No, you're right the game doesn't mention the spaceship at any time before 5.7, but they also neglected to mention anything else about how they arrived before 5.7 either, other than a vague "We fell from the sky" with accompanying glowing streaks of light visual. So the twins actual method of entering Teyvat was never specified, other than in one of the Skirk videos explaining that they brute forced their way past the barrier which keeps everyone else out. But what is mentioned is consistent with the opening so far outside of that.

The Abyss sibling wakes up first with no memory, is claimed by Khaenri'ah as a savior, goes on their journey with Dain, then regains their memories of their sibling and pre-teyvat life on the day of the cataclysm, so they rush to grab their sibling and bounce because everything is going to shit, but are caught by Asmoday. Abyss sibling is cubed, but breaks out and starts the Abyss Order, while the traveller is uncubed about 500 years later and meets Paimon.

I could be wrong, but that's how I understand it so far.

If traveller crashed their spaceship in Nodkrai, why did we start in Mondstat? I was under the impression we woke in the woods, spent maybe a week getting our bearings and getting familiar with Pain, then we head towards Mondstat to properly start the plot.

Did we fucking wander from Nodkrai to Mondstat in the game opening and just fucking forget the minimum two nations we passed through to get there?

Traveler and his sibling came on the spaceship, this was way back when Khaenri'ah was still around and they engraved themselves into the nation, shit happens and the siblings try to escape Teyvat, there the Nameless God defeats them and cubes Traveler, from what we understand the NG then simply threw us into Teyvat, at some point Traveler unseals himself and wanders around the forest near Guyu river then he meets Paimon and the game starts, that's the timeline from my understanding.

Cleared Fearless. The silly Skirk Mualani team actually worked against the Drake.

A Dire Drake clear feels maybe possible if I tryhard really hard and optimize Mualani's artifacts more. For the first time since pulling her Mualani did not feel like ass to play because of how fat and stationary the Drake is. Getting the optimal 3 bites and 1 Q is actually easy here.

My Crab clear can definetly be improved if I actually built my poor 60/60 level 1 Talents Lauma. Maybe Dire Crab can be clearable then but I can already tell optimizing this fight is gonna be a bitch since you have to make sure your Lauma E Nukes hit the boss who keeps jumping. And worse I'm on controller so I can't do Nahida Hold E into quick spin which might actually be needed to be optimal because of the seeds...

Fatui's a lot simpler than expected since he basically just stands still and does almost nothing besides be a punching bag. Unbuilt Aino's there to further EM buff Ineffa which seems like more damage than an actually built Xingqiu or Yelan since this boss has high resistance on every Element except Electro.

But there's no shot I'm clearing Dire Fatui with c0r0 Ineffa and no plans on pulling Flins.

I do so love how the vague story telling brings so many different interpretations out of people. And for the most part, I do like that but something about Genshin just makes me LOL because it sort of feels like they just added more random shit and tried filling in the blanks. It's like current Tekken or Kingdom Hearts but less retarded than the latter.

On the other hand, I do actually really pine for a gacha game where the main character is not special, doesn't matter and doesn't have amnesia. There's probably a game like that but I think it makes for kinda eye rolling story telling sometimes. Granted that's what the majority wants for max immersion but the opposite was what made me really like ZZZ at first.

Also finished part 2 of 2.6 in WuWa and......actually wuwa 2.6 is probably the worst of the story writing in the game so far. Visually they are leagues above MHY but narratively they are so ass. And that says a lot because I liked 2.5 even if that too felt like a glorified companion quest but it advanced the plot somewhat. Even though it was so weird that Phoebe wasn't there to confront the litteral head of her not-church. That'd make for amazing story telling.

A lot of people have brought this up but the worst thing about Wuwas writing now is that they are barely advancing the overall plot and now write the main story quests around the gacha instead of in spite of it so it feels like glorified story quests to the extreme where relevant characters are just phased out of existence. It's not helped that the story quest are split into two and this latest part is just playing Where's Waldo with Iuno + discount Ico.

Also it's really short. Maybe it's because I skipped liberally as I dislike Iuno and don't give a single shit about her but I finished it in less than 45 minutes. That's insane.

I wish they would stop splitting main quests like this and force them through the lense of waifu because it makes for horribly disjointed and boring as fuck writing. Even if it makes the story quest digestible if anything.

And if they must do it, stop:

1. Having the waifu fall into despair until Rover shows up and gives them a power boost by the power of existence.

2. With this fucking commercial ass writing. Actually make your world feel alive.

It's a good thing I've stopped giving a shit about the main plot after 2.0. I guess me rolling my eyes is just me getting punished for getting curious enough to engage but pulling back because it's garbage.

Tbh, I haven't cared about WuWa in a while. R1999 has 2.8 on Friday, Nikke has bunny event, started Anchor Panic, and I can't be bothered to try and catch up

I sadly have to agree with WuWa's story right now. 2.0 was good at the beginning, but after a couple of patches, it has stalled. These last couple of patches do really feel like companion quests, sort of what HSR is also doing (the later half of this patch felt more like Hysilens' companion quest). I hope that Rinascita's arc ends soon.

Damn it, I thought it was tomorrow. I'm so hyped.

But traveller was not around during the cataclysm, and it was during the cataclysm that the Savior tried finding us to leave, leading to them failing to save Khaenriah.

Do the devs know that I read the last 5.6 versions of plot they wrote?

But traveller was not around during the cataclysm.
I sadly don't have the time right now to search for the specific lines and quests but I'm fairly sure it's been states many times that the traveler was around during the cataclysm, at most I think some seemed to suggest that the traveler woke up around it happening, or Lumine woke him up.

So to be honest I can't remember a single time where it has been said that the traveler wasn't around during the cataclysm, but again it could be my memory failing.

I fear nodkrai being "The plot dump nation" is going to do even more harm in the long run when we reach 7.0 and players can skip to it without playing nodkrai.

Omfg Alhaitham is not even included in the free con event either! What is this selective bullshit? I mean I'm still gonna pull for him but how shite it is that the two characters I got from chronicled wish that I really wanted, Kaz and Alhaitham, are not part of the free con quest.

Fuck off.

Eh well free C1 Diluc then.

Because Hoyo still thinks he's kazuha/yelan level aka "too good to be given free cons", even tho Haitham hasn't been "meta" in a while and his c1-c5 being bad.

Hell, i did abyss just now and haitham's team simply couldn't pull it off, with second chamber being on the line and final too slow. Tripple gladiator into triple kenki is also a cancerous second half because enemy movement rng makes it a pain to retry. Had to go with Neuvi/furina/ororon/xianyun, but i feel Sayu would've been better unironically, then second half was mavuika button.

If you want to pick a C1 i recommend

Hu tao > Shenhe/Baizhu/Yae > Nilou/Wanderer/Cyno/Jean. Other than hutao these all have good C2s too. Ayaka and klee have bad C1s but strong C2s. Dehya has good cons but it's dehya...

I'm possibly missing some crucial information here, part of it being by my own doing by half assing interest in the plot and more beyond a surface level and part of it being due to lore being fucking hidden behind events that are no longer available (fake sky) so where does the fucking Apollo 13 fit in?

I done some research back then and literally all i could find was before 5.7 was

1-A single throw away Dainsleaf mentioning he saw a "meteor" come from the sky.
2-The first genshin beta where there was an cutscene of traveler leaving a spaceship and was cut in the final game.

That's it. That's ALL of it.

This ia why I don't keep track of Genshin's lore. I'm so lost reading your comments (I haven't started Inazuma proper...).
Come on now, it's not that hard. All you have to do is

-Complete the main storyline.
-Complete every character quest.
-Complete most of the world quests.
-Read every adventurer's note, chalk drawing, log book, etc. you find in the world. Many of them contain important bits of L-O-R-E.
-Read every in-game book you find. You thought The Boar Princess was just a fictional book, a light bit of worldbuilding? No, my friend, that is an allegory that contains L-O-R-E.
-Read the item description of every weapon and artifact set, including the ones you don't own.
-Read every chapter of every character's backstory, locked behind their friendship levels, including the ones you don't own.
-Complete the important, limited-time story events from earlier in the game's run that are no longer available.
-Watch extracurricular materials like that one promotional video that introduced the Fatui Harbingers, which is the only time most of them have ever been seen.

That's all it takes to become a Genshin lore master.

I've gotten to the point with Genshin where if it doesn't happen in front of my eyes, in-game, in a conversation or a cutscene taking place in the game's present, it simply doesn't matter. I enjoy the game a lot more now that I filter out the lore and focus just on the story.

Ok, so for the sake of clarity, I'm going to use Lumine as traveller and Aether as savior, because that's the choice I made.

Lumine and Aether arrive at Teyvat, explore a bit, and try to leave. It's inferrable that they didn't stay long as no Archon knows either of them outside of Aether being present during the cataclysm (and making a deal with Zhongli for something) and Lumine's current day deeds in other nations. When trying to leave, nameless God shows up and bodies both of them for being illegal immigrants.

Aether is found with amnesia by Khaenrians, and is adopted by royalty because he matches the prophecy. During his time in Khaenriah, he regains memories. Right before the cataclysm, he both remembers Lumine and hears that her spaceship key were seen in the outskirts. He decides to betray the country to look for his sister, only to find out she was never there, and a time loop lead to his own key being given to someone that actually met future Lumine. Cataclysm happens, everything gets fucked, Aether and Dainsleif travel the world while he plots to fix his mistake.

Lumine wakes up, finds Paimon, heads to Mondstat. Lumine was never conscious during the cataclysm, debatable if she even existed as it is noted that she was not classified as a descender until current day events by the world itself.

I keep playing Genshin for the story but I won't lie. I'm confused as fuck as to what the hell is all this with 3 moons and moon sisters and how this fits with the Archons, the Gnoses, Celestia and the Heavenly Principles. I can't even remember if the moons were mentioned before Nod-Krai because I don't read every single flavor text of an obscure book somewhere. That's not even counting the Sinners and the Hexenzirkel.

Genshin is becoming one of those medias that has run for so long that it feels like the original plot was lost. You start looking for your brother and now it's a story that spans thousands of years, outer space and alternate dimensions/universes. Like how honkai 3 started like hero school evangelion and has become this hypercomplex multiverse with literal different games within itself.

The original gods are powercrept by new higher tiers of gods and aura farmers. Way too many factions for it's own good. New power systems keep being introduced. Reveal that the crux of the plot, creation and war is actually about aliens from space. Absurd technology that is effectively magic and androids...

Wait, am i talking about genshin or Boruto?

The whole essay video since Dark Souls thanks to VaatiVidya ruins "OMG BACKGROUND LORE ARE THE BEST".

Genshin is a videogame, if whatever lore or world building do not affect current gameplay nor progressing or any where related current story plotline. They are useless and pretty much flavor text at best.
Genshin has plenty of whatever background lores, some are "forgotten", some are newly shoehorn in because artistic vision (ahem Natlan), some are quite obviously rewritten or changed due to artistic vision too.

Remember Nod-Krai behind the scenes where they say the first person Traveler meets would be Varka?
Remember Tepic from Chasca quest. His yearning being able to fly with Qucusaurus, but unethical exploitation on Qucusaurus themselves. Also, Tepic's mom considers saurians are just dumb animals. Chasca calls her out, yet not because of the supposedly Flower-feather clan founder (Lianca) motto being acceptance to everyone, but from Allpa teaching to Chasca.
Oh where do people can read this Lianca's motto? Page 1 from Natlan craftable 4* bow.
I hope you nerds remember the flying DJ robot (made by Xilonen) from Natlan summer island. Great job Tepic.

Can anyone tell me why the Traveler themself has to hide the fact (from Mualani for example) that they can transform to saurian?
And travel to Teyvat with a spaceship and yet not knowing much about "the sky is fake"? Is it some kind of super space magic like Amphoreus again?

Having the waifu fall into despair until Rover shows up and gives them a power boost by the power of existence.
You really have a memory of a gold fish if you think that is applied to most playable female characters. At most, Shorekeeper and early Cartethyia are damsel distresses. Iuno literally changes Septimont fate from 3 years ago (saving Septimont from being doomed). Rover is just bring her existence back.
The rest are equally on the term of helping out each other, or I rather say many of the girls are overcoming their own problem by their own strength and perseverance.

Imagine saying 2.6 patch phase 2 has the worst writing and yet rolling for someone like Vivian in ZZZ. Keep playing ZZZ despite bunch of obvious forewarnings how crap ZZZ 2.0 direction will be.
Maybe you need to see a psychiatrist, I mean getting dropped from a building by someone named Terry Burger or something sounds like huge physical trauma to me.

Unfortunately I already have Dehya and thank to losing the 50/50 on chronicled, she's C1.

Lol calm down. I don't even have Vivian.

That aside, no need to shift the goalpost to the entire of 1.X. I was referring to the state of 2.x..guess I have to spell it out or something.

Her c2 gives her skill +6s duration letting her be a usable pyro enabler for some units who can't afford ben+xingling or traveler shit range. The problem is that you would have to play dehya...

Oh yeah, played the new stygian and welp it's gonna be level 4 for me lol. The drake on level 5 cant be stunned and absorb 3 elements so you need a Chasca or a very strong duo dps team that can compensate.

The crab is a huge fuck me for not having lauma. It spawns mushrooms around the stage and you must do bloom damage to them to break it's shield then keep doing them to do more damage. Lauma is the only one who can do dendro app continuously around her (nahida has to switch in) and apparently her hold E pops them instantly since it's lunar bloom.

The fatui starts with a shield that regenerates uber fast unless you do electro dmg + electrocharge, with lunar charge probably (?) doing more damage (i never seen this enemy before). It regens over time so you're not bruteforcing (unless you apparently have something like a god hyperskirk who can burst it down that fast).

The duck robot is in the abyss but it also starts with a shield and you must electrocharge it's summons until they stun him.

Is literally every nodkrai boss going to be "I put a reaction shield, use the nodkrai unit reaction or die"? Oh wait there are the enemies that resurrect if you don't bring nodkrais too. Next abyss has them and the crab on the other side and i'll only have aino. I guess it's joever :qiqifallen:

At least i did this one on coop with an ar 56 friend who asked my help on a group with his friends who are ar58 and ar60. It looked doomed at first but we somehow won difficulty 4 on our second try after i guided their team choices which was surprisingly fun. Altho if we kept losing it would probably be frustrating fast but thank god we had just the right units to pull it off.

1758153932148.webp

(It's difficulty 4 so not that praiseworthy but these are casual players with some actual gameplay sense. Only one had lauma and only 1 had kuki both not fully built and no one had ineffa.)

It's a bit sad that the first time one of them went Cyno cause it's their best unit and after failing i had to explain that Cyno is unusable in this mode cause he starts with no energy. Thankfully he had ororon who only needed to apply electro and buff chasca.

I'll also mention how, again, the boss design is so dumb but fixable on multiplayer. Drake lets you play 2-3 field dps team. Crab forces the team to actually position and prioritize targets. Fatui eats way more elemental application so there is less room to fuck up, less dependency burst supports and 4 people stagger it really hard.

It's like hoyo made it fun on coop by accident...
