Anyone got tips for that area in Dragonspine where you fight three abyss mages? I keep getting close to beating it only to time out.
Make sure you're bringing along the elements that specifically counter that type of shield; the character with the needed element doesn't even need to be leveled as the shields take damage dependent on the elemental reaction. Pretty much just instantly spam as many elemental attacks as you can to break the shields before you switch to your actual damage dealer and go for the throat.

If it's still too much of a roadblock, you can always go on the Discord server and get a bored AR60 person to come in and wreck stuff.

my friend ended up popping on and helping me out with it. for now I'm just running around doing other things for fun.

My gambling finally "backfired" and I rolled Cyno while going for Candace...twice. I know the wisdom is "don't roll for 4 stars if you don't want the 5 star" but I didn't expect to win two 50/50s at ~25 pity each. Though I may be a waifufag, I don't think I'm going to risk any more spooks going for Candace, which I don't even have any plans for other than collection.
25 pity is like a 1/3, I'd hardly call that a backfire. haven't looked at the numbers but I'd say that's less than you make in primos even without welkin each patch (think it's around 5-6k).

tbh I'm more glad/pissed migoyo always dumping the new 4* with the new 5* (or meh reruns), that's how I could save for months without ever spending anything because even if I wanted the 4* star the odds and the chance of blowing my pity kept me from doing it. that's why according to the anniversary I got only 10 new chars the last year with 38 in total (and I'm pretty sure it's counting collei and some "old" 5* spooks like qiqi and diluc as well).

don't forget for exploration mihoyo designs it with the free chars in mind, if you need pyro amber and xianling are right there - just gotta level them (wouldn't even need to level amber to pop shields with charge shots, but she would be a literal glass cannon). same reason you always see amber/lisa/kaeyo + mc with the in the preview materials.

that's why it's also a good idea to keep some of those "trash" artifacts like exile or wanderer around just in case. collei with full exile might not do big numbers, but at least she's not dying by someone looking at her either - and you can still replace them over time anyway while keeping 80% of the exp.

Current abyss was kinda annoying cause i had no idea the desert bot boss forces an electro character, i tried to bruteforce and failed so i had to use... keqing out all characters lol.

Anyone who has a decent freeze team with kazuha and raiden national should blitz abyss easily tho.

BTW Gamespot did an interview with genshin and it had some interesting replies that started a mini-war among casuals and tryhards again.

This is the one that sparked most conflict, with elitists saying casuals not handling their anxiety is the reason there is no endgame but i dont think that's what they meant. Another endgame similar to abyss wouldnt really add anything substatial to the game experience other than stress newbies who will feel worse for missing it.

And like they say, it's obvious that most people dont give a fuck about abyss. I'm sure 99% players would rather play windtrace hide and seek than another timed arena event. It literally only exists to make whales and youtubers feel validated.

"Geo and dendro will never react, get used to it."

"there is more to designing a character than how much dmg per screenshot they do you dumb fucks"

this abyss is the easiest we've had in quite a while. i recommend everyone give it a shot even if you usually don't do abyss, free rewards are nice

Got the Staff of the Scarlet Sands because it looked cool and decent enough, also got a C4 QiQi instead of Cyno.
I'm almost disappointed there won't be guild wars or a raid boss, but abyss is just a chore.

heard about it but never found the source. interestingly even fucking reddit agreed with that migoyo.
people just don't know what they want, and it's most obvious with the MUH ENDGAME retards playing genshin, especially since the game treats you with gloves when it comes to monetization. if there is an endgame, next they want better rewards. with better rewards people are gonna feel forced to do it. to do it you gonna need better chars....

the game made 3.7 BILLION from MOBILE ALONE. most of that was from people who wanted to spend, not felt forced.

it's similar to the "there's nothing to do" retards. why not play tower of fantasy then which takes at least an hour each day, if not more to "PrOgReSs EfFiCiEnTlY"? maybe because they actually have invest too much time and money to properly sweat it? it's not a bad game, but wants way too much time and money from me to keep up

Some beta changes today

Nahida
-Skill mark: Interval 1.9s -> 2.5 and NO ICD
-Mark duration: 20s->25s

This is a significant nerf to nahida's personal dps but makes her a much better dendro enabler now that she applies dendro every hit. I'm sure she'll be the only FREE off field enabler for a while.

-Burst buffs: All increased
-A1 passive: 20%->25% EM share to the person on field

This makes her burst better but doesnt fix the problem of it only working on certain teamcomps which i hate. The hydro buff also increases her skill duration to +30 seconds which is pointless on any bloom team. Even on a nilou comp, nahida is better played on field so she can bloom with normal atks. I just witsh they would make her burst not so limited...

Layla:
-skill: CD reduced to 12s which is the same as skill duration
-atk damage scalings reduced (homing stars)
-burst reduced to 40 cost and 12 cd
-hp dmg scaling also reduced (turret stars)

Layle is now the only 4* shielder with 100% uptime for free making her a very useful for newbies. I dont think her dmg is good enough (c6 increases it a bit) to justify using over another dps but she might be a decent alternative to diona who can spam her burst even as solo cryo.

I'm a bit sad how Layla makes Thoma look even more garbage. She gets HP% ascension, more base hp AND more base atk (lol) than him when her ult scales with hp. Yeah her skill isnt full hp scalning but she is pretty easy to use, just give Tenacity or BS + harbinger of dawn, Thoma on the other hand is uber copium even at the best scenarios...

tbh that's what I expected when you look at geo ceo and raiden.
I also don't remember a lot more leaked dendro chars that fit into the support role (unless mihoyo cooks up some surprises or a gimped 4* version down the line, otoh dendro MC and collei already exist), so that will probably be it.

problem is thoma is also weird to built and hard to use. I mean people already have problems with xinyan, and thoma doesn't even have the cute girl factor. usually there's some niche they can be used for to some degree, but that the combination makes it even worse. kinda reminds me of lisa pre-dendro...

Thoma has much better uptime on his shield and is designed as a support in the first place. Hutao, for example, can use him for the initial pyro-application, some shielding and everything else he provides.

New banner released

I did not roll for nilou but i tried her trial a few times, somethings i noticed

1-Her bloom cores have much larger AoE than normal cores which i think happened after the first beta. It feels fairly huge, probably to compensate the lack of anemo crowd control.

2-Nilou sword stance changes her normal attacks into skill dmg for some reason. I dont understand why other than i guess you're supposed to use tenacity instead of Heart of depth but she still scales with hp and doesnt get tenacity buff.

3-Interestingly, on her own trial she uses 2 tenacity and 2 heart of depth meaning mihoyo sees her as DPS but her goblet and hat give hp% instead of hydro dmg and crit. Her burst also only does big hydro dmg and nothing else. I dont know what the "best" way to build her for now.

4-Nilou step stance gives her a hydro aura that is basically super barbara skill. It does no dmg but aplies hydro fast off field while you move around. It sounds like a godtier ability for freeze which sucks since her passives dont work on freeze...

5-Nilou blooms can akill you if you have no healer. I must've forgot this since it's more annoying even more than i thought. The lack of dendro healers/shielders limits her comps and forces her to bring barbara or kokomi. Nahida would be better here.

6-Due to how bloom works, you can pop a bloom per enemy meaning the more enemies more blooms meaning ACTUAL QUADRATIC SCALING. From videos i see it seems very strong against groups but kinda weak against bosses

7-Nilou still sounds playable on different comps if you're willing to hard ignore her passives. The fact that she can apply water on or off field for free already makes her more flexible than most, and you can give her a harbinger if you want her as field dps. If it's copium or not i dont know, but it might work regardless.

So yeah, just be sure you know what you'll get if you roll for nilou. She will probably get better after nahida and more dendro supports release.

In other news, i got bit by the gambling bug and rolled on weapon banner to get the 4* sword (oh no) but i got """"lucky""" and only took 30 pulls to get the new 4* sword (Xiphos) that i'm going to give to kazuha cause he deserves it. I feel like i'll regret this later but kaz deserves something more special than iron sting so i'm happy (for now).

tbh that's what I expected when you look at geo ceo and raiden.

Other than theories that yaoyao and baizhu are healers, zero leaks about next dendro characters and no proof of release.

Xynian sucks mostly for being a PYRO physical dps/support hybrid abomination. Her cons are also the weirdest gimmickest shit in the game. Thoma's problem is the reverse, he only does 1 thing and sucks at it until you get his cons that make him slightly less worse. His niche was being a 4* with 100% shield uptime with his burst or it was until layla releases.

At best he's a copium zhongli replacement for hu tao and yoimiya or an off field burgeon enabler due to sheer lack of options for now.

None of the other 5* interest me on this banner so i spent my guarantee on the grass gremlin, hopefully i wont regret it later if Al haitham ends up being cool.

I only played her for a bit but here are some thoughts

>Good
-Nahida's combo scaling is terrible but she is kinda fun to use for a catalyst user. Her attacks are fast and have piercing aoe along the ground so you cant really miss. She wont do much dmg on field unless you're playing catalyze but she CAN be played on field for extra aplication.
-Nahida skill is extremely "comfy" and easy to use, just tap at close range or hold and spin to mark everyone. It also generates 3 particles making her a good batery (cd is only 5-6) and the range for the photo and the chain between enemies seems surprisingly large.
-The fact that it procs on any reaction AND applies to ALL enemies marked is pretty massive for AoE dmg. You dont really need CC to make her hit everyone and unlike albedo she isnt useless against shields.
-You can take pictures of plants to grab them from a far. Good if you're too lazy to get those cliff plants.
-I did some testing and yeah, you can KINDA play melt ganyu with her because ganyu's charge attack has the exact same cd of nahida's skill that hits dendro between the two arrows and restarts the burning.

>The bad
-She is a child so her dash distance is terrible.
-Her aplication off field isnt THAT much faster than Collei or DMC unless you use her ult on electro team or play on field. 2.5 seconds feels like an eternity sometimes but at least its super free and huge.
-EM artifacts are a pain to farm and i'm still not sure if i want the grass set or EM set. Without the em set i'll strugle to reach 1k em with her.
-Her ult feels completely wasted to me since i explore with kazuha+sayu. Her c1 fixes this issue but i didnt get it early.

I cannot say much for her dmg and powerlevel yet, mine is level 50 with with 740 EM artifacts and the grass dmg artifact set. i plan to build her with EM main stats with crit substats if possible since she gets 80% dendro dmg at 1000 em. In other good news, i got 3 noeles so i finally c6 her! Gonna start farming artifacts for her cause i want a decent dps+healer to play on coop.

i really think going all out em is a trap. it's a nice bonus but i'm pretty sure you get more out of standard dps setup of em/dendro dmg/crit. also remember that her em sharing is based on the character in the party with the highest em and not only hers so if you're using an anemo character with stacked em it can use theirs

Nahida benefits from everything aside from HP/DEF, so as long as you're getting as close to 1,000 EM as possible, Dendro% or Crit helms are very viable. She gets so much base EM (115 from levels, 110-265 from EM catalyst weapons, 187 from EM sands, 80 from 2pc GD, then factor in weapon passives, Dendro resonance, and 4pc GD effects that are team dependent) that the substats end up making more of a difference when artifact farming.

I tried her in a few Spiral Abyss runs just to get a feel for her teams and she's a really strong character. Even though I only have her at Lv. 70 with Lv. 6 talents, she's doing great damage on Aggravate/Spread teams and helps maintain Quicken. Her synergy on Nilou Bloom teams though is insane. With the EM share on activate characters, all of my units are scoring 15k+ Bloom procs and the entire field gets bombarded with them constantly. I'm sure the math on Bloom teams is a nightmare, but it's almost doesn't matter because Nahida turns the entire arena into a landmine field.

Anyway, I pulled for Nahida too. 120 Wishes, I got rewarded with 1 Diluc, 3 Razors, fucking Bennet C6 so i'm either gonna get that out of the way or deal with a red ! all the time, which I doubt I can. Also pulled like 6 Noelles that I had on C6 for ages. Sigh.

But at least I also got 1 Nahida. I think I'll pull whatever primos I get during this banner and try to get her C1 because, uh, she is really fucking good actually, and I enjoy Catalyst characters very much. I haven't explored the dendro regions much and having her there seems useful.

Looking at her constellations, if you are a whale and max those out, she seems like just a walking green nuke.

I still haven't gotten my Hu Tao C1 btw, and I'm miffed. There will be that brown Fire 5 Star Claymore chick coming in the mean time, so if thats a good character, Hu Tao might just be shit out of luck and get benched forever.

For now I'll be farming Deepwood Memories until I get a proper EM out of her. I have a 4x Widsith or a 4x Mappa Mare. I'm thinking, if I use her more as a support, which I probably will, the widsith is the better choice for burst damage.

Scara and faruzam gameplay leaked and goddamn, Scara looks a lot more fun than i thought. His animations also look a bit like Silverwing from honkai (who is also a flying ranged attacker).

Btw you can move while flying (looks like normal speed) and instead of jumping you actively fly upwards as long as you have flight stamina. If his attacks pierce and aim then he should actually be pretty good against mobs.
