So because of my weird situation I just don't really spoil character previews for myself so the moment II booted up the game and played the new one's preview challenge thing I was laughing my ass off because I was like "eh looks nice but pretty plain and oddly not themed to the area save for the luchadore mask" but then gameplay wise she's just fucking THIS SHIT
I missed the writhsly and furina rerun, for some reason got to like 17 pages without pity hitting, and of course the second I get the chance to roll after that shit I unlock the character.
Also her idle animation is just that one scooby doo sandwich gag that was kinda surreal to witness on a non shaggy character.

Grind quests, do lore, rolls out the ass.

Also the people that were throwing s a shitfit over the character not being obese get BTFO by the game just blatantly spelling it out through dialogue in the character quests and various shit thats hard to miss around the area that it's because the character has a nightmarishly freaky high metabolism to the point if they go without eating stuff at certain points in the day they just fucking suffer actual health issues.

By the way the bionicle inspired feeling shit this update is so fucking intense. The lost stone dragon city under the volcano that somehow had it's own sky despite that just fucking SCREAMED bionicle.

Aksed my mom to roll 30 on varesa's banner at 35/90 guarantee and got Chevruse 6 then fav spear than Gaming C6. It was not "lucky" but other than getting iansan it was best case scenario, she is way luckier than me. I won't get varesa for now, better wait to see if i like varesa her the next beta characters

I took of week break from genshin due to tribe nine addiction and simply logging back and seeing the theater and abyss icons in the map makes me feel tired. Tribe nine """endgame""" being simply a loot dungeon with no boss timer makes me realize how pointless abyss is. Imagine getting stressed over 50 gems haha...

btw here is Escofier the next 5* cryo waifu

She looked okay until i realize she's basically only wearing an appron and a strapped frilly skirt. Her back is bare and her tail is fake (plugged on). Her weapon is a fork (spear) with devil wings. Her hat has fake devil horns too.

Her kit is as leaked. Skill throws frozen food in intervals, ult does damage and heal everyone at once, and passive decreases cryo and hydro res for every hydro+cryo on the team. Her C2 gives her shenhe quills but 3x stronger (240%) so at c2 she is just better shenhe. Not worth for me when i can just slap xilonen on ayaka and kazuha has crowd control that matters most when freeze works but if her damage is good she'll probably be strong enough to use outside freeze.

The next unit being cryo is pretty much a no brainer given they released a new cryo artifact set that seemingly no current unit can really use.

Except the next cryo unit that releases with the new cryo artifact can't use that cryo artifact. It only works on units "without energy" (like mavuika who doesn't want it). Eveb if Escoffier could use it, she is a freeze subdps and wants blizzard strayer.

It's obviously Skirk set but she's not here yet, Hoyo is simply giving everyone the privilege of farming it a full patch earlier.
 
managed to win my 50/50 and get varesa. also finally got chevreuse after somehow avoiding her this long + iansan. 3 new characters, i didn't pre-farm for anyone, and i ran out of xp books halfway through. i'm going to be farming for weeks. that's not even accounting for the new artifact domain...

No lol, only i do, she rolled on my account for funsies. Since my recent luck in genshin has been terrible (going +80 on both arle and clorinde, losing 50/50 to diluc twice in a row, didnt even get chevruse c6 etc) i'd rather have anyone else press the 10 pull button. Would've asked my brother if he was free.

I went full pity twice in tribe nine (game has no soft pity rip) then asked her to roll on my account, and she got the two limited cards with only 40 rolls (to be fair, better rates). That didn't translate to early varesa but chevruse+gaming c6 is what i really wanted from the banner.

Definitely annoyed by the existence of Effie (absolutely ridiculous Cryo/Hydro support in her V1, and I don't see that changing. If anything I expect her to be buffed) given that I want Skirk but can't afford both, especially considering:

That, or I have to give up on both of them, because I'm not pulling a premium support for a character I don't even care THAT much about, and if Skirk is completely dependent on her, I just won't get them.
 
Ok, the writers were clearly shitposting with the CoP’s Tribe Quest.

So you’re telling me that these idiots hear us say we ate a mushroom that then talked to us, went “Seems Legit” and decided to help us cook more mushrooms for us to totally not trip balls on, in an incredibly over the top fashion? Ending with a Mushroom Infestation coinciding with an Eating Competition, after we were definitely tripping balls?

I know once we’re past a regions Archon Quest the writing quality varies a lot, but good lord did they take the piss with this one - hell even in comparison to the other Tribe Quests this one felt like a shitpost.

I didn't do shit for this abyss cycle and only remembered it because of the new cycle notification. I have good characters, weapons, etc and still couldn't be bothered. That's how pointless abyss is.

Part of me kinda wondered if it would be possible to use on a burst-centric user like Ayaka given how her burst snapshots but getting a set to test that theory is a massive waste of resin, although I might end up with one anyway farming for Varesa and possibly Xiao if the plunge set ends up better than Vermillion Hereafter.
 
Dumped 50 pulls into Varesa's banner, saw the new 50/50 pity animation and she arrived, only to be immediately followed by another Varesa so now I've got her at C1 without intending to, thanks Hoyo.

Skirk getting a new set means she's not using blizz strayer so she won't be a freeze specialist. She should be a normal atk or burst dps. Once escoffie releases they should start the skirk beta and you can see how it ends.

That being said i glanced at Escoffie gameplay and i admit i was wrong cause i did not expect hoyo to release such a overloadead character.

-Skill has 15s cd 20s duration, particles are generated on cast so you can switch to battery your cryo dps
-Skill hits every second but also has non-standard internal cooldown, so she applies freeze every 2 hits instead of 3, making her a good cryo enabler and better than Citlali (who also has to deal with NS limits and 20s cd).
-Skill is simply dumb strong. 204% per second at level 9, autotarget and follows you. There is no downside to this skill whatsoever. At least emilie needs to ult and furina kills you.
-Ultimate has, for some reason, the strongest cryo single hit scaling in the entire game (1007%), a very strong group heal (almost twice as stronger than Xianyun) then 10 seconds of sustained healing. At 60 cost.
-You do'nt need only hydro+cryo for her passive to work, it just gets stronger, up to 55% hydro+cryo shred.

Did the star rail team design her kit? She's a better subdps than albedo, a better healer than kokomi and (for freeze) a better support than anemo units. Now i'm scared to how strong Skirk will be.
 
The EN VA drama continues, the old Kinich VA drops a statement confirming they are on strike and that's why they were recast.

The new VA posts on twitter (a) and is immediately dogpiled by other EN VA's for "stealing" the role, who forget that the dude lives and works in Japan and thus isn't bound by any SAG agreements or rules.

Other VAs are chimping out right now because they realize their days are now numbered because Hoyo has now firmly signaled their intention to go all in on non US VAs going forward, and if existing talent don't get back to work then they will be replaced and most fans don't give a shit because SAG has done a dogshit job with the strike.

They should use whatever studio Reverse 1999 uses (if they even use one). Their VAs are so good.
Fun fact: Cantarella can swim faster and depletes swimming stamina slower.
