Holy shit not even pitched up LMAO
"Why do they make us wear these ridiculous ties?"
I said pitched up because its's just ever so slightly different enough. A lot of the lines like that ARE just expository dialogue, but I'm wondering if the cutscene screams are anything like the "low HP 1 "sci-pain esque "AUCH!"

He's on shrooms constantly.
I don't think a guy in his professsion would be on shrooms constantly.

Honestly i think this new voice fits the guy pretty ok even with the kleiner-esque delivery of some lines.

I don't think I've known any other fandom that hates their source material as much as Genshin fans.
It's got the same vibe as the shit that started and still currently is surrounding homestuck where you can tell almost none of them actually really engaged witht he source material in a meaningful way. They just woobify or sexualize the characters of some popular thing while calling shit associated with the source material secretly racist or discriminatory towards some minority.

This shit's happened with every other popular piece of media the past decade or so, Pizza tower is another really funny example of this kinda shit because it's literally a fucking easy to understand simple plot kinda game where a stereotypical Italian man runs through a series of wacky funny nonsense levels of a tower to stop a pizza guy that claimed he was gonna blow up his restaurant.

How does this happen, by the way?

You'll have posters slowly appear in fandoms that plaster their "headcanon" onto said characters and have never played the game/watched the media/read the book.

How do they even find these characters? Twitter, I guess?

It's a cancer that began in some fucking part of tumblr in the early 2010s but metastasized and went full blown cancer once it began spreading to bigger sites during the mid 2010s cross breeding with the pretentious fucking eggheaded mindsets of twitter and reddit. Sometimes they use fancy fucking terms to justify their shit headcanons as canon or why the creator of the thing is a super bad meanie and probably a Nazi. It gets worse because there are also people that 100% did engage with the source material acting like this for socio-political clout, sometimes the fucking people in charge of things too in the worst case scenarios.

What we got nowadays is sort of a bizzaro world version of that one kid you may or may not have known in school back in the early 2000s that thought crashman from megaman was gay because they saw that one specific popular flash cartoon meme based on one of those goofy Japanese parody songs and never fucking touched the games. It's now adults writing boring as fuck 3 hour long video essays about how crash man is "queer coded" and capcom are oppressing them by having megaman kill him instead of fucking him in his ass. They do this not for a genuine belief they hold, but for clout.

Do you really need an answer after what Chris did with Sonichu?
It's actually something a little bit different than Sonichu, though there ARE fuckers like this with chris chan and Sonichu in terms of followings too.

from what i can tell from watching these fandoms (overwatch, genshin, homestuck, etc.) sjw jrs will latch onto certain properties, but once they hear their peers whining about them being "offensive" they go ahead and draw shitty art to try and look as if they arent problematic for liking them.

People will like the concepts behind the characters and behind the lore, but despise the execution for being too "problematic" or "offensive", and oftentimes the execution isn't either of those things-- a popular fan just hated it and everyone scrambled for reasons to justify that hate.
With Genshin this can be seen with a lot of the new 3.0 characters, people will like the ideas behind them but think Mihoyo is racist for how they designed/executed their story and lore. Everyone uses the same reasons for hating Dori ("Orientalist", "Lolibait", "Racist") because it's 'Cool' to hate her, or because it's effective as a sort of status symbol that makes you 'more moral' than other Genshin fans.
If a character isn't a fandom hatesink, they'll just be headcanoned into something barely recognizable so they can be more palatable or quirky. People will latch onto a headcanoned version of a character, and won't play the game because they're not interested in what the canon has to say or have some sort of 'moral opposition' to playing. In Genshin, this happens quite often to the Fatui-- If you look up Dottore on tumblr or twitter, he's woobified beyond recognition. It happens to Scaramouche/Childe/Signora in similar amounts, but there's at least some canon to work with for them, whereas Dottore has essentially done nothing but torture children.

I think most of this behavior is mob/socially-driven in order to be accepted by one's peers. That doesn't make it any less annoying, though.

It somewhat originated with Homestuck, but it didn't really get THIS bad until homestuck ended in 2016 (cue 'now that homestuck is over here's how much i hated xyz yadda yadda') and Voltron: Legendary Defender blew up. That series and the godawful fandom it had was sort of a creation myth for a majority of the worsening fan behavior in the 2020s.

If this character was drawn fat or a different race, I just know most of these twitter users would be treating it like a masterpiece.
That's quite vanilla as far as anime tits go. Gigabytes of way worse new shit enters the internet weekly. And that's before we take furries into equasion. What's their major malfunction?

Any fandom with a shit reputation can trace it back to Homestuck. Truly the scourge of the world.

Someone complains about not being paid for his roles. He voices Kazuha's old friend and blue oni guy from Itto's story quest.

Apparently, Paimon EN VA also has the same problem. Good lord, struggling to pay rent.

Only these two have spoken about this, not sure what if any others having the same problem.

Edit: It seems the problem comes from with third party management on dubbing, Formosa Group. They were or maybe still in Sag Aftra list, which explains why people asking for union thing.
