
Powercreep is very real. If you want to do endgame content, you need really strong teams (and some luck).

I think it boils done to so many female players being absolutely obsessed with Kaveh to an unhealthy degree. Sure, some complained about Dori's apparently "orientalist outfit" but the vast majority hates her only because they identify too much with the "uwu loser uke" Kaveh. They think he's "omg totally like me" because they also fail at life. Forget about the actual character stories, they're not reading those. It's all about their headcanon of poor, poor Kaveh needing his dom daddy Alhaitham to fuck the sadness out of him. (Why yes I hate Kaveh and kavetham, how could you tell.)
On an unrelated note, I'm gone to whale for Flins tomorrow. I'm ready to swipe, but I do hope I won't have to spend too much to get him to at least C1R1. I have Ineffa, but I still want some cons just because. Fingers crossed!

The story - both the scene dialogues and the overarching arc pacing - remains a slog to go through for almost the entire duration of the game thus far. Only a couple of recent patches have had okay-ish writing but it's still a lot of long drawn out unnecessary dialogues, and the presentation never really improves. If you want a good story experience, go play a real JRPG or a VN.
Gameplay wise, as long as you level your characters up to max level and max out their traces and try to keep on top of their light cones, and have at least one healer in the party, you will be able to get through almost all of the story content just fine. There are only two boss fights where you might have to reconfigure your party. The only thing you really need is a good healer. You might want to spend your free standard 5 star selector on Luocha unless someone else particularly appeals to you.
The powercreep is real but only matters to endgame, and "endgame" barely matters in HSR. You can clear most of the tiers and get the tidbits of jades with your story party. A meta party will let you push that last extra tier or 2 and get a few more jades but otherwise you aren't missing anything substantial. So just pull the characters that appeal to you. The new super hard endgame mode doesn't even give you any jades, nor has any desirable cosmetic rewards. The fandom fixates on endgame because once you finish the story, there is no other way to further interact with the game or your characters. It's not like Genshin where you can run around the world or do co-op. People want to further engage with HSR but there is no real way to do it.
Don't reroll. There are tens of thousands more jades you will get from going through the story, opening chests, doing events, claiming achievement jades, etc. Just don't try to acquire every character. Open up the data bank and look at which characters most interest you and then be on the lookout for grabbing them when they become available again.

Specifically saying the Gacha system in Limbus is predatory due to it being a "slippery slope to say otherwise because other devs might increase costs of grinding to get characters". It's one of the most retarded arguments I've heard since, unless it takes months to grind to unlock a single character, it bypasses the entire gacha system.

Tactically ignoring the tribalism spergery, I can't find myself disagreeing with the video. Game companies aren't your friend, FOMO tactics drive any gacha, gachas are intentionally not transparent about how much in-game currency you're buying,... But at the same time, at what point are you responsible for your own experience? It takes a specific type of person to log into a game daily for months/years on end even after they stopped enjoying it, or to spend all their money on a character that will rerun in 5 months anyway.
Because I'm not a gambling addict, I've actually found free mobile gacha games more fair than console games, where you have to spend hundreds on a console (often built to only last a year without needing bullshit repairs) and spend 60 extra on a game that has a lot less content, looks worse than a free mobile game somehow and with the chance you won't even enjoy it.

Nod krai seems smaller given how i've almost 100%ed all the areas but there also seem to be islands we can't go to yet which explains it kind of. I didn't even use the super easy to find treasure compass for any of the stuff I just played quests normally.
I'm fucking swimming in primogems i got a fuckload of primogems i can do several ten rolls if I wanted. I haven't been sure what to roll on though so I just kind of didn't do any rolls yet. Probably should have given I found out apperently you get the masterless fortuna for level cap removals from ANY dupe character and the banner they had had ones I already had full things on but for some reason the hyped up "meta" dendro characters the metafags go on about constantly always seem poopy to play for me. Fuck booba lady give me the hitman for hire with the autistic screeching ancient dragon trapped inside his watch I can just circle strafe grapple enemies with anyday over that shit. I WANT TO SPIN TO WIN!
STILL THOUGH god fucking damn it the way youtube people talked about the level cap it made it seem like it was intentional predation shit when now I realize no it's a "you get more shit for fucking rolling a character you literally cannot get more shit for" situation. You don't NEED to roll the character that the level cap is for jesus christ that's a relief.
...I just wish they retroactively gave me some for all the fucking barbaras and that chinese water boy I ended up pulling over the last few years.

The theme they play around the scrapyard the autistic prodigy mechanic kid's house is in has been weirdlys tuck in my head since I first heard it. Yes I know there's several different themes that play in that area I mean the one specific one that also plays inside the house in another variant. the one that sounds like fucking vaguely scottish mario rpg music

Aren't they all yixuan looking girls??? I just found out that Lucia got redesigned to have smaller years, bigger boobs, and a different neckline so now she's basically a yixuan clone. I found an example of her with different palette and looks like this.
The robot is literally a fusion of Zenyata (monk with ring of balls around) and Ramatra (buff robot with hair) from overwatch wtf. That last new girl is so generic she looking like a Never to Everness character. Have you guys seen the male models from that game? It looks *bad*.
They will finishh the first 1600 gems by tomorrow and october 12 they will give 10 rolls at once.
I guess it's a great time for beginners (5 year anniversary still 20 rolls wow) and recommend anyone who has genshin to at least log tomorrow and Oct 2 for free gems.
Flins is OUT too. I didn't get lauma so that's a skip until durin. Good weapon banner for flins wanters as yelan's bow is stil lthe best generic dps one to this day.
Nefer currently has one of the wackiest flaws ever where she's bad without Lauma and Lauma is not only great without her but already counters the one boss you would think Nefer would counter but doesn't. Hope you got lauma.
All these lunar dps being crippled without their lunar supports is driving me away from rolling for them, i really hope Varka isn't total garbage without the inevitable lantern rite waifu but it's wishful thinking at this point...
