So, if anyone has a need of horseshoes, I may or may not have some lucky ones around…

Think I'm going to be baited by Raiden even though I should really be saving for joomp boy kazuha.

Is this a game I can jump into now? Or have I missed the boat? I've finally have a device that can actually play it (an ipad) since it looks like the switch version is never coming out.

I barely missed Raiden the first time, but it's looking like I'm probably going to have to choose between her and Yae Miko unless I want to spend all of my wishes given how bad my luck is with the 50/50. And that's not even thinking about the banners after...

Yes and no, but if you don't jump in now it's only going to get worse later unless there's some significant tweaking done to how much of the game is locked behind your level (good luck completing events in areas you can't access). You're going to be doing a lot of catchup, as while you can obtain the new characters/weapons from the gacha like everyone else, the areas of the world you need to improve said characters/weapons are locked behind how far you've progressed through the plot. But if you like exploring and finding stuff, might as well give it a try.

Theoretically you have some decent options with the Starting, Tutorial characters, but yeah unless you rush the Story catch up to wherever the newest Materials are…

Yeah there’s a reason I don’t try to get my friends into Gacha games that’ve been out for too long.

Thats what I was worried about. I am always late to these gacha style games and am left playing catch up through all the old content. Maybe I'll just give it a miss. Thanks.

it is FOMO as fuck, the longer you wait, the more you'll have to catch up on, the more content you'll miss, and the more free gatcha wishes you'll miss. But that being said were only in the middle of chapter 3 of whats looking like its going to be an 8 chapter story in total. So the answer will always be jumping in now won't be as good as good as jumping in earlier, but it'll still be a heck of a lot better than jumping in later

Hmm. Reassessing my previous comment. Lol. Eh... It's free, I'll give it a go. If it clicks I'll catch up with everyone else. If not, it's 14 gig saved on the ipad

Should you decide the game isn't for you I'd recommend at least listening to the soundtrack as it's very good compared to the average gacha game.

don't forget all the free shit you missed in basically just that, free shit. nothing of it is really required for 97% of the game (and even the final 3% can still be done later on and is really the only thing that pushes you to roll for new shit). people will have more chars and weapons you don't have, but since it's a gatcha that will always be the case (and there will be a chance in the future to get at least those chars again anyway). so if you don't mind that it should be fine. if you wanna stick with it my only advice would be to ask, there are some trap options some more efficient paths (depending who you ask) which aren't obvious to new players or gatcha in general.

yae miko is gonna bleed me dry, and I still have my 50/50 coming up. I can already see getting qiqi'd or diluc c2, and then don't even have enough for fishbarb (or a kazuha rerun, but that depends how powercreeped he will be at that point). time to get red frog images ready...

seems they're done with inazuma for now, maybe ayato will come with a new landmass but I doubt it. means there's 3-4 patches left till we get to sumeru with 3.0 in september. wonder who people will take a new drought now that they're getting used to a new area every patch...

Ok. Like what?

don't spend primos on the standard banner (due to the pool), the weapon banner is only for whales, understand how pity works (at least every 10 rolls you get a 4*, at least every 90 you get a 5*, if you don't get a featured char on the banner you'll get one the next time you hit pity - either 1 of the 3 4* or the 5*), preferably only roll on the event banner if you're willing to get the 5* etc.

always burn your resin since leveling your world level is tied to that, level your main dps first since he'll do all the damage most of the time, spend resin in a way it makes most sense (like not on stuff at lvl39 when you would get more/better stuff on 40 asf., wait for the artifact grind till the very end), else enjoy the game.

So is Raiden worth pulling for? I passed the first time she came around but I'm wondering if she's a good investment since she's getting a rerun. I only have a handful of 5 stars (Venti, Keqing, Yoi, Kokomi, Itto) and every 4 star minus Sara. Seems like any team build I look into recommends using her, although I know you don't have to follow those for a good team. Does she even mesh well with any of my other 5s? Do you need several constellations on her for her to be good, or is she impressive at C0?

I was saving for Ayato, but his design is...eh. His kit would really have to wow me to get me to pull for him now. I have a guaranteed rate up ready to go, just wondering who to use it on.

Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennet, Raiden is one of the most busted teams in the game. She's also pretty much Eula's best support. I don't have her so I can't say for sure but I think for Kokomi or Yoimiya she would definitely give you some extra damage but isn't a must-have support for those.

if you don't do abyss you can roll on whatever has the most waifu appeal (in raiden's case 11/10, look up her sale numbers).
her c0 is fine, and she spikes pretty "cheap" at c3 (anything afterwards is much less improvement). you can also still get "her" 4* polearm via fishing, in return her 5* is pretty specific for her.

teamwise she's an incredible battery and burst buffer. can't remember itto but I think she should work with yoimiya (raiden's best partner is still eula). you can also run her with millelith for the easy mode attack buff. I don't run abyss so someone else would need to answer that.

I wouldn't look too much at 5 stars only, and in your case you'd have to use some 4 stars anyway (and probably want to since bennett/xingqiu are hard to beat). another thing to consider is that she's a support, so will get powercreeped much slower, and being an archon even less. and it depends how many primos/pity you have and you're ok to blow on raiden or want someone else down the line more (at which point you might already have enough primos again).
