Honestly I need DPS units for Star Rail, holy fuck.

It's cute that the game insists on shoving the 4 star buffbots with insane buffs on me. It's nice to have healers. I just need better DPS units than just running Dan all the damned time.

It's a fun enough jrpg with gacha elements. I can't hate it. I do hate how fucking useless Herta seems to be though.
Herta is really only really popping off on farm calyx and with high investment, her passive follow up lets her snowball ice weak hordes but otherwise she kinda sucks.

For now you should focus on serval for electro breaking and dan heng cause he's fairly decent for a free character and can use the herta store cone that gives free crit. Those two were my main damage dealers until i got Blade, who should be rerunning next patch and i also recommend, especially since you have huohuo.

Also, ouch getting E1 bailu then Huohuo is really awful start, you should really save for blade or jingliu cause they're easy to slot and build.

I mean it's funny because I won't have problems with healers for a while and my Asta/Pela/Hanya all have eidolon on them. I just wish the game'd give me something more for dps. I've finsihed the story for the first 2 worlds.

Yukong any good?

She is, but difficult to use and very SP hungry. You need to speed tune her so that she goes before your DPS so you can cast her skill. A lot of people say she's better at high eidolons. I don't use her.

AFAIK all 4* harmy scale very strong at E6, notably asta who can maintain her buff with 100% uptime just basic attacking fire weak enemies and yukong who gets full buff even without skill stacks.

I actually have e6 yukong and tbh if you're going to use her skill every turns you're better off using Asta instead. She is super clunky to use before E6 her burst buff only procs if you used her skill first, but E6 gives her 1 skill stack, meaning you can burst before skill OR burst outside her turn to use her full buff as an emergency.

Her real strenght is that her skill + burst gives a massive atk+crit+cd buff to the whole and it does NOT GO AWAY WITH ULTIMATES since those are free actions. This lets you pull some clutch triple burst moments or time it right to attempt killing an enemy ASAP. Yukong herself also uses that buff during her burst and has an enhanced basic every 2 turns so if invested she will do non negligible damage.

That being said she is still hard to pull off on practice. I think most people use her with Daniel IL or e6 quinque so you can do a max buffed triple skill or double majong blast. If you have the Tutorial book from Silver Wolf event then give it to pela and train her cause she is a low effort defense debuffer that way, otherwise she can use the cone that lowers defense too (she gets energy when attacking debuffed enemies) but its not as spammy.

You should train pela either way cause she is one of the 3 dispels in the game and some enemies force you to dispel their buffs if you dont want to get wrecked, like the red sword elite robot and the gorila.

honestly getting the guaranteed 5 star from standard banner seeems more and more tempting but i'm reckoning i'll get it naturally eventually.

Oh yeah I like Pela, I just wish I could slot her on more teams. I typically run Dan+Fire MC, Healer, Support.

So, is Arlen worthwhile?

There is no point spending gems on standard nor buying standard rolls on herta store (i bought 4 and i regret it, i could rave a new weapon rn), simply keep playinng simulated and buying the 5+5 monthly fates with ember and you'll get standard 5*s eventually, hopefully a good offensive one like Clara or Welt but bronya is the best. I've been playing since release and i have 260/300 on my guarantee.

Pela usually takes place of the support, her main role is spamming ult to lower all enemies defense and break in AoE but her dispel is too good in some bosses and she does ok dmg at E6.

Arlan is basically a suicidal hunt character dressed as destruction, he uses 30% hp instead of skill points per skill meaning he's constantly low on health, thus why he's considered "the worst character in the game". He's still playable but he's only popping off if you have him at E6 (his burst becomes very strong blast) + Gepard giving him shields and pulling agro away.

So I'm gonna be playing Dan as my main dps forever

I just got "A Secret Vow" with the ten-roll that was given out. The game seems to want me to use Arlen.

With the free 10 pull I managed a E2 Hanya, Argenti and even managed to get a copy of Guinaifen from the LC banner.

At 299/300 for the free 5*. Once I have the resources to level up the new characters I'm thinking to E1 Bronya. Clara E2 was also a consideration since I use her so much. Yanqing was also considered for like half a second just to complete the collection.

got me a Himeko as my five-star from argenti banner. gonna keep going to try to get argenti because I need more DPS units.

Furina is my new favorite character. She kind of makes Charolette OP because one you set off her skill and switch into Charolette you just insta freeze everything and it can’t hurt you.

4.4 Genshin event thing.
Why do I feel like, he's recolour copy of Chongyun. Unironically like a generic protagonist design.
Seems like a pyro, red vision thingy on his waist.

That's the 4* pyro "lion boy" that leakers have been teasing for while and his design changed a lot from concept art so he has no lion features anymore. Plus ganyu and shenhe black dress skins and cloud retainer.

Yes, THAT cloud retainer, the crane one but in human form. Leakers keep saying she is an anemo healer whose skill has vertical mobility and buffs plunge attacks for xiao, but should also work with furina, altho some people are saying she is dps too so who knows...

I wish other countries would have a Lantern Rite-esque events where I could pick any 4* as a prize. I don't have Fischl, and I'd kill for a Sucrose constellation.

got an off focus sushang. i need DPS units, is she worth investing into? I only have E4 Dan/E3 Serval/E0 QQ/E0 Himiko as DPS units. I've only got Dan and Himiko at the max level I can get right now.

I had to level mine to deal with physical weak enemies, she gets massively better with E1 (no skill cost on broken enemies) and has a real combo with skill - burst - skill that can break 2-3 enemies. She's still a 4* tho so i wouldnt invest much in her otherwise, maybe if yours is E6.

One other thing to consider is that physical trailblazer isnt that awful if you're fighting 3+ physical weak enemies, especially that belobog general. He's bad cause his ult is too expensive and he only gets shitty atk/def buffs but if he's broken multiple people every turn he's getting the job done. You also get free eidolons for him, its cheaper to train and the level carries between elements. He's a good SU filler too who'll probably only get better over time.

Only other tip i'd give is that Qinque feels bad as fuck before E6 where her superstrike gives SP, before that i thought she was too much effort for the gamble. Himeko was my first 5* and she aint great but she's not a throw pick or anything, definitely aged better than yanqing and argueably welt.

yeah my sushang's e0. QQ is also e0 but i used her for a lot of quantum breaking.

@Alexander Thaut
I mean, me and others have recommended Serval and Dan Heng. This sounds rude (or my entire post), take it or leave it.
1) Put it this way, overworld enemies, all mechanical units have lightning weakness. Dan Heng is sufficient as single target DPS for some enemies in later part of Luofu, like this pos. Houhou herself should be auto attacking and help Dan Heng as well.
Automaton.png

2) Qingque herself without eidolons can be screwed with rng horribly and can costs way too much skillpoints for bad rng. Therefore, not as recommended. When people talk about Qingque, she's considered at least Eidolon 4. Use her if you are that confident in E0. Also, not like you are really need to maxing Disaster Swarm simulated universe at highest level now.
Even considering fighting Cocolia, having like a fire units (Trailblazer, Asta) and Serval can do it.

Do you know why nobody recommends Arlan? Can he does good damage? Yes. However, being weirdo attack that costs health without having any defensive bonus for himself. He relies a dedicated shielder like March 7th or Gepard (whom you don't have) to cover for. Why does he need a dedicated shielder? Because all multiple phases bosses have AOE attacks, and then enemies with CC.
Arlan isn't like Clara (no defensse up bonus with ult) or Blade with high health pool and self heal.

3) I'm not sure how you feel, but last time I played. There are way more dangerous enemies immune or having resist against fire and ice effect more than lightning and wind. Not sure how you feel about Luofu hounds or that wind centaur.

4) My recommendation is based on your account level. It's stil very new and you are spending way too many resource on too many characters. Nobody knows if you are fully F2P or at least have battlepass to cover for money & characters level up. Pretty much the majority of Trailblazer power are used for farming mats and relics instead. You have no idea how expensive/costly it is to getting from 60 to 70, then 70 to 80. Then pray rng gods for at least okayish appropriate relic stats. Because like around levels 70-80, good relics carry like 70-80% of a character strength.
Ignore memory of chaos. Don't bother about it at this stage.

Another thing is that, 5* characters and lightcones require more resource than 4* ones. If you are already have Himiko at that level then I'm impressed with your dedication. Most or half of her damage comes from her following up attack, which requires you to have break enemy weakness 3 times (anyone on your team can do it). In boss fight, there isn't that much trash mobs, you are effectively doing much less damage. TL;DR: she is pretty meh for a 5* unit, along with Yanqing.

5) Sushang is decent, if you want her to help you against Gepard boss, Belobog shield lieutanant, Kafka and Bronya.

It’s so wierd to me that the Fatui are the only enemies with guns.

I mean, don't think too much about Genshin techonology advancement wise.
