Won my first 50/50 ever and picked up Ayaka. Now to farm up resources again since I just level 90'd Ayato
Really want Ayaka but I already have Ganyu and Eula, so I feel like another Ice DPS would be somewhat redundant. My current savings goal is to get a Hu Tao Constellation. She was my first 5-Star, and I want to fix her Stamina consumption and just charge attack all day.

They are both top in what they do, Ayaka in Burst DPS and application, Ganyu for versatility and AoE sniping. Both are top picks when it comes to frosty dominant parties. They just don't run well with each other.

Hu Tao C1 is a great pick. No regrets to be had there.

Someone should download it just for the sake of archival purposes.
I'm more surprised that it took this long to happen, and given how you can just give yourself more Fates via command Mihoyo is going to come down on this hard as soon as they learn about it or are able to get their lawyers to do something about it (why buy primos/welkin/battlepass if you can play through the entire game with unlimited wishes on a private server for free; co-op may be nonfunctional for the moment, but if past events are still in the game files then it may be possible to replay them whenever you want. Someone who uploaded a video demonstration showed the map briefly, which has icons on it for many past events like Windtrace and even the Unreconciled Stars event from Version 1.1, which technically would make this a more complete and superior version of the game). After 2.7 eventually happens, I'd expect one of the next updates to be partially dedicated to making sure this server emulator won't work any longer without some large changes.

Just glancing over the documentation suggests this is undetectable for now and won't get your account banned, as it requires you to redirect all Mihoyo-bound network traffic to the server host and the actual game installation is not modified in any fashion. Mihoyo may eventually alter their launcher to scan for the presence of the server emulator or may start comparing your log files to their servers, as if your logs show logins that are not reflected in their logs, you've been connecting to an emulated server.
Edit: that said, I think it's more likely Mihoyo will try to modify client/server interactions so the game won't be fooled by the emulated server instead of banning people from the official servers. Either option angers people, but people who still have accounts with all of their progress may potentially come back and spend spend spend.

In theory, you don't even need to be a PC player for this; you just need to have the means to host it and redirect your network traffic to the host.

Obviously Mihoyo won't like someone making an objectively better version of their own game, that said, does it really have working events? Like, if I were to try to do them & get things like Dodoco Tales (The Klee Event Book) or the Dragonspine Sword, can I actually get the rewards?

I'm NGL, I'm scared to try this, but I kinda wanna. Hell, someone with a new account could try this for the sake of it, cause they don't have much to lose.

Reminds me of Ragnarok private servers, really takes me back and makes me excited about what the future could bring. Specially after the game inevitably dies and Mihoyo stops caring.
For me, it's more like using a cheat trainer on San Andreas (I never say it out loud, but something about the game reminds me of San Andreas). As per someone on their discord, there's apparently something about a quest creator & many other things.

In brutal & sheer honesty, I like the game, but goddamn, the handling of this game makes me wish it gets on the ventilator just for the sake of the fact that it may potentially give Mihoyo their reality check.

Well I think the game is made in Unity, judging by the game files. So a project like this was most likely to happen.

They are going to DMCA takedown this project sometime in the future. As for now its just a gutted Genshin with some console commands.
Not the whole thing.

Yeah past events. It would be ideal if we could play them base game as in some sort of catch up mode. But "money and player engangment".

Yep, but as you said that might change in the future. This is why i put the warning.

If the game rakes in the cash they might care for longer than you expect. Hell Honkai is 6 years old at this point.

While chances are high Genshin goes Dena ban happy mode for GBF where even suspected macros get the axe, this project will birth parasitic private servers in cases like, Elsword/Closers with Code Elsword/Closers sticking to the ass of originals and surviving for years.

Personally I think GI will end up like WoW.

The icons for the events are shown on the map, but the person who made the video never travels to any of the event locations so I cannot say for sure (but I assume no). It all depends on how vigorous Mihoyo has been in purging older events from the game's files to reduce the footprint for mobile players and the general state of the game/server interactions and how well they're being emulated. If I had to guess, I'd say there's a possibility of the original Dragonspine event being possible to play through in the future (I don't know if the emulated server can do quests/dailies properly, or even how the game itself handles event/version data). I'd wager due to Dodoco Tales being a one-off time limited map, that would require some tweaking of the actual game files as well as a copy of the game from a year ago when the event was running because there's no way that wasn't completely purged. Same for the recent Three Realm event.

At the very least, the unique map icons from prior versions have stuck around. It may be the case that only the audio/cutscenes have been purged as they would have the greatest footprint and the event text/mechanics have stuck around in the game archives. Hard to say without ripping apart the game to find out. The only things I can confirm via the video that are working fully are combat, leveling characters/artifacts/weapons, wishing, and worldwide teleportation(though it just immediately teleports you to location before everything has loaded in).

I'd love to play around with this, but unfortunately I just don't have the time to do so this week. It's quite bare bones at the moment, as this test video shows a complete lack of item/monster spawns, and I imagine all chests/puzzles are either missing or don't work as well. No idea about domains/resin/bosses, but I'd guess they're probably not working yet. So overall, a respectable start but still have a long way to go before it's a replacement for the game. But if you want to fight one of Childe's forms in the middle of Mondstadt with characters/weapons you don't own...you can do that, and you can do it right now.

Here's the one I saw. You technically can get the weapons, but I don't think you can win them. Also, they're in alpha testing so private servers are VERY buggy.

Also, the Discord is having a lot of fun with this.

If only many videogame companies allowed community servers like Valve did and remove many of their questionable gacha mechanics (while also overhauling the entire game to be like an RPG like it should have been), we would not resort to shit like this.

Finally finished the tree and have 7 more to complete the statue, then I'll be out of content for the time being.

Ayaka is level 70, but I'm REALLY tired of farming samurai. Shit tons for Ayato's Ascension and talents, more for the Haran, Shit tons for Ayaka and talents then even more for the Amenoma Kageuchi. I swear I'm checking every character/weapon from now on. If it uses those damn handguards I'm skipping it

Welp, we’ve now gone from “Delayed a Few Weeks” to “Delayed Indefinitely”

On one hand, it’s pretty shitty - I actually enjoy the game, and don’t want to see it go down, least not before whatever story content is finished.

On the other hand, shit happens, and I look forward to the ree-ing of the fanbase. Maybe the content drought will chase away the coomers, that might be too optimistic…

Hopefully more freemos for bigger delays.

I kinda wonder if it's just as fun without the gatcha. Like you could put broken as shit party but the power fantasy stops pretty quickly and the grind has no point beyond that.

Welp, if I’m reading Genshin’s Facebook post properly, seems like they’re going to be extending the current banners rather than give us a Filler Banner.

Plus some other “Follow Recipe’s for Primo’s” filler and a Talent Book drop event. Y’know, easy filler they probably had an intern churn out. Dates go up through May, guessing they’re hoping to be back in the office by June.
