It's less a mobile game and more a multiplatform game with a mobile version. Having a mobile version at all definitely adds to the retardation for sure, but I'm unsure if it'd be completely gone without a mobile version existing.
It’d still be a BOTW clone with a slot machine grafted on.

Sorry guys, can't complain about tit reductions because that makes you part of the problem with the community

Fun thread, OP. The age sperging to me is highly reminiscent of what people do with Pokémon characters. In that case though you can see people list ranges from like 12-18 for characters because most ages aren’t mentioned and you don’t wanna be a pedo so might as well push the age.

Are there any particular members of the community that stand out as vocal cows? I imagine there are some “voices of the community” that believe they know more than anyone else.

(like when you use Velstadt's helmet in the Fume Knight fight in DS2 to make it harder) or of the sort.
Kinda untrue. Using the helm does start him in the harder phase, but then you only have to remember a single pattern as opposed to two. I’ve seen a lot of people suggest just wearing the helm so you only have to practice for the second phase and not put up with inconsistencies in the phase switch or his sporadic patterns, but that’s an aside it’s still a neat concept.

The Han truly are the master race, look how they how they freak out over a children's phone game:

How can gweilo even compete?

I knew this fandom had potential to be funny when i asked someone why they play Genshin and their answer was
"All the cute Shotas."

Twitter/Tumblr is just a cesspool of egomaniacs, people with mental illness, social justice jerimiahs and people that haven't even existed for as long as the Xbox 360. This unholy quaternity invariably corrupts every thing that gains even an iota of mainstream popularity. Plus its a free to play anime mobile game its like a bat signal but for the socially stunted.
At this point it’s just Twitter that’s like this since the porn ban on Tumblr pretty much caused all the worst people on there to move to Twitter.

But it still is funny how these lunatics try to cancel the game and then still whale on it

It‘s the real life equivalent of angry fatasses shaming obese people while stuffing their face with funnel cakes.

I don't like "microtransactions" in games that much.

I don't think the game looks "racist". SJWs sure like to see problems where none exist.

(haven't played the game)
i've seen many go by without spending a cent. as long as it's not in your face and mostly cosmetic and earnable, I personally don't care. I know it's not like the good ole days where you can get outfits for free but in some cases, you gotta keep that f2p model afloat somehow.

Good thread OP, I knew Genshin would end up here someday with those “boycotts”. Like a random twitter user once said it’s amusing how western fans can find all those things to complain about while ignoring the fact this is a Chinese game, sure, who cares about the real life dictatorship? These fuckers better know we need more black people in the game.
It’s always hilarious how US-centric those types are. They’ll bitch and moan about “cultural appropriation”, then in the very next breath, start harassing east Asian companies to promote BLM.

I mean its understandable its engineered to be addicting especially for those with too much time and too much disposable income.

Gacha games are built for retards with too much money, the only difference is the type of retards they target.
Games with the name of a beloved classic franchise target nostalgiafags, brand ones target consoomers like DSP, and original ones target coomers or fujoshis.

Cant wait for the licensed Ben Ten Alien Infinity Realm of the Omnitrix with the 17 Ex-Girlfriends© gacha so I can waste my life savings on something I can actually feel invested in.

Following up from my previous post. Rather than painstakingly going through several dozen old twitter threads and subjecting myself to autistic brainrot, I'll just share these because it sums things up rather nicely.

Here was the response from the official Genshin twitter account. (archive though I seriously doubt it's getting deleted anytime soon)

1.png

If you go through the thread, you'll notice a lot of people demanding for 2FA to be added and being outraged over game leakers getting attention instead. This is also a whole mass of rage and its own can of worms, so I'll save that discussion for another time. Just keep it in mind for the future.

One tweet in the replies contains the following video that highlights how the Genshin leakers responded. Basically they all pasted jailbars over their profile pics and made jokes to the effect of "Oh no I'm going to jail! I posted unfair Genshin Impact content! Teehee! ;P"
(I'll note that I've left this as is strictly for archive purposes, but I highly recommend that you mute it.)

Every single one of those twitter accounts that are still active are great places to go if you want to follow drama related to leaks.

Here's a tweet made by AE Entropy (archive), a prominent "leaker" who is one of many that just lifts their content from Chinese social media and other leakers.
Note that at the time of writing, they still have a joke referencing the incident in their twitter bio. Also take note of how many twitter followers you can get just from swiping upcoming waifus from the Chinese and dangling them over the heads of horny Genshin fans like a carrot on a stick!

2.png

Final thing I'll point out from this thread since it's a great example and happened to be right there: Genshin leakers are extremely possessive over their drip fed content they steal and release, and often are at each other's throats over who gets credit for leaking the waifu first.

Two notable leakers that happened to be mentioned above, Dimbreath and Lumie, fall under the "shady beta access" category. Both regularly datamine and reverse engineer both current game versions and beta builds to get ahold of the anime waifus earlier than everyone else.
Lumie in particular typically mines character models, watermarks the images and will tweet shit like this to tease the 250k waifu simps that currently follow their account.

Related to the thread but was there not a Chinese player who attempted to kill the CEO of Mihoyo on their HQ? If so, the game was truly a mistake.
