Freed myself from ZZZ and Genshin. Decided to punish myself by reinstalling Star Rail since I had triggered the return bonus. The pulls weren't even remotely close to worth. Got all 3 4-stars

Those banner gave me only one Fischl copy and 4 Sethos. I don't think I'm getting Ineffa. Might as well wait for Chasca and hopefully get a copy of Bennett.

The first node gave me some grief and after restarting a couple times, I managed to beat Hoolay. Using Phainon is just cheating.

Goddamn Gacha Luck. Gold Spark on a Wish, it’s Dehya, “Well Fuck, least that puts her to C4?” , I hit next and literally the next thing on that wish is Ineffa.

If I didn’t have Gacha luck I’d have no luck.
 
I logged into WuWa after forgetting about it again for a week or so and missed most of Phrolova's banner. If I remember, I lost my initial 50/50 to Jianxin so my pulling Brant this time was guaranteed. I'm pretty content with that outcome since he was the last piece I needed for a proper mono fusion team. Getting his sword on one hand is not something I think I want to try too hard for just because it doesn't seem to be good for literally anyone else and even then it's not hugely better beyond making it easier to get him to the magic number of 250% enegy regen.
 
Phrolova has the same issue. Her weapon is specifically tailored for her, so she can't really make good use of other weapons, and other characters can't do much with hers.

With Brant, his weapon makes it a lot easier to get the 250% energy regen needed for his best echo set, Tidebreaking Courage. You can also use Aero Rover's weapon and Overture, a 4* weapon that also gives ER. If you're serious in playing him, get his sword. Otherwise, he'll suck.
 
I'll preface by saying remember that you can clear chambers and then reconfigure teams
That's neat. It'll help a lot with some of the difficult / mismatched boss chambers.

My Kiinich isn't godlike :( . Not sure I have enough res shred for him to carry.
-You have a faBonius spear at R5 wtf it took me years to get one, put that thing on level 90. level that wolf gravestone too, it's expensive and atk% but it's good stick on anybody, supports can use it too.
-Bennet doesn't need an atk% sword, give him skyward sword and the pipe sword for Jean.
-If you use non reaction xiangling (that navia team) then change her dragonbane (EM) to Fav or the event torch on rosaria. Use her skill first and she snapshots the atk buff.
-If you need decent atk% sword or claymore (like for skirk) the fontaine forge ones are surprisingly decent and only require being healed.
-If you use charlote with TTDS/fav (you should) her attack drops significantly but her burst scaling is the highest in the game so at high talent level she still heals a lot at level 12.
Appreciate these tips. Lucked out with some weps, honestly. Just got Wolf's Gravestone last week. I was thinking of giving it to Navia for now.

I've been neglecting a lot of my 4 star characters. (wtf I didn't know Charlotte could heal).
I had Fischl at c4, but as luck would have it she was featured with Ineffa so I went and got her final constellations. Going to have to build her properly now.

I tried an electro charged team & Xilonen shred team, and scored 5/9 on F12 (2/1/2). The biggest weakness is EC. I don't have a godlike main attacker with hydro/electro. I'll try some of the team comps @Staphylococcus aureus mentioned for the first half of chambers 1+2.

Btw, I found out Theatre shows constellations. I really wish mihoyo would add it to the main menu:

Do you still have no limited 5*? If so then Chasca is a decent one to get first too. Flight, wall haxs, good damage. can technically use 4 different sets (WT, Obsd, cinder, vv) comes with bennet and ororon that she can use while mualani can't. Your choice tho, you can always wait to see next banner but getting that bennet helps a lot, especially if you want to explore dragonspine.

This reminds me that dragonspine to this day still has no compass for itself, i'll never 100% that place lol.

I was thinking of giving it to Navia for now.

The fontaine craftable is legit meta viable on skirk and even better with the MH fontaine crit set, that she can use better than her own set with furina.

I forgot but another good craftable sword is amenoma katana from inazuma. At r5 it gives 12 energy per skill (up to 3) cast essentially making it a busted energy atk sword for anyone with short cooldowns. I'm 99% sure hoyo regrets it since they never released a swordie with short cooldowns again (i guess c6 lynete). Still good on jean, kaeya, ayaka, anemo/geo traveler and dare i say bennet and kazuha if you really need the energy.

The nodkrai craftables are looking very strong (optimized atributes with busted passives) but require 2 nodkrai units which... sucks... but this makes nodkrai supports even more valuable.

You got charlote to 80 what, i thought you trained her for skirk+furina. Fischl c6 is a big upgrade, the extra electro per normal is deceptively good and the main reason she shreds papilla shield.

Did you get lucky on xilonen or aim for that c2? Would you say it lives to the hype or it's overrated? Considering it requires c1 that doesn't sound that good for combat tbh.

If you want to play imaginary theater, which i recommend donig at least on medium difficulty for 1/2 echo key and gems, you gotta train some decent 4* at least enough to be filler healers. Yaoyao is ok, collei not so awful on c6, chevruse wants c6 but still only one who does her thing if you need an OL team...

BTW the 6.0 theater has hydro/geo/elec and the new 28-32 unit mode and haha i legit don't have enough units to fill that. I guess it's joever 🙃
 
Didn't realise I was close to hard pity, so managed to grab Hysilens without much fuss, hopefully I can snag her LC quickly. It's nice to have DoT getting some love again.
I just managed to pull her LC. Now debating on going after Saber/Archer LC, but don't know how long "Long Term" on the banner is supposed to be
 
So as part of my occasional check-ins with dying gacha games, I found out Etheria Restart continues to be eternally retarded, and people are growing more and more sick of it.
So, all the shit that they promised in their garbage announcement. It's here.

It's actually getting worse. They are still reusing events. However, they are gimping out the event rewards! They are now downgrading the rewards. It used to be so that you could buy pulls (3 pulls) from the event stores, but they removed the pulls.

That is so stupid! And keep in mind, they just released two new characters intended for one specific boss (instead of a nerf of said boss) and they have a consistent issue with character skill upgrade resources being more scarce than the dodo bird so they thought, in their infinite wisdom, that the solution would be make it harder to pull characters (and dupes) in the first place!

Now, you can't build your fuckers if you can't pull 'em, hahah!

Also, they didn't address the economy issue or the absurd cost of upgrading gear. It's still expensive to upgrade your shit, I hear tell.

I NEED the revenue report for this month. I am so excited. I want to see this game do a swan dive off a cliff and give them 10/10 for a perfect landing into the EOS pool.

I do enjoy watching clueless devs fuck over their own game with their asinine decisions. Of course, I do feel for the artists and programmers just following orders.

But I will admit I also love me a good shitshow. Black Beacon is boring atm, and Rememento has killed its global audience, so nothing is happening. Not deliberately; a server issue is preventing people from logging in at all, and it's been like that for weeks.

But Etheria continues to amuse me with the fuck ups. Of course, in following these games, there's a faint hope for improvement despite the Schadenfreude.

Not for Etheria though. Fuck that.

I thought this was the game everyone was saying was so generous you can get every character just ignore that you can't build them because of lattice

It was actually quite generous....in pulls only. I mean, the economy was absolutely fucked and still is. Prices for upgrading anything are brain-dead. Even when I played, I had to be mindful of the yellow lattices for how rare they were - and still are.

Yeah, we eventually get everyone...but they are effectively useless. Nice trophies though!

I think? I mean, this game has no sense of fandom at all. Which is probably a good thing, but still wild to witness.

Edit: Verdict is out. The two new characters intended for one specific boss....are fucking useless against said boss if you don't have a specific character on the team that's not part of the fucking cheap ass boss fix.

Lily has been there since day one and she's quite broken. I never got her but I get the feeling that she's essentially Phainon times 10 with her turn manipulation.

There is a massive gap in difficulty between players that have her and players that don't.

As for Batsby and whatever the new girl was called.....you need lattices to make them remotely useful.

I found this strategy rpg gacha game Mecharashi, which has nothing to do with genshin but it's gacha so it's tangentially related.

I liked so much i spent my free friday playing it, it really feels like gacha Front Mission, which turns out isn't a coincidence because the game literally was supposed tobe gacha front mission until squarenix changed their minds and the chinese devs released anyway. Some mechs are clear ripoffs.

It starts simple but quickly escalates as you get new passives via ascensions and better pilots and look at mecha set bonuses. Pilots can use only 1 out of 3 mech sizes and i have classes (melee, raider, sniper, launcher, healer, tank i think?) but there is variation within those classes. Attacks cost action points and you start with only 3/5 then +2 per turn and +1 per kill. You lose the arm you lose the gun unless it's two handed but then you're half blind.

Light mechs have 4 move and better dodge but are frail, mid have 3 move and more balanced and heavy are what you expect but i heard they're bad. This means you can have a light mech raider who is mobile or a more defensive one. Pilots are also mostly locked to certain weapons that have some strenghts and weakness. A minigun is strong but heavy, while a knuckle is weak but lightweight. You can equip a backpack or shoulder stuff if you can afford weight.

The main campaign is also surprisingly hardy but i think it's because i'm "rushing" with bad units. The starter units you get are all really bad other than the sniper girl because aiming individual parts is always clutch, Thefree healer is so bad his passive is literally "-200 weight when holding minigun" which is thrash. Despite giving him an A rank upgraded medium mech he dies fast.

I took the rookie reroll banner and took the shotgun dps girl (frida) and even at low invest she is on another level because her first offensive skill is strong (higher dmg + crit + hit rate + bypasses tank cover). I rolled the current banner unit Silvie (had no idea what she did) and her passive is "if you have light rifle and 1h shield you can aim parts for free" meaning you get aimed shots for only 1 action point AND she can use unspent movement after attacking. Her first ascension gives extra attack on part break so you can easily snipe 3 parts off with only 3 points and run away for free. Apparently she's not op late game but this type of playstyle is always fun. S rank units also get 123% mecha bonus on top of their good stats so they scale much better. Getting dupes increases it for everyone but higher rank has higher base.

The extra attack thing feels like the real meat of the gameplay because once i started doing it with the MC and Silvie i realize that is the right way to play the game. You're supposed to manage your action points and try to do as many triple breaks/kill as possible. I assume this is why heavy mechs are bad, the game is clearly offensive biased and even the material farm requires you to move foward mowing enemies for a high score.

Mecha are their own gacha and i kinda hate it cause it feels like honkai 3 but worse. I can do a 10 pull and get a full A rank mech or a single A rank piece which is retarded, same thing with the banner mech. The hard pity apparently increases after the first S rank mech you get (start at 80 then 120 then 160 wtf) which makes it feel garbo already, i got no S rank mech yet. Mechs have things like each piece gives a level of a passive that gets stronger when stacked, but also small things like how Silvie's mech has assimetrical arms (the sniper arm is stronger while the shield arm is tankier).

But the reason i'm struggling is cause i literally can't increase my level cap until tomorrow because there is a limit to how much account exp you can get per day. There is a seven day login event that gives you two good early units but i don't want to wait that man, i want to play nooow. Another system that unlocks goals and rewards across 2 weeks of playing which i find absurd lol. Apparently this becomes a legit annoyance later on as players literally cant progress and have to waste weeks leveling their account.

Which would be fine i guess, but alas, it's fucking weird in a strategy war mecha rpg. This could've been a good single player game, but i already fear the gachaness becoming a chore. The weapon grind is annoying as fuck too as you have to kill these annoying boss tier enemies (at least for my current team). There is auto battle but it's kinda suicidal.

Not that the story is particularly good. It feels like a front mission mishmash of cliches but more chinese. The MC is a merc who joins an army that is in a long conflict with another nation, but then there was a traitor and killed someone dear to him, we get time skip and the mc is now a wanted merc leading his own team. I seen this before but there is no develop on these nations or why they're fighting (i even read everything ok), they just are.

I also find bizarre but predictable that the game is aping FM and trying to be "realistic war" but you have these chinese waifus and anime bullshit mechas that do spining akimbo bullet time that would never fly in Front Mission but need to exist because gacha.

Their designs are still fairly tasteful by gacha standards (for now i guess) but the men are serious, muscular, manly, bearded, old etc so they standout. On chinese server that is a year ahead they had an evangelion crossover (ofc) so you can have asuka and rei in your serious war strategy game.

That said it's still a fun strategy game so far, but i should temper my expectations once it gets slow. The pilot gacha is 3% which is suprisingly nice (i did get one early). The soundtrack is forgetable and the voice acting is painfully mediocre (they got these people from vocaroo or something?) but i'm surprised it has english dub at all. You can paint each part of your mech in different colors and slap decals. Worth trying for mecha / srpg fans.

edit: i think i started on 1.1 and missed 1.0 but there is still a timed beginner event with free stuff and the 7 day login freebies.
