Event itself is fun enough, though not particularly challenging. I do like these events that either have us re-explore an area or introduce a new one, though like you mentioned above, I kind of went through it like a fat kid going through chips and now I'm just killing time until the Chasm is introduced. Hopefully it won't be another Dragonspine, or if it is there's at least some event-mechanic to make it less annoying.

for a minute I had flashbacks to the summer event and was wondering if the old enkanomiya map would come back intact since I still haven't 100% it - then I noticed it event runs on it's own map, so there's that.

there have been more events announced, pretty sure another whalecheck among them, which should bridge the time. as for chasm, there were some map leaks floating around (didn't bother saving it), but it looked like a clusterfuck - at least dragonspine was pretty open. and they probably won't just drop dendro as is, so expect some gameplay shenanigans especially since we'll most likely get a free dendro anyway so puzzles etc are not paywalled (can already see those fuck make yaoyao a 5* to milk that klee money)
personally was never really bothered by the cold effect on dragonspine, so gonna wait and see how much it bothers me down there.

I doubt any Newbs can catch up to and do this Event if they started this patch.

as someone who missed the tanuki reward (out of laziness, my own fault) by literally THREE FUCKING MINUTES I'm glad I can take my time.
it's also just the big patch event in it's own map, wouldn't be surprised if another one starts in 2 weeks in the overworld while it's still running.

there's also no winning, if they timegate it people will bitch and moan, if they just dump it out there to speedrun people will bitch and moan. least this way everyone can make their own choice.

I think /gig/ called it the yae/kokomi f2p option (although personally I think the crafted hp catalyst still works better for fishbarb).

I'm purposely coasting on the event thanks to the extended time limit. Realistically, most Genshin events only take a few hours total, they just time gate the shit out of it by only letting you play bit-by-bit, day-by-day, so I dig this new style. Also I'll take any opportunity to hear that Enkanomiya battle music again.

maybe it's to encourage players who haven't unlocked enkanomiya yet or aren't done going through the whole area? i know i still have a lot of ground to cover because i keep forgetting i can do more in genshin besides dailies and grinding. hell, i'm not finished with that foggy island in inazuma.

I did the enka event in 2 days, it was easy but pretty chill, an acceptable way to recycle content into an event, altho i hate how this is another event with heavy story importance (the reason the abyss went to enka + >reptilian people) but the default enkanomya isnt voiced and is treated like filler.

The new raiden boss is pretty rad, i've done it coop a few times and i love how it requires some ACTUAL strategy for once and bennet isnt an auto win. If you ignore the spheres you'll DIE and if you keep facetanking Raiden will get armor faster. One team i found did it like 10 times in a row with different team everytime for fun, one time the geo traveler accidentally trapped us right before the super long sword slam and we all died haha.

Also fought the husks (dark souls knights) and they must have changed from beta cause they definitely proc buffs on crystalize shields so geo gets fucked anyway. Except not really because those dudes are slowass jobbers who barely attack. They have a lot of HP but arent threats at all, they only stall at worst. The fire one is the hardest staller due to shield/armor but even that breaks itself in a short time. The soldiers hype them up as scary but i felt bad smacking them.

Asthetically its perfect for kokomi but it should be pretty decent on Mona if you have her, high base attack and free 48% ER converts to 9.6% hydro dmg. Its not a bad weapon but its no ones BiS, i already put mine on 90 thanks to the event bonus but i have nobody to use it lol.

If you want her for power then she is... average i guess? I dont have her but general criticism include

-Putting 3 turrets is clunky and time consuming. Doing a E-E-E-Q-E-E-E takes a few seconds and might fuck up rotations.
-Her skill does NOT have invincibility frames at all and does NOT snapshot (not good if subdps with bennet)
-Her burst cost 90 with 22s cd and her energy gen is average. Not amazing dmgwise either.
-Her normal and charge atk are (allegedly) painfully slow.
-Yaes ONLY utility is offering off field electro damage which Fisch can already do (altho fisch is only great at c6).
-She is electro aka none of the reaction increase her own direct dmg.

Her main strenghts are obviously 300% skill uptime, very good electro aplication and decent dmg but those are not enough to make her a meta defining unit. I think shes very usable as a raiden partner, an electro charge team or if you dont have fisch but want an off field electro.

Altho there is always the possibility she might get a lot better post release thanks to a new artifact set (skill dmg + buff on skill cast maybe?) or a new support made for her or just dendro being good for her. I wouldnt recommend it tho, unless you like her enough and dont mind risks or powerlevels.

I love her, but I'll be real, she's very much a vanity unit, so if you don't have much attachment to her as a character, she's an easy skip. I'll list out some pros/cons that I've noticed.

Pros:
-Viable with any artifact that translates to raw power or improves burst uptime, but can also work with TotM or NO for support.
-Wide variety of catalyst options, she benefits way more from the substats than the weapon passives in some situations.
-Huge nuke potential if properly set up.
-Fox totems provide better coverage than Oz and while the dash doesn't have i-frames, it at least offers a stamina-less backstep/sidestep while repositioning, unlike Midnight Phantasmagoria which is completely vulnerable for the entire duration.

Cons:
-Burst uptime is rough at C0 unless you have Raiden or Fischl and a good amount of ER.
-Her C1 is like Hu Tao's in the sense that they're constantly dangling a huge QoL boost in your face and you just have to either give in or suck it up.
-Dash feels like it should have i-frames, it just doesn't.
-C6 Fischl is a viable and potentially cheaper replacement for many of Yae's comps. Yae needs burst supports like Raiden, Sara, or Mona to feel unique.

Neutral:
This is more subjective to the team comp, but Yae can feel clunky if there's a limited window to throw out her burst. Ideally, you want to set up turrets, set up support, and then burst before the turrets expire so you can set them up again for the smoothest rotation. A dedicated hyper carry however, can ruin this rotation by being on the screen for too long and will let the turrets expire, which requires an awkward EEEQEEE combo just to set up again. This is all just to say that Yae is much more fluid to play with other units that don't need to be on the screen that long to do their job, so team building can require a bit of experimentation.

if you play on pc hook up a gamepad and chill on the couch while doing it. much more comfy.

enkanomiya's main story isn't that long, what might trip people up is that you have to unlock some extra stuff afterwards before the event starts. I'm still missing some parts because I couldn't really be arsed to 100% (first I was sick, then rather playing something else).

besides the gameplay remember they put in dual banners, so she's probably having a re-run sooner rather than later (I assume 3-4 months, together with ayaka, because fuck you). was about to roll on her but I already got two 4* at c6 and no interest in thoma, so I'm waiting to get diluc'd again when rolling for fishbard (there's a severe lack of hydro chars and I want to poke her belly button)

I've just unlocked Inazuma today & have still 2 Archon quests to do. I play on mobile so battery limit puts a time limit of playing for me, which makes it harder to grind. Plus, I haven't even explored Inazuma yet.

This whole event, from what I've read, could actually be done in 8-10 hours of grinding. If this is true, then it means I will complete this event in 3-5 days. So yeah, I'm happy Mihoyo made it 40 days long.

Ayatos skill was buffed in the beta, they reduced his base cd and removed the rule that requires allies to attack, exactly as i expectred.

1hit 86%->104.6% (+18.6%)

Hp% 0.87% -> 1.11% (+0.24%)

They did the same with Yae skill. Its like the devs really want to push this type of skill CD reduction on someone but later realize its retarded so they have to remove it.

This change means ayato is a lot easier to comp around (quick swap, only him as field attacker) and synergizes fully with raiden, but if no one else normal attacks, this means his atk speed buff is wasted and his own sword doesnt work well on him lol. His remaining weaknesses are the expensive burst and icd but i dont think theyre gonna change that since the devs are very careful with hydro aplication. Its clear they want ayato to be the dps and not the enabler, if hydro resonance didnt suck, he would be great with xinqiu.

I'm tempted to go for C1 Yae Miko just because the non-reruns look around the same power level as her, and I have 5* catalysts and the team comp. Maybe the Archons will be the exception, but I think they're trying their best to prevent the next Ganyu/Hu Tao/Kazuha where the character is just meta.

while I wouldn't put it past them, there aren't really any other chars with titles (or that would fit anyway, like "Daughter of the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Clan") and the other archons are incognito. it's more likely they did to prevent spoilers. and she is the "electro leader" after all.

I guess maybe because that's the first gacha game I've ever played, but I fell for the trap and now that I think about it spending money on this shit was kind of stupid of me.

Especially since I always pirate everything and very rarely spend any money on games. However this chink game got me buying every single battle pass plus every welkin from the very beginning. I also spent around €100 on Raiden rolls, 100 more for my Keqing C5 and 100 more on C1 Hu Tao. And no idea how much more on small resin boosts here and there.

And I'm wandering how do they do it for fuck's sake? Now I dont feel like playing but knowing Im in with money I dont wanna stop playing either.

i ain't gonna say it's your fault for falling for the meme, but it's just how they prey on people to buy more and more. it's always "oh i need a little more for this, i'll get it this time if i spend now!" monkey brains do work in weird ways, and i won't lie and say it's not exploitative and bad practice, loot boxes and japanese gachapons are what set us back like 10 years in gaming.

don't feel forced to play if you don't like playing it anymore, you can always just drop off a little while and come back just fine.

You didn't spend money on the general banner, I hope.

You need a goal here and not fall into FOMO. For example, you may not want Yoimiya that badly after having a C1 Hu Tao. In my case, I am opting out Yae since I have already a healthy electro roster and don't need her just to electrocute sakura petals. I also stubbornly stick to teams that shares already farmed artifacts (BS,VV, CW) and apply the pressure of farming new artifacts when i think about getting new characters.

It took me 3 months to arm Raiden. You can use your own farming experiences to deter yourself from consooming the new character immediately.

Now I do spend on Grumblin' Reepact. Not close to your amount, but I am pretty happy with my purchases by long deciding on what I wanted, how and who I want that character to perform with and how far will I go to get it.

You can ask yourself questions to sort out the FOMO mindset.
Do I need or want character X ? Does it fit most of the teams I play, or do I need to unearth benched characters and (RE)FARM new artifacts to enjoy X to the fullest ?

And lastly, look at your already abundant character roster, instead of planning what you want next, arrange the ones you already have into new teams and have fun with them. I shoved Hu Tao into my Raiden team just to bully Geovishaps with overload/vape randomness. The DPS becomes a mess but it is still fun due overload knocking them around half the time.

I guess ill just give it a month rest, right now every time I start the game I feel the way I felt when I had to go to school in the morning. Like I sincerely don't wanna do it but absolutely must do it no matter what. A game has never felt so much like a chore before.

Nah, there was a Keqing reroll some time last year and I already had C1 from the general banner so really wanted to get some more of her. She was my first ever 5* and I had lots of fun playing with her.

Farming artifacts in Genshin has to be the most soul crushing experience a game has ever presented. I have Ayaka since the day she got released and I still dont have a good 4 piece BS after spending months and months of daily farming the domain.
