I'm still hoping at some part they fill in that mountainous area of fontaine that's inaccessible in a manner similar to how they did with that one part of liyue.

Just for comparison to current patch, Lunar New Year & after Lunar New Year patch (poverty patch) on Fontaine and Sumeru.
Such improvement, much wow and to even consider possibilities of losing on weapon banner like twice.

Dunno but something seems to be going on at Mihoyo behind the scenes. Genshin and HSR seem to be having content issues, with events being real low quality for some reason. I don't play ZZZ so I can't comment on that, but its had an overhaul and it's not even at 2.0 yet. The EN VA strike seems to be causing fans to be more irritable as well. Dawei had that cry at the start of 5.0 about all the negative feedback so that might be contributing.

I'm taking the leaks and rumors with a grain of salt because most leakers are faggots making shit up for attention, but seeing as all the NPCs are talking about just Nod-Krai rather than all of Snezhnaya, it looking like that's probably true. Especially considering the Pyro gnosis is still in Mavuika's hands, so either we deal with that in another interlude chapter in 5.x or that can is kicked into the 6.0 quests.

Either way, agreed on there being better competition in order to give Mihoyo reason to improve rather than just doing the bare minimum.
 
So been playing catchup in Wuwa and just did Encore's companion quest. Holy shit just about everything storytelling wise is better than HSR since like Belabog. During the whole thing there was one instance of black screen storytelling, and that was to catch up what the player already knew to a different character. To top it all off, it actually made me feel feelings about someone who wasn't the MC. Once my Battlepass is up with HSR I think I'm going to drop it for a while, the storytelling and powercreep are really wearing me down here.
 
From what I've been gathering, a lot of people don't like Mydei. To the kiwi that said he was a berserker, you were right. He's basically on auto during fights. Unless you're into that sort of playstyle, he's extremely boring to play.

In other news, Fontaines music might just be my favorite. I'm loving the underwater palace themes.

The mare javari is coming soon as well. I'm going to guess eventually a lot of the blank voids in the map are gonna be just gradually (and thankfully) filled with locations.

One of my main problems I've had with natlan is that there's actually quite a few interesting natlan world quests, but the way they're all laid out it's not really clear they're world quests because they don't show up on the reputation counter or even the little "quest nearby" icon thing sometimes like other nations. There's so much shit that I'm like "Ok what the fuck am i supposedto do to trigger the next part" for shit. I'm 100% certain the random npc that's out of place somewhere nearby one of the towns that talks about their saurian being missing is probably tied to that one fucking bird I keep running into in different world quests poachers keep grabbing. That's not the only quest like that either! Reminds me of the still loose ended fontaine quests there's hints of triggering something quest wise with but no actual fucking listed questline in the reputation board. I don't think that one has anything added yet but there's hints of more to come with shit like fatui patrols with letters talking about retrieving the remains of a specific quest NPC and shit but if you kill them and go to the spot the npc died nothing's there.

That's not even getting into the RNG commission required quests that span in the next nations over. I spent a year trying to get the sumeru questline that carries over into fontaine after you do one liyue world quest to spawn in sumeru for a whole fucking year and it still hasn't shown up. I just keep getting the fucking operation baby quest where you receive snake food or the quest where you need to find someone's cat. Gave up entirely and set my commission quests to natlan to see what kind of lore quests are in the commissions there next time I get around to playing.

Who isn't voiced this time? I don't wanna get blindsided by having to do lou albano voices for all the characters while playing again and screaming about california waking upthe neighbors like the last few times.
 
I ended up quitting ZZZ because of the powercreep, just like HSR some time back, I never cared for Star Rail's excuse of a plot or characters at all, it was just a dumb gambling hit to autofarm at work, but it isn't even worth that. ZZZ had potential but I don't like the direction it's going at all, it made me feel nothing for the world and the few characters I liked are irrelevant.
Heard they made a limited Anby, that's neat, she was my favourite. Still not redownloading that shit.

Also 170 pulls for Shenhe and got C4 Qiqi instead of literally anything else, that stung, fucking hell.

Hu Tao so far is involving with the main Lantern Rite story a lot. That will be painful. Since that reddit link is on Lantern Rite first day, so event may not even has EN for Xiao, Ningguang, Beidou and Qiqi.
There are few Genshin chars with "time-gate" event ask you to make a New Year letter. I forget who are on day one, but day two has Dehya and Candace. No idea if all of them have any EN audio.
Only day three left, so there could be few more chars to appear.

Unrelated, but I actually like using Korean audio as secondary choice.

I switched to CN voices for Lantern Rite and while it's amusing to hear everyone babble moonrunes at me I still prefer EN voices because I like being able to understand what's being said when I open chests and things. Given that the trailer for the next patch is missing EN voices I'll probably switch to JP for that event given it's in fantasy Japan.
 
Hoyo seems to really think the hotsprings event and whale tower arena are enough to carry 5.4 when they'll barely be enough for a week. The hotsprings will probably lack 90% english voice acting and be lazy fanservice filler, while the tower is looking like whale playground and i'll only do the levels that reward gems.

Unrelated but Snowbreak also added a hotsprings mode (permanent) so this is weirdly funny. I wonder if it's sucess actually conviced Wuwa and the hoyo gachas keep getting hornier.

In other ramblnigs, i was trying to get chevruse C5 and somehow got Clorinde early but it used the new anti 50/50 pity (different animation and cant skip) system so i was actually in the special guarantee after losing too many 50/50s and wasted it!

I did the thunder fury domain for the sake of variety/clorinde pieces and as if mocking me, i got okay on-set electro goblet of each set and multiple double crit pieces with just 5 condensed.

I've been farming natlan since release and i still don't have an atk% sands for mavuika. The curse of "the more you want it the worse you get" strikes again.

If you can reliably melt on citlali's skill yea but i usually don't and my citlali has energy issues (apparently you have to jump after the second melt and do it again or somethin). I already use EM sands on her cause it's my best piece but i want atk% so i can go full reactionless hardcarry and leave citlali for arlechino or neuvilete.

Between her and Alhaitham, she has less personal damage and possibly less AOE than Al. But she gets more mobility and self-healing when using her E.skill during her enhance state. Both Arle and Clorinde wants more BoL, the more BoL they have the more damage they do.
Probably more team comp viablity than Al. Considering there is Ororon for electro-charged now.

Playing her is likethis:
Doing all other characters rotation, then switch to her last. Using her E burst first to gain a whole lot BoL, then pressing E skill to enter enhance state (shooting mode, her shooting does piercing through targets). Then her best general combo is this 3 Normal Attack - 1 E.skill on repeat. Her E.skill in enhance state is a melee stab, it will heal her basing on current BoL amount.
If her enhance state ends and her E.skill goes on cooldown, then do other characters rotation again.
In Clorinde enhance mode, any healing from other characters will give Clorinde more BoL instead blocking healing like Arle. So, Kuki can be a cope option as second Electro character in Hyperbloom or Aggravate.

People like Thunder Fury as second choice because it gives E.skill cooldown reduction and some more damage buff for any electro reaction. Otherwise, gladiator set for her beside BoL artifact set.
