I will say this though. Fuck the echo system. Now this might be a case of the Mandela effect but I seem to remember at one point, before the latest updates, you could use all kinds of echos as level-up items.
TL;DR: it's the same for these games.
Not including exp mats you can get from events.
In Genshin, it's only 5 years in (Natlan release), they put dismantling relic/artifact system in (no more worrying about capping inventory limit). Only took like 4 years in late Fontaine increasing artifact inventory cap from 1500 to 1800 and current 5.3 patch to 2100 slots in total.
You sure can get lots of artifacts from
domains, overworld and weekly bosses.
I'm gonna be simple and focusing on domain farm, since overworld and weekly bosses give less artifacts in total per run and less efficient with daily stamina.
A Gold tier artifact can convert into 4940 EXP, purple tier gives 3920 and blue tier 2660.
Sanctifying essence is 10k,
Sanctifying unction is 2.5k. 27
essences will give you an almost max level artifact (Lv19 and tiny bit to 20, more than 270k EXP in total needed). Technically, you need about 75-80 purple tier artifacts.
A Lv25 artifact is used as upgrade for Lv0 artifact only gives 22 160 EXP in total. Lose like 20% EXP.
A domain run with fragile resin can give 5-7 purple tier artifacts and 7-8 blue tier artifacts. So somewhere like 42k ish EXP in total, out of 270k EXP above. Maybe like 6-7 runs in total.

But in Genshin you can get lucky with x2 or even x5 multiplier bonus when upgrading. So it can either EXP waste or save depending on luck.
In ZZZ, dismantling a fully upgrade into mats, you lose 20% of total cost (dennies and exp). A total of 24 purple tier is required to max level a drive disc and 72k dennies.
Similar with Genshin, as long as you in gear grinding, you won't run out of EXP mats to level up. Despite conversion rate (dismantling) doesn't look that great for trash Lv0.
As you can see, even with gold drive disc dismantling, you don't even get purple tier EXP mats.
You only get (daily) purple exp mats after finishing the drive disc run itself (3-4 purple and 3-4 blue mats per run) or the exact drive disc exp mats combat simulation (for F2P, BP can cover lots already).
Otherwise, you get from monthly shop with currency accumulating through weekly bosses, hollow zero and Shiyu defense.
Blue tier is 500 EXP and purple tier is 2000 EXP. You need 24 purple tier ones to max a gold drive disc.
Roughly 6-7 runs in total similar to Genshin. BP Weekly challenge is 5 runs per week.
In WuWa, there are few things to consider.
1) Echo can be farm for free without consuming daily stamina/energy.
2) Running domains and bosses equivalent also gives other resource beside echoes/artifacts/relics/drive discs EXP mats themselves.
Weekly bosses give weapon exp mats and latest one, Hecate, gives free Cr.Rate and Cr.Damage main stat for old sets if players are that desperate.
Overworld bosses give character and weapon exp mats.
3) WuWa EXP mats go from green (500), blue (1000), purple (2000) and gold tier (5000).
Tacet fields (domain) can give like 3-4 gold and 3-4 purple, 24.5k EXP on average . World boss gives 3-4 purple. I don't remember exactly how many weekly boss gives, but lets say also 3-4 purple tier.
Maxing an echo needs 28 gold tier (140k EXP) and a bit more (1 purple and 1 blue to not wasting exp amount).
Roughly 6-7 a tacet field runs, similar to Genshin. So no, it isn't worse.
The number amount 28 Gold tier EXP is similar to 27 Sanctifying essences in Genshin above.
The only feeling worse is how much effort you spend your time doing these domains/tacet field/hunting ground farm. I'd say WuWa taking more effort to complete.
