An artifact video I watched recently talks about problems with system, but doesn't take into account the "What else are you going to do with your resin" side of things. If they are going to keep the RNG on top of RNG when it comes to artifacts, I'd really like to see either more artifacts drop per run or the resin cost drop a bit, since watching streamers dump 2000 resin and getting nothing seems to be a fairly common thing. A few actually tell you what pieces are fine if you aren't going for the 99% perfect piece, but not nearly enough.
The video looks okay but on practice it's everything i hear from every youtuber, "big rng = bad" which yeah thats valid but the video is full of bad to wrong takes.
If this is his gameplay then this dude kinda sucks. At one point he uses xinqiu skill on the water mage then bennet skill on pyro mage. Also brings raiden in a domain where her skill doesnt proc (shields) and another elec domain. Uses kazuha burst without swirling etc. Dude has 5* weapons and 5* cons and doesnt know how to play smh.

I'm gonna admit the artifact system is grindy and rng as fuck but it's has some forgiving aspects. 80% recycle value is surprisingly high, good pieces can be passed around you get fodder and some light resources while farming, good sets are unlikely to be powercrept, etc.. Also, optimization is a self imposed challenge, you're only done when you agree to stop.
I remember r/gachagaming saying genshin was dead on arrival due to "lack of endgame" but at this point it's obvious the artifact system works great as at keeping players playing daily for that one awesome god roll. The "endgame" is as hard and long as the player wants it to be.
Also if you're struggling to gear ayato, he can use gladiator and heart of depth very well. I'm almost glad i have him so i can give my HoD pieces to someone while i still farm a BS for ayaka and ganyu.
btw everyone do NOT farm the new set for ayato, it's allegedly ping dependent so it's thrash if your ping is high. (according to ayato discordcrafters who knows if it's true).
(that domain has terrible resin efficience anyway)
