This is me since the last 30 mins:

I know you can get it normal & sunny from the videos, how do I get rid of this weather? Archery is worse on mobile, on top of that, this shit is either throwing you out of the ring, or just straight up destroying the wrong targets.

Anyone else who spent money on the game feel like a retard for doing it?

I guess maybe because that's the first gacha game I've ever played, but I fell for the trap and now that I think about it spending money on this shit was kind of stupid of me.

Especially since I always pirate everything and very rarely spend any money on games. However this chink game got me buying every single battle pass plus every welkin from the very beginning. I also spent around €100 on Raiden rolls, 100 more for my Keqing C5 and 100 more on C1 Hu Tao. And no idea how much more on small resin boosts here and there.

And I'm wandering how do they do it for fuck's sake? Now I dont feel like playing but knowing Im in with money I dont wanna stop playing either.

Fucking game
waifus and enjoyment, later on sunken cost and lock in if your welkin is running ("don't wanna waste it").
I wouldn't spend money on crystals because I think they are meh value (and the "buy with bonus now before it refreshes" is another FOMO), but if you play every day might as well grab welkin, and if you have maxed your BP might as well get the rest (that's why you only buy it when you have maxed it, not before). it also depends how hard you play and what type of player you are, it's tempting to notlife something but that will only burn you out, maybe for good. as the saying goes "moderation is key" (in my case it also helps that I give a rat's ass about abyss and just enjoy it as a casual waifu grinder - if I wanna tryhard there are other and better games for that; they're also much cheaper. I save for the char I want, maybe I get it maybe not, then I'll just try again during a re-run).

if you enjoy something there's nothing wrong with spending money on it (only logical, otherwise the one giving you that enjoyment has to stop doing it), what it comes down to is value, what did you get in return, and how much money do you have in the first place because that gives it a relative value too. 300+ eurobucks might seem a lot, but how long have you been playing the game? even if we go by just a year (kek banner was last lantern festival) that's only ~30 eurobucks per month. people spend more than that on booze and cigarettes, and depending where you live that's 2-3 hours of minimum wage.

maybe just do your daily 20 minute shit, events on top and otherwise play something else. this way you don't feel like you completely wasted the money but get the enjoyment you were looking for somewhere else, till the interest drifts back (or stops for good, at which point you'll most likely have stopped caring about the money too for various reasons like time alone).

i ain't gonna say it's your fault for falling for the meme, but it's just how they prey on people to buy more and more. it's always "oh i need a little more for this, i'll get it this time if i spend now!" monkey brains do work in weird ways, and i won't lie and say it's not exploitative and bad practice, loot boxes and japanese gachapons are what set us back like 10 years in gaming.
people are dumb, that's why I can't really blame companies for doing it. if they don't do it someone else will, and most people would do it too if they're honest with themselves - it's easy money, who would pass that up? all of the "victims" are consenting adults and the numbers aren't that high so anyone with elemental grade math should be able to understand it.

it's also not just gatcha, it's easy to blame but in the end it's just a business model you voluntarily buy into. I knew enough people who, for some fucking reason, couldn't even balance a simple paycheck, long before the internet or gatcha (and before that f2p games) were a thing. some people are just shit with money to the point you have to wonder how they can be functional adults, as in IF YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY DON'T SPEND IT ON STUPID SHIT it's mindboggling, but people gotta consoom I guess, in any form they can.

I'm happy I didn't have to go through all of the quest, but just the first part of it. It's confusing as fuck to do, specially when you're on the lowest graphics settings. Finally reached Enkanomiya now.

Something I noticed lately is that this game has conditioned me into treating it like a chore. I can't enjoy new content because mentally this game is a background task. I mute the game, put on a podcast, and grind some commissions and spend my resin. I haven't fully explored Enkanomiya or done any of the recent character hangouts because that would require getting into the game and taking my time to enjoy it. I just don't feel like doing that anymore.

Exactly. Haven't explored shit and haven't done hangouts. With this new Enkanomiya event I feel like I have a shitton of hard chores to do for the next 30 something days. Usually I just mechanically go through the dailies and every new quest feels like I have a baby to give birth to.
Who the fuck even comes up with those quests????
  • go talk to X
  • now return
  • now go kill those 5 slimes
  • now go search for the faggot's dildo in an area with no nearby teleport waypoints
  • walk for a few minutes
  • now go talk to Y
  • now put the dialogue on auto and go smoke a cigarette, take a shit and pour a glass of vodka because when you return from the 20 minutes break the fucking dialogue is still going
  • now go talk to X again
  • now listen to the annoying Paimon
  • talk to Y again for a minute
  • go find the missing part of the dildo
I feel like selling my account to some chink for a 5$ Aliexpress giftcard will set me free.

Yeah Ive been feeling that recently. Its reasonable to not still feel excited to do the same shit over and over though, theres only so many times you can explore and chest hunt before it starts getting boring.
Ive just been doing my commissions, spending resin, then logging off. Think Im about halfway done with the new event but we've got 30+ more days to finish it
Also, yeah I haven't done any hangouts since Inazuma launched besides Gorou's and that was just to see how he played before he got released.

it's only 20 minutes a day and a weekend of chest hunting tho, and the new event map is trimmed down to event stuff. I can do the chores while cooking or just chilling with mates in voicechat, so no big deal. plus I kinda get too annoyed at myself for missing easy to do shit like the tanuki event when putting it off for too long (only done 2 hangouts in total...)

one thing I noticed was that they made it even easier to 100% the event (compass, showered in currency etc), bit bothered that they kinda dumbed it down so much, but otoh glad I don't have to run around looking for that ONE last missing thing for it. seems they're finally starting to figure out their playerbase is mostly casuals who will spend money on waifus anyway...

there's some dialog before and after to give you some background, rest is running around and clearing the map. of all the event stuff that's probably the least annoying/tedious, and it's only event stuff so you don't even have to pay attention that much.

it can appear tedious if you don't keep up with the prerequisite quests etc, but that "mandatory" stuff is like one story quest in a 6 week period you can easily speedrun and then ignore the rest. for example I hadn't cleared liyue months after release because I couldn't be arsed, and when the itch came back to do some exploring I finished it and actually enjoyed it.

I got bored and couldnt control myself. I'm addicted to pain so i went back to the CBT chamber today, but this time i left as a winner.

This is my first time 9*ing floor 12 and it surprisingly didnt take too long. I got the 20% atk buff, and tried a few times but i felt i was wasting the lack of xinqiu against pyro lector made it near unwinable for me. I tried to brute force a victory with a switch and when all the stars aligned i got it.

Didnt miss any Ayaka burst, i got ganyu 15% more ER to buff off cd (only 2pc cryo and mixed pieces), the marked sentinel was the cruiser (small one with least hp) and i made it backdash into the boss so i can burst with everyone there and still hit the boss, got it in less than 1:30. On b-side, shield and petridy the dogs, burst with benet, diluc, xinqiu+skill, didnt want to push them too far, managed to kill them fast. Ran back to pyro lector, push him close to mage and skill twice with xinqiu, zong burst, diluc burst, start hitting it. I go smack the mage while the lector pops off, after that i just farm energy for xinqiu, hit the herald and the ring with xinqiu skill and burst then keep smacking and praying the swords are fast enough. Turns out they are!

tl;dr: It was stressful and not worth the time but winning feels good. When everything falls into place and you realize how far you got, it makes all the hardwork (and autism) feel worth it. Funny, feels like a weight is off my shoulders and i can "finally" relax now. Gonna play less for this patch and focus on other stuff that i should.

Finally started the event & reached LvL 12 Bokuso Box in some hours. Now I just have to do the 3rd tower, which I'm thinking of fully leveling the box to LvL 15 beforehand.

The rift hounds are fucking cancerous to deal with, their creator deserves to sleep with an eye open every night.

Freeze teams work wonders against rift hounds.
I'm running on a mixture of Zhongli (not a good move, but I'm too used to it since last month to go back to just dodging midway), mixed with Ganyu, alongside a Beidou + Bennett Overloaded team (I put too much work in them to use anything else now). But the Freeze & Electro Charged does come on it's own due to all the water areas in there.

I just cant do Ayaka + Ganyu. Something about it just doesnt synergize with my autism. I run Shenhe+Ayaka+Mona+Diona for my freeze team needs. Hell its barely a freeze team, moreso just a fucking cryo nuke team kek. Mona is kind of not amazing at keeping stuff frozen unless you have succer or kazuha to keep applying hydro
Idr if I posted my clear for this cycle but yeah pretty much went pure metawhore:
screenshot_2022-02-16_22 25 31.jpg

Dont be fooled though, 12-1-2 is VERY tight with just Mona for the pyro shield. I have to basically perfectly rotate through everyones skills or else I'll time out and have to reset. Ive done it with XQ before, its way easier that way.

Good job there and i dont blame you. Ayaka/ganyu feels clunky as hell to play on practice, at least without venti. They have the same skill cd that is just a little too long to quickswap and easy to lose track, ganyu backdashes while ayaka has a unique dash, your muscle memory wants you to attack with both in two different ways, you have to burst with ayaka after ganyu but ayaka cd is longer, etc..

Not using Diona also means you skip on a decent shield so your playstyle has to change accordingly. My first hours were terrible cause i kept fucking up rotations, funneling and taking hits, took me a while to get the hang of it and i admit barbara drags it down a lot.

The next abyss i think might be harder depending on how it plays out. It gives electrocharge buffs but my only decent electro is beidou who still needs her talents lvled.

(Maybe two freeze teams? hmm)

Depending on how much time wolflord wastes flying, it might end up being pure cancer to fight. The batismal bosses also resurrect each other here (like the event) so that's going to annoying too.

btw the 2.6 abyss will have bonus anemo dmg on floor 11 and tons of light mobs on floor 12 so it's clear we are getting venti and/or kazuha rerun with Ayato. Now i want to save and skip kokomi and raiden again...

Wait this is for the abyss in 2 days right? Didnt it used to have those grey guys in it? Im sure it will be annoying in its own way but it looks like they nerfed it a fuckton since its initial leak which seems to always be the case with every abyss lineup ever, its like they never learn.
If its just a bunch of beatstick HP sponges with no gimmicks thats a lot easier to handle than the weird ass shield-succing gimmicks of the grey dudes. I think I'll be going either National or Cryo team first half and then Ning/Zhong second half.

In the beta yes, but after the update happened, dataminers found the next abyss in the files and there is no husk knight data, only sentinels. I assume it's cause the devs regret overnerfing them. Or maybe the fact that you cant practice against husks yet (there is only 6 in the event you fight once).

Also, i think the bosses were nerfed during the beta but they reverted it? Wolflord and the batismals at one point had 1.1 mil hp but here they have +1.5 million.

I'll probably go freeze ayaka on A-side and vape diluc on B-side but i'm not sure if my b-team can deal 3 million dmg in time, especially since xinqiu is single target. Only trying out to know.

2nd day of the event, & I already:
>Found all Luxurious Chests.
>Max leveled the Bokuso Box.
>Found all the other chests & challenges.
>Did the 3rd tower.
>Fought the fire cunt.
>Fought the retard reptile duo (fucking hate them).
>Fought them again for freemos (hate them even more).

All that, under 3 hours of gameplay. I swear if I was on PC, I may have completed it in a single day, under 8-10 hours of playing. But I'm still surprised that all it took was 2 days & only cause of the battery restriction a mobile understandably puts.

I'm not even joking, the biggest grind in this event for me is actually reaching Enkanomiya cause I had to start from the Dainsleif quest to completing till the 2nd chapter of Inazuma Arc, & I have yet to get to 3rd one.

That said, & this may be a hot take. I'm happy the event is long. In fact, I wish it stays a future precedent for events. Not a whole month for everything, but at least half a month, & everything at once, instead of drip-feeding like before.

As I said above, reaching Enkanomiya is the bigger grind for me, which took 10 days, to get to an event which could be completed in a single day. Now imagine if this event was 10 days long. I would've fucking lost before I even played.

which means when 2.5 rolls out you can jump right into the new stuff.

another thing I noted, with the longer duration people have more time to farm stuff to level the weapon, starting from scratch probably takes 1-2 weeks (I could calculate how long but can't really be arsed).

The beta was updated, ayato was buffed and an interesting new thing was found.

-Passive that gave 3% hp scaling on burst was changed to: Ayato now generates 2 energy per second when he's not on field, to a maximum of 40.

-Burst got +20%~ scaling on level 10, last 3 extra seconds (18) and now buffs 20% normal dmg instead of 12% atk speed. (technically a nerf for raiden teams).

-His c2 got slightly buffed (50% more hp after 3 slashes) and his c4 gives allies 15% atk speed instead of 20% normal dmg. Ironically, since he lost the hp scaling on burst, his c2 doesnt help his burst now. It's still there on skill.

-His sword was changed from getting 8x5 stacks on ally normal dmg to 2x20% stacks on ally skill cast. This means any basic rotation will give the sword holder 40% normal atk dmg, making it very easy to use.

-lvl 90 stats changed to 299 atk (buff), 13700~ hp (buff) and 769 def (nerf).

TL;DR: Ayato burst got better, energy issues are slightly less worse and his sword is ultra easy to get value but i dont recommend it on anyone other than him.

Ayato's is a less awkward now but his main issue still remains, he's a hydro character who is bad at hydroing solo. I feel he's designed to be played with xinqiu (who is said to be the free character in 2.6) but then you're not really getting a xinqiu alternative are you?

BONUS: New event furnishing in 2.6 shows Venti, xinqiu, kazuha and ayaka. This is the most implication this beta has gave us so dont be surprised if those 3 rerun with ayato and xinqiu is free.

1646073920040.png

Fun fact: They straight up stopped showing the rerun character on abyss disorder pictures and event art during beta because they would obviously spoil the reruns (childe and hutao, lantern rite).
