Impressed at how much lore you guys know. I generally just click through all dialogue unless it's a character quest of someone I really like.
Kudos for that.
Side note: does anyone here still complete abyss? I 36-starred it but the Ruin Serpent almost made me quit right then and there. How did you guys deal with it?

Subject 2 is a completely different character and he never meets albedo during the event, i have no idea why you think he agreed to let Albedo turn him into the kid's father, when the cutscene and Albedo imply he is still out there ("Subject Two did not succeed. But you can never let your guard down on Dragonspine.") Its theorized that the albedo we see coming from the cave was subject 2 (the one who says "Humans only care about things that are good").

Besides, leakers (grain of salt as usual) said there is more albedo lore incoming and that Subject 2 name is Dorian so he's bound to come back as a threat again.
After having reviewed the event it was my impression the cutscene with Albedo talking about Dorian's goal and Albedo leaving his cave while drawing his sword was that he was going to go find and kill Dorian

And later when the traveler asks him how he felt killing the impostor i assumed Traveler was referring to Dorian (tho its possible he meant the whopper flower S3) and I again assumed Albedo was lying about having done it and implying such in the Sunsettia story in order to conceal Dorians continued existence and allow him a normal life

Edit: Bottom line it makes a ton more sense for the HEAVILY implied dead dad returning with amnesia to be the KNOWN EXISTING SHAPESHIFTER who wanted a normal life than dead dad was not dead loljk

i edited with my findings of reviewing the material I referred to Albedo as S2 because chronologically he would be S2 as The real "S2 fake albedo" came first

It was my confusion based on how Albedo told his story and my autism of relabeling them in the correct chronological order my bad

As for the rest of your comment i think my edit will cover that

I get what you mean but i dont see that's as implying Albedo turned subject 2 into that kids fathers, its showing Albedo doesnt blame subject 2 for hating him since S2 never had an opportunity to be himself. Of course, it's a possibility i cant deny but unless they bring him back, it's a one theory.

btw i'd also like to point out that the idea of a fake albedo existing was always foreshadowed without context and became a lot funnier in hindsight.

1-Rosaria's distrust towards albedo sounded dumb back then but turns 100% justified when you consider he has an evil doppelganger out there, and it's very likely she already met him and he lied to her.

2-Albedo's final line during his quest where he goes "If i ever go evil, can i trust you to stop me?" sound a lot darker if you assume he's not only talking about himself but another Albedo that no one knows exists.

This is also why i think S2 story's isnt over, i think this character will be probably be very important for Albedo's long term lore in general.

True it is ultimately all assumptions and theories on my part

I just think they make a ton more sense than randomly retconning the dead dad back to life

I eagerly await Dorians return I loved that event and I love Albedos story

Thing is the dad was never outright said to be dead. The implication was he "possibly died" but was generally not in a good state. There are other cases like this in genshin impact like the shit with the missing guy in the chasm turning out to be still alive but high off his ass on "mushroom meat" which was the only really edible thing down there, unlike dragonspine where there's normal but sparse edible stuff but it's so fucking cold you might freeze to death. it doesn't quite have the shit that infests the deeper layers of the chasm like the fucking corrosive black evil goo shit or the stuff in inazuma caused by the residual energies of the dead snake and the "filth" though it does have the still beating heart of the corrupted dead dragon that was buried under the mountain and the ruins of a "pre-archon" civilization like what's in ekanomiya and the chasm.

Speaking of the chasm though, it's interesting that there's fatui down there that were sent to fight back against... something possibly a few years before the events of the whole situation with the traveler. Kinda shows there's a lot more going on with the kanreah incident shit than what seems initially known. I wouldn't doubt the possibility it's some weird shit where the godless techno-nation bent on taking more land accidentally unleashed some unknowable evil they couldn't control kind of like the lore with the riftwolves being the after-effect of a failed experiment.

Personally, I only ever bother going up to 10-3.

Like, it’s doable, and I’ve cleared Floor 12 with some actual jank (it was during the Great Delay, 12-3 B was 3 Abyss Lecterns, team was Zhongli, Raiden, Miko, and Qiqi. Meteor Spam for days) but otherwise it’s entirely an autism check.

If you’re playing on console, maybe do it once for the trophy - it was admittedly most of my motivation, and unlike the “Fish up all the Book Pages” trophy I didn’t need RNJesus to love me for it to happen…

Albedo is bestest boy.

My question from that event is: What sword is Bennett using during the Flowbedo betrayal cutscene? It looks like a slightly modified Festering Desire.

If its easy enough sure
If its one of those cycles where someone was having a bad day at the office so they decided to put all 4 different types of abyss lectors on both sides of 12-3 then i just accept the 35 stars lol

So I showed some friends how the game after not playing for a year and is it me or is the game is noticeably easier?

I usually post my clears here everytime abyss changes. Once you get geared enough the normal game becomes so easy that abyss is the only thing that puts some thrill in there. Yeah at first it will be cancer but eventually you'll pull it off.

IMO Ruin Serpent is actually pretty easy as long as you have a team that can burst it hard everytime it's on screen, which also means a team that can recharge itself very fast. I did with Ayato/ayaka/ganyu/zhongli which isnt optimal for it but i can get 2-3 ayaka full bursts and stunlock it with ayato+ganyu burst to finish it off.

vague tips: Get used to it's animations and punish all of them. If it comes out tail first, it will do a spike. If it jumps out it will dive back then stand up and do a slow spin. If it stards spinning high it will get 90% dmg resist and do the homing blast attack but if you attack fast enough you can interrupt and stun it for +10 seconds. If it does the whirlpool it will swim around, try to hit skills to get energy. I like bringing shielder to not get stagered.

Boss and relic dungeon did far less damage than I remember. The Ice wolf attack only removed a 1/6 of my health and the earth relic dungeon fucked me up for using melt, but its effects were negligable.

Dont know which world level they are but they nerfed some of the strongest bosses in 2.7 below world level 7.

-Reduces combat difficulty for some opponents at World Level 3–6 (including "Oceanid," "Geo Hypostasis," "Cryo Hypostasis," "Maguu Kenki," "Thunder Manifestation," "Golden Wolflord," "Stormterror," and "Azhdaha").

No idea on domain penalty nerf tho, it might be an ilusion or you got more hp now.

I generally find Abyss super fun. I could eventually clear the Ruin Serpent, but I kinda felt it was a bit RNG dependent. It was a chore, tbh. Doesn't help that my DPSs aren't the best (Klee & Keqing) but I find them both fun as fuck.
Thanks for the extra advice, though.

Out of curiosity, how is freeze with Ayato? I thought his Q has kinda inconsistent applying Hydro, but he sounds busted with Ganyu.

Clearing the first half in 30-45s helps a lot with serpent but you need a very bursty comp to pull it off. I did that one with Diluc/bennet/xq/kaz and kept reseting till i got lucky. Kaz+bennet is particularly good there because he will always burst pyro and melt the gunners. Then i just try to smack mirror maiden fast as possible. Id say you should try kaz with klee too since he pulls her bombs and boosts her pyro dmg.

Solo hydro Ayato burst does NOT feel reliable for off field freeze against 1-2 enemies but it works against grouped up enemies by venti or kaz. His skill is actually very good for freeze since it applies just enough hydro while having large range so even without strong CC he can freeze 5+ people.

Of course this also depends on teamates and i personally think freeze wise his synergy is ganyu and venti is incredibly busted and trivializes any room with light mobs. Off field cryo you can use Rosaria or Diona, and both enable Ayaka. Anemo wise Sayu is good against small numbers, Kazuha is a significant dps boost, sucrose is copium and jean might be a hindrance. If you're against tough single target (samurai or robot), xinqiu and yelan work with him too.

I dont have all characters but i can tests if you want. I think what most people dont even try ayato freeze is cause they would rather play with Ayaka or ganyu as the field dps instead of him, but he's better for freeze than i thought. I usually start bursting with him, rotate everyone then use his skill and if you kill enemies fast enough his burst will be charged by the time cd is over.

edit: alleged 3.0 banners, this leaker has been trustworthy so far and got a lot stuff right

Big upsets for my brother who wanted to roll on the weapon banner. I expect the weapons to be tighari's bow + Vortex Vanquish and Amos bow + Koko donut.

btw tighnari's bow is low atk high crit (44%), free 12% elemental dmg and charge attack bonus based on EM, so other than a crit stick it only pops off with tighnari and melt ganyu.

Havent seen it mentioned but 3.0 stream is tomorrow btw, if you saw leaks you know everything already but it should cover a lot anyway.

Sooo how is hype for sumeru characters? For me it's personally:

Al Haitham > Dehya > Nahida (archon) > Cyno > Collei > Dendro Traveler > Nilou > Tighnari > Dori

Not a fan of tighnari and dori's kit but Collei and Dendro MC sound interesting enough, if only because they'll be the first dendro character. Everyone else is subject to change ofc but so far i like Al haitam and dehya designs the most.

Dendrowise i'm actually excited to try out possible ayato comps. His lesser hydro aplication doesnt matter as long as it keeps ups with the dendro so in theory he should get the job done while doing some good aoe dmg himself.

>green ganyu
>rerunning ganyu right afterward

Yeah I believe the theory that Tighnari will be added to standard. If he isn't, then there won't be a dendro 5 star on it.
Apparently Collei is just a worse dendro traveler so, lol. Dori being almost exactly the same as kuki is pretty funny. Obviously Kusanali and Al Haitham will be the best characters, apparently she reduces dendro res by a fuckton. Archons always have to be good, and I have a feeling Al Haitham will be too. Nilou will probably be something like hydro diluc/keqing/main dps with hydro infusion (from the leaked video). Idk about Dehya and Cyno, not enough info. As for dendro I don't know much, but I saw that they nerfed the gauge value of how much pyro that burning applies, which kind of fucks burning already. Oh well.

It's waaay worse than dendro ganyu, at least ganyu can shoot forever or be played off field with extreme ease and strenght, tinari only gets 3 charge shots per skill (12s) and a fairly mediocre burst.

Dori really isnt like kuki at all, the first pratically really wants full ER with sac clay and gives flat energy while the latter has free infinite heal and can stack full EM making her good for reactions.

I think people are massively overrating dendro traveler just like they overrated electro traveler. He has the same issues collei has but with a more expensive/longer burst, awful application and useless passives (ah yes, EM = skill dmg on a character who does no dmg and wants ER). Collei's aplication is actually good and balanced around her skill, burst, floral ring passive and C6 that gives extra dendro hit. Either way they'll both probably be trivialized by the archon so colleibros shouldn't have expected much anyway.

If dendro traveler looks good it's cause this is the first time their kit actually fucking works instead of making everything worse. Traveler will probably be good on 2 dendro 2 elec comps while collei is better for solo dendro generalized comps, especially with c6.
