I was bored i decided to finally try the abyss floor 12 for the sake of it, i thought i wouldnt stand any chance at all but... I've done it! I finished floor 12 of abyss! Okay, it was technically 2/9 stars but i've done it! And right at the FINAL HOUR of the abyss too! I feel so good about it, wooo!

I had to put Diluc/Bennet on second half to beat the ice cicin, then picked fishl to hit the eye of the storm and proc ToM+overloads while xinqiu isnt bursting. Ayaka's run was slow and safe, just watched for magu kenki oneshotting barb/sayu and it's cool, she took down the robots in less than a minute. Diluc felt more tiresome since all his fights felt much longer and if i fucked up i had to do ayaka's again.

Also, HOLY SHIT THE MECHANICAL ARRAY REALLY HAS +2 MILLION HP HUH. I think i spent almost 9 minutes smacking it nonstop and only clutched it out at the final 10 seconds, after fighting the minions like 3 or 4 times.

I feel like i aint 9*ing floor 12 so soon and you know, i'm okay with that. This was stressful as fuck but also fun and that's what this is all about to me. I see a lot of whining about abyss getting harder which is probably true but shut up, i'm f2p and i'm not complaining about it. Hey, even if i dont get the gems i get a decent amount of resources which helps.

I'm out of mora rn but i'll get xinqiu and sayu on 80 already since they need it, and train ninguang too. My next goal? Get ayaka's burst on level 10. I fear it's too late to pretend Diluc isnt my "main character" but Ayaka was the one who earned my first crown.

Yeah the array had a ton of HP bloat, I was finishing with less than 20 seconds to spare. Theres an exploit where you can open a menu and then wait a certain amount of time and it'll instantly go into the phase where it summons adds, apparently thats much faster.
The new 12-3 has 2 waves of a Ruin enemy + 2 array cube minions each. The array minions make it kind of annoying with all their invulnerability and teleporting around and shit but at least now its more even so you can actually get the full amount of value out of both teams/permafreeze comps.
These are the teams I used for both the new and old floor 12:

Before Albedo and Gorou come out I'm trying to finish building xiangling and maybe sucrose too so I can just go full national team. Right now she's using a pretty scuffed pyro set and level 60 Catch

Yeah, i did that exploit before, not for abyss but for the achievement where you dont beat the minions to stun the core (yes, if you wait 5 minutes they all break for no reason lol). PSA: The patchnotes already fixed it so the devs knew people were exploiting it on abyss and you cant do it anymore.
 
Okay I'm finally caving and building Xiangling and Sucrose. I said I didn't need to for a long time because I have Venti and Diluc but they are just too good. Tbf my XL is basically already 75% of the way there. C6 and level 80/80 with like 1/11/11 talents. I just didn't want to grind the new set but I mean I guess artifacts are just the entire endgame anyway. Sucrose on the other hand was pretty much at level 40 with zero investment until today. Spent all my fragiles to level their weapons and get some boss mats. She's also C6, think I got her cons from Klee's rerun. Also I just read Suc's C6:
" If Forbidden Creation - Isomer 75 / Type II triggers an Elemental Absorption, all party members gain a 20% Elemental DMG Bonus for the corresponding absorbed element during its duration. "
Holy shit I thought the Kazuha "sucrose sidegrade" memes were just shitposts but she really is Kazuha lite kek

Before Kazuha came out she was Venti lite just because she could pull enemies together.

Also, how did you get C6 Xiangling, because she cannot be a featured character in a banner like the other F2Ps? Or did you get her from standard pulls? Wish I could get a C6 Lisa or Kaeya just for the memes.

I finally reached AR55 today, and it only took me 2 tries to finish abyss 11 (chamber 1 was harder than 3 lol). Feeling like a real big boy genshin player now.

BTW my brother unlocked the inazuma treasure compass and asked me why it costs 500 instead of 50k like the others. Even the wikia says it's 500.

This is PROBABLY a bug and they will probably fix it by 2,3 so if you hadnt got it already go unlock and craft it. It's not much but you save near 50k which is something i guess. I should unlock it in 1-2 weeks.

Yep, it’s a bug that they’ve already noticed and have stated they’re fixing in the next patch, so best craft it now.
 
Well, the new event so far seems fun enough - I like the concept of a Labyrinth Domain, hopefully they do more with it. I’ll take this over “Build a DPS Check” style Events any day of the week.

Doesn’t have a Stupid Meme Weapon though, so loses points there.
 
The new event is okay in concept but kinda lame so far in execution. You basically go around clearing small enemy rooms while getting tiny random boosts and potentially a curse. The only time i died was when i was running around at low health and a random trap wrecked me. The only time i felt threatned was when the "you cant heal nor resucitate" curse hit my xinqiu. The zones have no variety other than a few bomb barrels and the paper powers feel like overkill.

It's also lacking in QoL stuff. They put random temporary speed boosts between rooms so why not make the player automatically faster when out of combat anyway? I also didnt find a way to see what buffs i had stacked so i forgot what i had.

I was expecting more extreme "roguelite" shit, like straight up changing your characters, skills and gear so you're forced to adapt. It also lacks risk X reward features, like intentionally getting curses for free stuff or tradin free healing for a chest. You can pick "extreme" challenges but they're barely any different from default?

It's not that hard and time gated which is cool but it's not something i'd like to do over and over again or try an endless run (is the map even randomized?). Either way the idea is good, hopefully it gets better on next dungeons or next time.

Edit: The portuguese translation is AWFUL again btw. The first stage has a completely different name in different tabs ("scary realm" vs "ominous domain") and i dont even know how that's possible.
 
I thought it was going to be cool at first but then I played it a second time and I was like wait this is just 20 venti rooms in a row and then youre done.
 
Not too much replayability for rewards since my first clear gave me all of the rewards other than "clear this without using a healing thingamajig" and let me max everything I could. Next run I'll bring along Kekqueen and see if she can just jump over the curses as the "This character can no longer heal" is slightly annoying when you're fighting Rift Hounds.
 
I have some weird bug on the ps5 that the game starts installing an upgrade and just stuck on a 128KB/s download that seems to never end. Guess I can try removing the game and reinstalling.

lol why doesnt the sucrose themed custom phone doesnt come with a single copy of Sucrose herself? I know "gacha gotta gacha" but she's a 4* and this a very specific and expensive product. It would be insane (and hilarious) to buy a custom vydia waifu themed cellphone while not having that waifu yourself.

BTW i'm proud to say that i have finally used my first crown.

I'm the kind of player who NEVER uses limited stuff no matter what game i play because i might need it for later (i 'm finished fire emblems and chrono trigger without ever using stat boosts lol) so i was actually getting stressed over using crowns or not. I mean, what if i get someone better than ayaka later and never use her again? Wasnt that all a waste? But screw it, i dont want to think about that so i just did it. Ayaka was my first 5* dps, she is fun, strong, flexible and has an OP burst. If i ever come to regret this choice, i should have more crowns anyway so who cares.

TL;DR: Friendship ended with Diluc, now Ayaka is my best friend.

I'm the same way. I just recently used my first crowns after indefinitely saving them for no reason. I crowned Ganyu's normal attack and Bennet's, Venti's, and Raiden's bursts. I finally figured that I'm sitting on 13 of these, I might as well make the characters I'm going to be using forever the best they can be.
