There were some fun limited time minigame events and some limited time story mode quests. Standard video game stuff. Also you missed like three other countries if it was years.
Also this song (which I just checked the comments of and one of the top ones was "genshin twitter poster theme" lmao they had the same idea I did)

Speaking of this, since there's clearly some overlap between r/GamingCirclejerk and the Genshin fanbase, on their subreddit pins, they're brigading the Zenless Zone Zero subreddits (Another Mihoyo game) to downvote and report people who dare to say that their moderation is so out of line that they'll literally ban game screenshots and official game marketing material. They're of course twisting the truth to make it about "muh hecking pedophiles" again.

This is literally a pinned post on their Subreddit, it's clear what the intent is:

Like out of all of my time seeing the Genshin fanbase on Twitter, I've seen more outwardly woke retards crying over Mihoyo doing things and yet still paying for microtransactions anyways, and the vast amount of toxic shippers, than I have seen lolicons. I've even seen some people on Discord wish death on Tectone and say that this boycott somehow has merit. They clearly never learned a lesson from the 3 Wishes boycott, where 3 million Chinese players dropped the game and yet Mihoyo still did nothing. This fanbase deserves to be mogged on by Tectone and Hero Hei for the rest of eternity.
 
I love how those nigger-lovers will never win against the Chinese. Even though mihoyo/hoyoverse are degenerate Japanophiles, they won't yield to the deranged mobs like the Japacucks do. Firm and resolute like the strongest Chinese bamboo.
 
Encouraging the leagues of teenagers too socially incompetent to buy anything in person to boycott Amazon is an interesting strategy. Some of these replies are fucking hysterical.

I've always disliked the type of person that cries (or acts overly sentimental in general) on the internet. The people behind the screen don't care, and even if they did, they can't do amything about it because they lack the physical presence needed to make a difference, this is either attention-seeking, desperately searching for pity, or a lack of social connections so profound that they are unable to even call a friend and tell them of their problems. Horrible all-around
