Here's a tip for the dogshit DPS check event if you want the namecard.
What actually matters is beating level 19 on time, since once you reach 20 you can just stall, but the jump in enemy HP from 18 to 19 is massive, and the monster lineup can be relevant to how good the matchup is against your team.
So it's sometimes an optimal strategy to intentionally stall in level 17 to clear it more slowly, so instead of jumping to 19, you advance to 18. Then you can clear level 18 fast enough to skip 19 and go straight to 20, securing your platinum.
Instead of 15-17-19-20 go 15-17-18-20

Playing the tribe baseball event and it kinda sucks how the game is all about baseball and the competitive baseball pvp mode is kinda of a shitty automatic RNG fest against AI. You pick the first throw/swing direction and everything until 4-5 batters later is rng? But i'm kinda glad since i dont care about the baseball anyway.

At least i got a lootbox from umizon (haha amazon) and it gave me a goddamn max rarity skin for the banner character wtf.

You can't farm these boxes, they only drop from battle pass, a few from endgame and i guess events but i did not know this could hapen. That's surprisingly nice for how greedy the game started. They also announced changes to cheapen the tension cards so the system might actually be fun to play around instead of useless, but with rare cards being good, it can lead to powercreep and characters needing cards to function.

btw does anyone here play Limbus Company? For some reason i always confuse it with reverse 1999. The 2nd anniversary will happen and they'll give free units so it could be a good time to start but i know nothing about it other than its fans taking bragging about it.

Yeah that was my secret in one or two challenges. It's better to outright stall a little so you land on level 18 then blitz all the way to 20+. The whole system and floor scaling makes no sense.

behead whoever at mihoyo was responsible for this

The incessant powercreep was a factor in quitting the other two hoyoslops, don't let it succeed here too.

Because I have the self control of an addict in an open pharmacy, I now have Brant. I will say he is extremely fun to play, though his ER requirements are insane. Guess it's time to go after his signature.
almost 40 rolls on changli only to get cucked by verina. ofc didn't get the 2 missing sequences for taoqi either, only lumi S5...

it not even new really, they did it way back in 1.2 where the namecard was pretty much whale only.
tbh if they keep the primos at easy levels I'm fine with it, whales always complain about "no content" and I rather have them getting a silly namecard to e-peen with than have to suffer through crap like IT or another sweatlord event.

I guess you won't be a fan of 5.5 then

It's not as bad it appears since it's 3 minutes and you "only" need to do 10% with buffs (maybe not for casuals) but there is no namecard at least. I fear every single Natlan arena challenge is going to be a character check and whale flex event. I miss when we used to get gimmicky fun stuff like the pseudo roguelite dungeon in inazuma or the 2 use dungeon events that were clearly prototypes for theater.

You will keep getting DPS check events, and you are going to like them.

For real though, I wish they'd make combat events and permanent modes that weren't all DPS checks. Theater is Spiral Abyss but with extra steps, and I doubt most of the playerbase cares (or remembers) about the TCG.

But think of the whales

Oh cool another combat event that I'll just do the bare minimum in because fuck that inflated HP nonsense.

In other news, how is ZZZ now? I played a little bit on launch but couldn't find the time to keep playing. Now that I'm dropping HSR until later in the year I've got some time on my hands.

Version 1.6 drops on Monday. Since when don't you play?

jianxin is a fun char and peak waifu tho, sadly like taoqi doesn't really fit the MUH SPEEDRUN DPS meta kuro copied from genshin. her S6 is apparently quite a beast.

worst part about IT is how fucking long it takes for what it is, as if there isn't enough MUH DPS RACE shit in the game constantly, "improved" by getting fucked over by RNG.
haven't done it for months and then I think in january for kicks and yeah, it's still crap.
another thing that makes it worse than abyss is cosmetic shit gated behind it, probably done in the sad attempt to boost participation, but not even that makes me give a shit anymore.

It's alright, cookie cutter MHY style, you probably aren't missing out much. But it isn't an open world like Genshin nor epic interstellar travelling like HSR. You'll spend much less time playing Genshin and HSR assuming having all content finished. At least, imo story wise is less nothing burger at the end or "pretentious". Smashing away all non-voiced contents if you want, there are few quests with recurring NPCs quite nice in context.

People complain about power creep - Ellen specifically, but it's only Miyabi being the outstanding right now. It's MHY typical picking specific character to be the top entire Region 1.x or whatever. Teambuilding is basically, 2 characters wearing support 4pc buffing gears to hyperbuff the dps. Imo, more lenient in RNG stat gearing in long run.

Endgame modes, the original Shiyu Defense is still easy imo. As long as, having one side benefit from buff and having appropriate weakness, it'll be fine. Most importantly, any DPS having good AOE attack - maybe with grouping shines a lot, you need clear out trash wave first before boss. Both images are current endgame rotation.

Deadly Assault requires having appropriate element, playing accordingly to each boss mechanic (bonus score) and most importantly DPS centric (total damage score). More encouraging rolling many characters rather than hyper invest into a few. Having 6 gold stars is enough to get all wish/rolling currency. Getting more gold star means more resources for monthly shop.

But I'll say this. Currently the game is heavily revolved around Hollow Zone, Ether Mutants are the most common so having any Ice or Ether DPS is very good. Corrupted enemies are slowly expand, Fire type is slowly getting shilled along against Thug and Soldier enemy type. Mechanical is having the least amount right now. As usual, MHY still can just give appropriate enemy type to shill for that specific element.
Upcoming Wednesday is new patch 1.6, patch 1.7 is assuming to be the last for 1.x. So supposedly new 2.0 expansion should coming soon.

Currently, I'm playing MH Wilds, the game has other issues beside performance. If I say more, then it'll be more circle jerk for the Wilds thread, tbf most of the threads here are like that. But I'm still having fun with it somewhat, so I don't have that much enthusiastic for ZZZ as an action game now. Do I think MH Wilds worth $70 currently? Huge no, unless somehow the person is an avid MonHun fan.

"reliable"(TM) leakers in the HSR leak sub are saying mihoyo is working on changing the banners so old characters become permanently added to the "50/50 loss pool" and the player can choose 7 characters and you can only get those 7 when you lose 50/50. Their LCs also get added to the starglitter shop.

1741415569757.png

But here is the catch: Those characters will be stuck on the loss pool permanently and will never get a banner again.

1741415827609.png 1741415974449.png

If this is true then it's pretty fucked up as it means hoyo simply decided that powercrept units will get thrown into 50/50 loss purgatory. One one hand this is an upgrade because losing 50/50 to Blade is better than losing 50/50 to yanqing, on the other hand, this will become the only way to obtain Blade and you might literally never get him since its 50% into 1/7.
