Yeah, it's unfortunate for players but come on, lets not pretend a videogame company being greedy ever stopped people from playing their games. I've been playing less genshin lately but it's mostly thanks to reaching AR 52 and being kinda burned out, on top of having very very busy weeks on a row.

On some other news, i've seen this popular "theorycrafter" named Tenten (i do not recommend, guides were worse than useless to me) post a video saying the real reason mihoyo wont give the players better rewards is because... the chinese government doesnt want kids to spend all day playing games. YES, he legit says says mihoyo was forced by law to not give rewards to not encourage gaming addiction.

The current level of genshin youtuber lunacy. The backlash was so bad that he got +1k dislikes and unlisted the video in less than 2 hours. He might delete it eventually tho.

man i don't even care bout the anniversary anymore, they had their chances to give somethin good and didn't, that's entirely on them.

i think what i enjoy the most about this game isn't even the characters or story or exploration, even though those are all top-tier so far. it's the music, man
soft n relaxing for the most part, perfect vibe for everything. and when it goes hard it goes hard
very excited for the concert comin up! that's at least guaranteed entertainment.

Personally I wouldn't have dumped so much time into the game if the soundtrack wasn't so comfy.

Since I spend most of my game time keeping up with BP tasks it's such a chore be up to date on questing. For permanent ones it's not so bad but a lot of these event quests drag on and on, this particular one's pretty painful even when skipping through dialogue in a lot of the scenes. The frustrating thing is that the game gets so anal about having a character in more than one place at once so you have to do a whole other quests involving them just to free them up and continue the one you were at. It's just a tangled web of a bunch of different variables where it's not always clear what the chain of events is supposed to be even when I'm trying to look up help online

Oh hey it finally happened. Happy birthday i guess...

Top fucking kek. Wonder how much that leaker I posted the other day got hurt by trying to say “No, there’s something amazing coming, trust me bro!”

Look, no ones gonna stop playing Genshin over the Anniversary being shit, you know why? They’re modern gamers - they have this cycle of getting irrationally pissed off about petty shit and then forgetting about it literally 30 seconds later. Least the older ones can remember a time when they were allowed to say Nigger over voice chat, but they still haven’t learned that Gamer Boycotts don’t do shit…

focus on the world quests since they unlock stuff, then story quests related to characters (not all of them are necessary tho). everything else you can usually do whenever you want.

as for the BP, there's no need to go out of your way to do all of it: the daily missions are the stuff you want do anyway (log in, 4 commissions, burn 150 resin, collect 10 ore from expeditions or stepping outside for a minute, which gives you 645 exp per day, or 4515 per week), the weeklies are an extend of that:
- 10 bosses/15 domains/20 leylines and 3 weekly bosses are the stuff you spend your resin on anyway,
- reputation stuff you wanna do for the mora as well (and you have a whole week to do it, so no need to do it all in one go on monday, plus the inazuma ones are faster)
- 20 ore/food hardly takes a minute, refining ore you want to do anyway since it's capped per day, 20 food takes less them a minute if have automatic cooking unlocked (or just work on unlocking the ones that still need it, you want a certain amount anyway for an achievement).
- 1000 realm currency you want to grab too since it's capped and you want to buy the artifact exp and extra resin every week.
- if you do your stuff every day you automatically hit the 1200 resin cap

just one of the bosses/domain/leyline missions on top of that list already puts you at ~9700, and 10k is the weekly cap. you don't even have to create the 10 furnishings or buy 2 in coop.
on top of that the period missions don't count for the weekly cap, and every event gives at least 1500 if not more, plus the 50 wishes (or abyss).

I haven't done the event yet, else would have hit 50 today. but I will definitely hit it tomorrow with 2 weeks to spare (and that's only because I was lazy in the first week where I couldn't cap it). there really is no need to stress yourself if you just focus on the stuff you should do anyway, and that's only 20 minutes. then do the story whenever you feel like (I think most stuff unlocks at 20-30, with inazuma at 40 iirc.). don't forget spending resin gives you AR exp too, so every resin you spend levels you up inevitably.

or you simply don't expect anything so no need to get hung up about it. but I assume that's the same type of player that still preorders games...

Disappointing yet expected.
In any other Gacha game, a single 10 pull would just be a normal event reward, defiantly not something anniversary worthy.

Edit: Apparently they also disabled editing signatures, again.
China gonna China :story:

Mihoyo's never going to give out shit as long as there are still crazy people who shell out thousands to C6/R5 limited banners. It sucks, but considering the business model, there's not much people can do unless they put their money where their mouth is and quit en masse. Until we hit a breaking point though, nobody should expect anything different from what we've been getting so far.

All of this anniversary stuff is just lunacy to me, we've already known the rewards for months and it seems like people have just been doing whatever to cope other than accepting the fact that those are the rewards. I get that other games treat it like a bigger thing and give out more but this isn't whatever those games are that people will name. Maybe I'm crazy but that seems fine to me, I had no expectations for anything bigger though anyway.

What's embarrassing yet hilarious is that there isn't a single news post mentioning the anniversary anywhere ingame.
Hell, if you had no knowledge that the anniversary was even a thing the "Passage of Clouds and Stars" would just look like a login event.

Like I don't play a lot of Gacha games, but what I do know is that for something like an anniversary they would market the hell out of it and plaster the news everywhere, Mihoyo almost seems reluctant at this point to even acknowledge it.

yeah, it's one of the reasons people expected something more than the usual 60 primos. giving away currency doesn't cost the company anything, if it doesn't even generate sales in the first place. it's much cheaper to make news by splurging with ingame stuff than having to spend hard cash on another marketing push.

I mean this way they still make headlines, but I think they got "any news is good news" wrong. maybe they didn't want to "raise expectations unrealistically" or something equally stupid, but I would expect even the most retarded normie gets that it's an anniversary reward...

There is a theater webevent going on where you watch a summary of your journey, it's not much but it's cute. You get 40 gems for watching and 20 for sharing, and then 5 bonus gifts if you pass the link to another player and they can open gifts for themselves. Ideally, you trade links so everyone open theirs.

tl;dr: do the thing and get 100 gems + some xp/gold/ore

In 75 days, i killed ~8.5k hilichurls and +5k slimes huh. Turns out bennet was the first character i got lvl 10 friendship? Makes sense, i got him early and he pretty much never left outside of coop). But somehow Diluc is my most used character on domains? More than ayaka and bennet? I guess he really took her place afterall...

Not a real "anniversary gift" but i apreciate the effort. I already got all gifts and shared on reddit but if you guys didnt do this already, you copy the links here others and get the gifts from one another. You can also click "visit others" and it will search automatically.

it's very well put together imo, i like the lil details like saying i should have found more chests and reprimanding me for not doing enough shit like my sakura tree roflmao

unsuprisingly, my first 10 friendship character and character with most domains is hu tao. i ain't ashamed in sayin i love this girl 100%, and even if she wasn't my hardest hitter i would still keep her permanently on my team. i wish everyone wanting to get her a very nice c1 tao on her banner!

They really are going full China right now, "you cannot complain!" turned to 200%.

Apparently they went from 5min slowmode, to 10min slowmode and people were spamming the Qiqi emote in chat

And now it's been disabled entirely.

You're gonna have to share some popcorn cause this is fucking great :story:

EDIT: The Google Playstore rating dropped all the way from 4.7 to 2.5 in the span of a day :story:

How long until they start deleting reviews and boosting their rating back up?

This is the most fun to come from this anniversary, thanks for the gift devs! I'm surprised comments and likes are still enabled, all things considered.

Edit: Aaaaand they dont stop coming and they dont stop coming and they dont stop coming and they dont...

I'd be amazed if they will actually succeed in getting a change. Also amazed that they manage to spell Anniversary correctly.

It's improbable but if anything can make mihoyo aware of the backlash, it's actually the google store rating. Console and PC games can live with multiple review bombs because they market themselves but apps need +4/5 rates to be recommended and +3/5 to not be dismissed as thrash on sight. There are tales of minor mobile devs who will get review bombed but instead of fixing the game, they will relaunch the same exact game with a different title in order to "reset the score" and pretend nothing happened.

This bombing might not hurt genshin now but it will hurt on the long run so it's not something they can simply ignore. So we either getting some "please shut up" reward OR they'll find a way to delete the reviews.

BTW the 2.2 livestream will be on october 3 during the TGS in japan, i'm gonna guess they'll shut the on all streams again.
