xingqiu works best with pretty much any team composition so he's a safe bet to take if he doesn't show up on either of the 2.3 banners any time soon, ningguang is a lil more niche unless you have some of her cons.
i'm gonna be taking yunjin home from lantern rite, meanwhile, i love her but not quite enough to lose my long-saved guarantee on coomerbait shenhe. quite funny that, at least in communities i hang out in, people have shut up about shenhe in favor of ganyu rerun. still highly predict ganyu will break raiden's record sales
It probably helps that shenhe is looking incredibly underwhelming from the beta, or at least waiting to find her niche.
Her main gimmick is that when she uses her skill, she passes a "quill" that gives the team flat bonus damage based on a % of her attack, and that bonus uses the attacker crit/cd. This means you can literally just stack ATK% on shenhe, pass it to someone else and have them use it that.
So what's the problem?
1-The quills are limited to 5-7 hits per team member
2-The quill only works for CRYO DAMAGE
3-The quills count towards EACH HIT for any enemy
In other words, if my team is Ayaka/Shenhe/xinqiu/Sayu, half my team cant use her buff and ayaka can only use it for 5-7 hits, which isnt even a full combo or half her burst. Shenhe's burst gives 10% cryo dmg (later buffed to 15%) and shreds cryo and phys resistance by 15% (on level 10).
This means she cant boost Eula since Eula hits physical instead of cryo (so what's the point of phys shred lol).
Shenhe's basically has 3 huge flaws:
1-If you want to get the most value out of her quills, you gotta do mono cryo, which doesnt work AT ALL. You cant even use blizzard strayer set without hidro for freeze and by that point you also want anemo shred.
2-Her buffs are pratically non existent against crowds since each enemy hit consumes a stack.
3-Alleged energy issues and 80 cost bursts with low multipliers, they even nerfed her combo (why?).
She seems designed to support Ganyu/Ayaka single target dmg but who the hell asked for that? Hell, ganyu is already a better cryo support who gives 20% cryo dmg. There's also diona, rosaria and xong who are all viable and solid.
Yunjin on the other hand is looking okay i guess. She's not a shielder but skill is literally Beidou's counter with Geo and defense scaling. Her burst boosts the team's normal attack dmg by her defense and her cons give normal atk dmg at c2 and atk speed at c6. She's not limited to any type of dmg and her buff lasts 30 hits so it's already way more flexible, probably good with yoimiya or kokomi.
And since sales were mentioned, just want to point out that Hu Tao already broke Raiden sales, to the point it fucking crashed the chinese servers.
