I regret my decisions - Got Arlecchino early, figured I'd go for her weapon for once (context - I haven't touched the Weapon Banner since Dehya came out), got 2 other SSR Weapons before getting hers on the guarantee. About 140 Wishes total between her and her weapon, because I hate myself and decided I really wanted that weapon.

Welp, I guess I'm continuing my trend of not getting Baizhu when Phase 2 rolls in for this patch (fun fact - he's literally the only character in this game that I don't have) so I can try to save up for Chlorinde.

Got both on the first attempt, I think you guys might just be kinda bad at the game haha

Seriously though, that was insanely lucky. Back when Dehya was released I had to spend almost 30k gems to get the Beacon.

I only have one character specific weapon and I didn't even get it while the character's weapon banner was up which shocked me.

I mean unless you count event exclusive ones like dodoventure and Kazhuas sword I forget the name of, those I do have mostly.

My brother in Christ, you got the 5* character and 3 5* weapons in 140 pulls and you feel bad about it? Fuck me you have sky high expectations of a gatcha game

Genshin has been remarkably generous enough to me that it’s probably skewed my expectations - which is weird, I play FGO, you’d think those would balance each other out. Legitimately the last time I hit Pity and failed a 50/50 before getting a character was Raiden Shogun - I don’t know if the Gacha Luck is just balancing out against the Canadianness, but I’m not questioning shit.

desire sensor is real, simple as

Not sure if Genshin will pick up its pacing in releasing two new 5* units in future.
I think something fucked with their release order (even worse than sumeru where you saw dehya literally in the first patch). for some reason clorinde is using ascension material from sumeru, not from the whale or even the knave, while being release 2 banners later.
there will most likely not be a new character for the summer patch (I suspect a chronicled wish instead with some liyue characters), and then natlan banner starts, so maybe they just wanted to get rid of everything fontaine now and be done with it.

My luck in this game is absolutely fucking unbelievable. I got diluc and Furina in 1 10 pull together one time (and I SADLY got the green legendary guy snake lad's weapon with the 20 fates I had left). I got Zhongli in 1 pull accidently with like 10 pity. I remember I got: Diluc , Jean , Ganyu , Amos Bow under 110 pulls. I got Raiden shogun 2x under 60 pulls (shes C1).

I'm sorry, but wtf with internet "personalities" have to take everything being seriously sexual. Also, Ganyu and Shenhe aren't even related, they are only disciples under Xianyun. Ganyu and Shenhe had never met each other until this year lantern rite and their voice lines indicate that.
Sensitive Ganyu horns in context for anyone here doesn't know.

Something I've noticed is that there is a bizarre number of streamers that are super into the game, that don't appear to actually play it outside of pulling, community drama, and whatever chat tells them.

because genshin is FUCKHUEG in profits, but an absolute shit game to latch onto to leech money of. there certainly is a large amount of people that play the game, thus a big possible viewership, but the game itself doesn't offer anything besides some shitty tierlists and showing people high constellations to show what people can't experience themselves just as easy.
worse, giving it's casual audience they don't care about any of that, hence the desperate antics to generate views any way possible.

I mean, considering how there's maybe a weeks worth of actual new content per patch - generally less depending on how Story Content and Events shake out, but I'm feeling incredibly generous - Genshin is a game with a wide player base with fuck all to show off. Because of said wide player base, anything cool or interesting also gets passed around so quickly that by the time streamers find out, its reasonable to assume most of their audience has seen it.

Lets put it this way - the newest area in the game, and what you'd expect the streamers to be all over because its new content? No ones going back there once they get all the in game achievements/hydroloci, and unlike the other sections of the game that're on separate maps, the new Boss - the one draw the map would have - is on the main map. The story content for that new map? You can clear in less than 2 hours, depending on if you read this filler arc or how strong your autism is. Arlecchino's Character Story, again, can be cleared in about an hour, and while it has a new Boss Fight, that's now a weekly chore. This entire patch has added less than a work days worth of content -for people who stream this game daily (why) they'll burn through that then go back to being monkeys for the chat grinder,

All the game has is Pulls and Builds. That and rabid shipping, but that's a whole other brand of autism.

I believe the same thing happens in HSR. Once you've done the main story, companion, and side quests, plus events, what's left? MoC runs, Pure Fiction, GnG, SU, Swarm? And, once you've done those, farming runs? For how long before your audience gets bored?

Genshin and Star Rail are one those hyperpopular games that make for terrible streaming games as you'll burnout extremely fast. It's not even lack of content but very repetitive content. Every patch is the same sidequests, the same companion quest, the same arena events and the same few puzzles repeated over and over. Star rail is smaller but its getting more and more bloated too. Note how in penacony every corridor has a paper bird, emotion gear, collectible stickers, npc with emotion clock, talking thrash can etc. You cant just clear puzzles and chests anymore, there is all this secret shit.

A lot of content creators are also only in it for the money so their content is either shitty tier lists/reviews or memes/ship, with a drama every now and then to stay relevant. There are very few CCs that make videos on lore and the ones that do completionist guides (actual heros) are small..

btw i updated genshin and logged just to get the monthly free fates and code gems and found out there is a straight up character guide button on the main menu now. It's "cute" how it took them 3 years to put this into the game. It also comes with auto-artifact equip which is nice if you're braindead but farm a lot, altho it seems weirdly biased towards crit dmg in every attempt i did.

They think me losing 12 crit, 300 atk and 60% ER is worth 60 crit dmg (when i'm already past 170) and it sure as hell isnt lol, especially on Ayaka. I assume they added this because they'll drop a new type of abyss soon and they want even normies to get into tryharding abyss.

It's kind of weird how it works. It tries to average out your starts to be like that of the majority of players that use that character. It's a decently good idea to help new players figure out what stats they should focus on for certain characters, but it is weird.

It's not exactly a great system. The artifiact set it picks being based on most used percentage of playerbase, then averaging out in some of the stats.

For example, my Kaveh (Nilou bloom) is using 4 pc Deepwood Memory, but that system recommends me Flower of Paradise Lost set pieces that I have. It doesn't even account for level of artifact pieces.

My Xingqiu gets more Cri.Rate and HP+ATK. The 50% Cr.Rate doesn't consider my Xingiu using Harbinger of Dawn, it's more like 75%.
Kaveh2.png Xiniqiu.png

Faruzan should use VV set, but game recommends EoSF instead. Same thing to Chevy, Chevy should use N.O set if players don't want to use Bennett in Chevy-Overload team. But lots of people use Songs of the Day past 4 pc, or 2pc+2pc HP combo.

The new abyss thing still "wait and see", there are like leaks saying. Current Abyss will only have one cycle instead of two per patch, compensating with 800 primos instead of usual 600.
Meanwhile new Abyss at highest level completion (620 primos) requires you to slot in 18 unique characters, good lord.

it's even worse, at lot of people don't play at that pace to begin with (either people get used to how genshin does it to limit itself to a side-game or they moved on because there's no 5 hour a day content).
fuck I'm a day 1 player and keep up with the game and still haven't done the last 3 zones besides unlock bosses. watching a stream would just spoil stuff, if they even care about that at all.

makes sense, either you follow powercreep needing stronger chars like other gatchas, or keep the level low but require more.
since most people just want to collect more waifus the latter is the better choice for players.
