Can feel I'm getting burnt out from WuWa again. At least storywise. I'm generally not hot on the "Gathering Wives" thing for how overt and forced it feels. Compared to Cringekeeper and Super Flower Power Thot, Carlotta's Rover fetish is thankfully less in your face, even less so if you switch to fem!Rover, which I did because I have no patience for this shit.
I suspect that's an overcorrection from beta, and asians love their waifus, so it's an easy market. I don't mind it as much and it's mostly for the "important" 5* chars to meet expectation/make them more attractive, the 4* are usually more grounded. it might also keep the yuri/fujos at bay to make sure from the start who a character is into (always you)
the overcorrection is probably also the reason for a lot of the changes to rinacita too, like streamlining the exploration to make sure everyone can hit 100% easy. just give the vision the same ability from the hotspots everywhere and work for puzzles too, there, fixed. lootmapper is a nice idea but simply too clunky to use especially when hunting that last chest somewhere. otoh overall if it attracts more players in the long run I can live with it.
gonna miss the post-apoc feel but rinacita only had a flood and who knows what the other islands looks like (if we ever get there).
WuWa pulled a Genshin.

is that from today? because I spotted another placeholder in the crafting menu they fixed over the weekend. absolute madlads. I have no idea what the usual chinese workweek looks like but usually patches are done between tuesday-thursday to have enough spare time for the rest of the week fix shit (safe weekends and less overtime etc.). kuro isn't the only one either, some other asian-run games are patching on weekends as well.
And about half of that reason is because Wuwa has a fucking skip button. I'm not asking for a masterpiece or anything, but I feel like half the main and sidequesting I do in Genshin is just listening to Paimon and another character can talk about absolutely nothing for 10 minutes.
the irony is wuwa feels like it has a lot less filler in it's main story. character stories are a bit longer, but since they're optional to begin with everyone should know that it will be a lot of text to get into a specific character (apparently camellya's story wasn't that long either, but haven't played it yet). although that might have changed with 2.0, still in the middle of it.
they were somewhat optional in genshin too (I still haven't done like 2/3 of the hangouts and half the 5* quests), now they put fucking FOMO on it with gems and boss drops you'd otherwise spend resin on.
