Will be skipping Aglaea again though because I only have 3 Remembrance light cones worth a damn so I can't even use her.

i recently looked up that one chick who voiced the imp familiar (Paimon) in english to see why her voice acting was so maligned and it took me about a minute to realize that you have to listen to that for the entirety of the game and story, and that voice is also speaking for the player in almost every single interaction. suffice to say, i sympathize with the entire playerbase.

as I said, skill issues. other dubs don't have that problem.
paimon noises in jp are outright endearing.

helps being lazy in that regard. was tempted to buy the 20 bucks anniversary pack (because any other value is just crap) but it was gone before I remembered. 20 bucks saved I guess.

The new version of HZ lost void is rough, too. Well, with handicaps. 3:30 time limit, specifically. The new boss is annoyingly resistant to Ice or built around sheer force.

Scrambling to put together a Yixuan team 'cause my premium teams aren't good enough for endgame anymore.

Genshin skirk/shenhe banners revealed, Candace, Dahlia and Diona, all cryo and hydro lol. The weapon banner is super stacked with fav spear, sac bow and the 3 sumeru gacha weapons, including Xiphos that hasn't rerun since forever (fuck dude, now i kinda want to roll it but i have to wait and see if Iansan reruns with mavuika...)

BTW Genshin pre-load datamining started and some big revelation dropped, Keqing VA has a second english VA credited now meaning she was very likely replaced.

Note that (afaik) keqing is not featured in anything this patch, they did it because they wanted, likely because her VA attacked Kinich's new VA on twitter. If this is true, it means Candace VA will probably be next (she was even worse), and Corina is not safe anymore.

I hope this is the beginning of The Great (Genshin) Replacement.
 
HSR, Silver Wolf buff and skip dialogue button implementation. Story recap will be added later as replaying some previous story section, along with picking different dialogue choice.
I guess they can't write story to be succinct and not carry by hype moments, so they give in. But I thought HSR made the most out of three MHY games? Or is it Genshin could never?

I hate overpower across universe space magic bullshit. No worry, players don't even have to deal with this for decade(s). I dislike Skirk the first moment she appears, and now I dislike even more anything related to her.

Holy fuck, what horrible banners. I care about neither 5 star, all I wanted was to grab a copy of Dahlia for collection reasons and because he's cute, but with Candace and Diona as the other 4 stars I might have to skip the banners completely.

I briefly skimmed reddit in the morning and am honestly surprised how many people are annoyed with the leaks concerning Skirk and the Sinners. Makes me glad I've given up on caring about the lore for a while now.

That said, happy birthday to Teyvat's best bard and most wholesome Archon. Now finally give me his Barbatos skin, Hoyo, I need it.

All of this is to say that I went to the gacha gaming sub just for some overall news, saw the HSR announcement and was floored by the lunacy on display.

The one time Reddit is pro-gatekeeping outside political reasons is caused by a skip button in a Gacha game lmao

I'm only on the second planet of HSR and so far I'm enjoying the story but man there's definitely times a skip button would come in handy like when I have to restart an entire dialogue scene because I alt tabbed to answer a message or something

Because these are some of the most defensive braindead slopeating fandoms out there, near modern star wars stan. They defend every dumb thing for the sake of it, like lacking the most things every games has, and praise hoyo for the bare minimum.

I'm reminded of someone on the genshin subreddit making a thread saying the aventurer book in genshin should first open on the daily tab since you can complete dailies from there now of the and dozens of people called OP retarded and lazy, only for hoyo to do that later and everyone praise hoyo for listening.

But the story is a bit different because it was such a good shield/elitism. If someone shits on hoyo story, they're CLEARLY iliterate and this is why we can't have a skip button. But now they added a skip which can be seen as Hoyo admitting defeat, and we can't have that, we must lash out on skippers so we can look smart and literate.

Reddit is also inherently hypocrital because karma farming creates a circlejerking of "Only WE can POLITELY criticize the thing we like" but the star rail sub will pretend they never went hard on Amphoreos. They milked black screen and yapping memes for weeks.

This is good for everyone involved but i fear it will lead to, ironically, star rail story getting even more "bloated" like honkai 3 that went hard VN, since they'll write with skippers and archive in mind.

Also, genshin and star rail doesn't really do "visual novel exposition" well (ZZZ tries but i didnt play enough to argue). There is an art to having many portraits and music changes as you read and hoyo misses it due to the engine, so you always have everyone standing in a circle with blank expressions and one vague ambient song playing. At best you get a single flashback CG like slave aventurine, acheron and blade driving.

The MC is also not allowed to have real inner thoughts beyond processing information, being rpg forces the story to have random breaks to fight shit and live service nature means having padding and cliffhangers for the sake of it.

It shows. They are acting like they are defending the classics of Goethe and Joseph Conrad but fucking, it's a gacha game. Anyone with a modicum of self awareness would be embarrassed by this.

But alas these people are probably children. Or retarded. I mean, they are redditors.

And yes, even here we talk about the stories and lore and what's great and what's shit but I'd wager everyone here is also aware that 50% of the goal for MHY is trying to make people pull for pretty anime people they like.

That said, it's absolutely more than fine to hold MHY and really any company to some standard if they expect us to sit through their shit.
