someone who can make your life much easier for farming and bosses, like Venti who is coming next patch.
imo venti's overrated for that. bosses are mostly single target affairs, domains are easy enough you don't need his succ (worst case do them co-op till you can solo them). outside of that you'd only need him for certain abyss floors or combat events. he also needs more investment via VV to make him worthwhile. just not worth for the LOL CHEESE you get the first few times and few seconds you shave off farming stuff outside.
I got him like everyone else after launch because he was the first 5* and we all got showered in primos from two zones, but tbh haven't really used him much outside one specific spot on the archipelago event last summer because it pretty much was made for him or sucrose (anemo bonus + trash to vacuum).
I'd say if someone's not sure he/she wants a specific 5* or really wants a chance at the 4* and is willing to gamble on hitting pity/coinflip - just save. there is really no "need" for a certain char for 95% of the content (although geo ceo's absolute cheese shield does make things a lot easier).
that's how I was sitting on 200k primos before I fucked I my roll on the wrong banner (which I expect to still bite me in the ass later on depending how yelan plays and when yoimiya/kazoo re-run happens)
The only issue with Wanderer's Troupe is that it's only attainable through bosses, but I do have to admit that the effects are nice to have.
you'll also get a fuckload of it for leveling your chars. for the final ascension you need 46 boss drops
per char, which are at least 23 runs - not counting the runs you gonna have to do to get the gems, which before WL6 is even worse. and if you don't get wanderer's you get gladiator (perfect mix&match set due to it's generalist 2pc bonus, 4pc is also nice on a lot of melee chars). you'll also get exile which works well enough on pretty much every support. instructor/berserker are more niche but also have their uses.
way too many people sleep on the purple or offsets because they're not listed on MUH TIERLISTS, which are made by whaling sweatlords anyway so should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt. worse, outside the content that actually pushes for it (abyss and whale check events) there isn't even a need to farm yourself raw over BIS artifacts with BIS substats. those pieces will do more than fine for everything else - and considering you get showered in them and getting the right stat with the right substats that needs to upgrade right is the important part, feeding them into other stuff without ever looking how they develop first is a total waste (not to mention you can still feed them afterwards for 80% the exp, so you want to use them simply till you get something better, it certainly beats running your char naked or with a BIS set that has crap stats).
heck, can't find it again but there was even some theorycrafting that outside very specific sets like VV a mix of godroll artifacts will beat most set boni (and then the 2pc is easy enough to get usually). that was before the more char-specific inazuma sets, so not sure how it holds up.
and as
@Catgirls are Love said farming artifacts before WL6 is a waste of resin anyway.
even on WL8 I rather dump my resin on getting a character's last ascension and pushing their talents to 8/9 because fuck that RNG shit, sitting on way too many random and weekly boss drops anyway (and means if I really can't be arsed I just do 4/5 leylines for the day).
Don't use Lisa as an attacker you say?
as mentioned lisa's stats are a bit meh and she needs constellations (which take time, luck or loadsa money) and even then she's not that great, for a char which sub-dps role by all means can easily be replaced by another char - and that was before electro MC, which you literally get for free.
if you want a cheap and easy team: kaeya for dps, barb for heal, both work as freeze for crowd control (also gives you more leeway to learn attack patterns and kaeya's "nothing personal" attack chain helps with that too), plus kaeya's sword won't brake the ice (shatter's not worth it anyway): xianling for buff and melt, amber for baron bunny aggro (even works on fatui which makes hitting their backpack piss easy), both give pyro resonance for more ATK - and you want to have amber around while exploring anyway. you won't generate the big numbers and roflstomp everything, but with this you can pretty much kill everything you'll encounter in the wild (including most fatui, bosses and domains) without having to swap around etc., not even to cross-farm their stuff (barb-> pyrovine, kaeya -> oceanid, xl/amber -> cryovine).
here's what's making that combo even cheaper: put gladiator on kaeya, put exile on barb, put instructor/berserker on XL, put wanderer's on amber. then later on either move them to other chars or feed them into new artifacts.
the only hurdle you'll run into with that are certain domains/bosses, but then you can still switch it around a bit by moving artifacts/weapons to a different char - which means after you're done with the main bunch focus on others (you're capped by WL anyway), in your case I'd say noelle+ning; geo works for almost everything, shards give shield which makes stuff easier to survive and they both give geo resonance, you could even replace kaeya/barb with them first if you prefer that, geo hypostasis can be done with a lvl1 noelle. put wanderer's on ning, glad or exile on noelle (where else you gonna put those DEF pieces anyway?).
as for upgrades in general it looks more complicated than it its. first rule of genshin: almost everything worthwhile costs resin.
- character upgrades (not constellations) come from world bosses like the cryovine or hypostasis.
- weapon upgrades come from weapon domains which rotate daily (check the domain when which mat drops)
- talent upgrades come from talent domains, which also rotate daily.
- character exp (mainly) comes from leyline blossoms.
- mora (gold) accumulates over time, but if you need more there are also leyline blossoms.
- weapon exp comes from other weapons or forged ore (farming ore does not cost resin, but it's on a respawn timer. you can reforge for resin but that's not really worth it unless you really need it NOW). grab 10 each day for the BP or run the expedition.
that's what you'll mostly spend resin on, only difference is what you wanna focus on first (keeping domain rotation in mind). it also fills the battle pass easily (10 bosses, 15 domains, 20 blossoms). save at least 30/60 resin for all the weekly bosses since they have unique drops you only can get there and gonna need later (plus you got a chance for billets, get a bunch of artifacts and extra boss gems), they're always worth the resin (and of course there's a BP task for it too).
constellations and weapon refinements are basically getting a double: second time you get a char you get the stuff for a constellation, refining a weapon needs a duplicate of that weapon. so all you need to know is where the chars and weapons come from...
