Genshin subreddit recommended me this random genshin video that, for once, was short, higheffort and didnt make me wince. From a very small channel too huh, probably cause reddit steals their content so they dont get views.


I didnt deep dive into genshin youtube but from my little experience it's one the worst youtube communities out there. All the popular videos are either:

-Clickbait in EVERYTHING. Like, even the "good ones" use clickbait, it's insane.
-zoomer memes that i dont get
-Godawful characters guides that are exactly the same on every channel. I watched 30 ayaka videos and learned fucking nothing useful. Even the few brasilian channels i watched ripoff others.
-non stop dishonesty/outrage bait. Every new character is either "the most op ever" or "so shit you gotta kill yourself".
-drama whores, elitists, >memers and autists everywhere
-trivia, animations or MMD dances (not my preference but fine)
-Comment section is a mindless hivemind of people begging youtubers to tell them how to waste their money
-violent obscession with theorycrafting, meta, waifus, etc (i expected this tbh)

It feels like all youtubers treat viewer like a brainless moron. If you need a youtuber to tell how to play and who to roll, then you didnt tryhard enough for this to matter. But maybe i'm wrong tho. Are there any genshin videos or tubers/streamers you guys watch or are worth watching?

and I gotta admint some of the .exe videos make me chuckle, but otherwise sturgeon's law is absolutely true.

I like the "character ranking for support/mobs/bosses" that has no consistent logic and uses retarded anime tropes. Like nearly every character is SSS effective against bosses, while a few are A and if they are support/traveler/meme they get a C.

the difference is they just use genshin like most games as a vehicle for shenanigans and do stupid stuff on stream, while most of the "community" streamers go full sweaty and tryhard. for me it's more enjoyable to see some animu grill play a game (and usually suck at it, but they are japanese, so if they play stuff like monhun they tend to go sweaty themselves which can be it's own fun) than someone that thinks it's super serious. helps that I can collect my own info and "built" chars (not that the game is hard), so I have no real need for their hot takes anyway.

I mean I wouldn't take stuff like this as a valid representation of the game or anything:

This. Back when i was playing i was just using Diluc/beidou, qiqi and lisa/fischl for the entirety of my playthrough especially farming the bosses
Even though i had keqing there wasn't much point using her when my lisa and fischl already had a high leveled 5☆ weapon and artifacts.
 
I only watched the last quarter of it, but the stream they did for the 1 year fan submission stuff was actually pretty entertaining and didn't seem like it was limited to only Chinese submissions.
E:yt version, EN version also happened but it seemed completely soulless.

Most of this stuff seemed way too high production to be part of the fanart competition though. Like that Childe Zhongli video had a big list of staff on it. No way they would do that for free and in the timeframe that mihoyo announced the fanart contest.
 
Guys it's only 2 days till the anniversary (28 ) and no signs of that alleged "anniversary stream" that is totally different from the fanart stream and will totally show a bunch of cool rewards they've been hiding. Does this mean it's over? The dream is dead? Is this really it? 10 fates from some login event (that isnt even a new event) and then straight to 2.2 patch stream?

At least they tweeted about the lunar event coming tomorrow. I guess a fish claymore is cool too...

This game preys hard on FOMO + ultra low drop rates and you expect me to believe people can simply BUY (random) limited 5*s? Bullshit. Absolutely impossible. Like, i cant think of something more impossible, what the fuck. Even a free 5* sounds realistic next to this.

This isnt copium, this is fake concern / bait. Reads like something a troll would say to overhype naive people.

There is also a curious lack of skins there. The devs would never do all of this and NOT find a way to sell skins but i guess they didnt think about that. You could at least pretend Jean's skin will be avaiable for gems too, which is equally impossible but would at least support the lie.

This is Mihoyo we're talking about, the same company who did a 1billion primogem giveaway only for everyone to get 108 gems, and even that was locked behind getting 5 lanterns in a shit web event RNG.

I'd be seriously surprised if we even get the free 4* and get to pick it on top of that.

GI side of MHY is weird and anti-coomsumer in a way that it hurts my tiny brain. Still want to believe though, since Cygames, a veteran competitor does have suptix offers so it won't be totally out of mind for MHY to put up similar offers for $$.
Though it should be no skin of everyone's nose if MHY still insists to be stubborn.
 
Oh I entirely doubt it myself, it just screams “oh shit, we might lose clout as leakers” or some shit. The guy was trying to bullshit, yet went so far to the opposite end of the spectrum that if anyone actually believes it I’d be amazed. It was just too fucking retarded not to share.

Granted I also play FGO, so maybe I’m just used to being shafted by the game and devs, but this whole Anniversary Being Shit thing seems like it’s been blown massively out of proportion.
 
I really doubt antone will stop playing over the anniversary. Besides the normal reason of gamers being dumb consoomers, the amount of money and time people invested in the game makes signing off a huge case of sunk cost.
