Jannetty's my boy and I don't feel like he ever got his due. His tag partner going on to be a generational star didn't hurt him as bad as he hurt himself. He was a great wrestler to watch but couldn't stay off dope and stay out of trouble long enough to really do something impactful post-Rockers. Jannetty was one of those guys who would've benefitted from going to a different country to wrestle in the 90s but realisically he would've ended up on a bad side of a drug deal with foreign mobsters and would end up at the bottom of a lake somewhere.
Marty was the one that they expected to be the big star coming out of the Rockers breakup, but his addictions and general bad judgment ruined it all.

Marty Jannetty....still can't walk.

it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO fucking funning watching vintage AWA on ESPN 5.23*10^25 when they'd go nuts about OH HOLY SHIT IT'S THE ROCKERS HOLD ON TO YOUR DICKS THAT'S RIGHT MARTY FUCKING JANETTY IS HERE THE ROCKERS ARE IN THE HOUSE oh yeah that shawn kid is also around I guess

i hope we get a better developer and publisher who actually cares about the product.

WWE did re-sign their games deal with 2K a few years ago, and I don't remember how long the partnership is for. And even if WWE decides to end the 2K deal early, other companies that make Sports games, i.e. EA, or even Konami if you count eFootball, also have their own issues, and WWE's demands for annual games means that a game under a new company will be unpolished from the start, and for the next several 5-8 iterations, assuming that the partnership lasts for that long.

i think the new devs would be able to have access to the stuff from THQ or 2K itself, it wouldnt take 5-8 games to make the product polished or look good.

hasn't that basically literally never happened ever?

When Yukes cut ties with 2K during the development of WWE 2K20, Visual Concepts had to take over development of the game, and they couldn't just use the existing code in development, I think. They ended reverting back a codebase from 2K18, and had only a few or so months to get the game out, and we all know what ended up happening with THAT game.

It's a shame that CMLLs sound techs are so shit because they missed out on an all time great entrance with the live performance of Misticos song from a couple of days ago.

The cell phone footage from fans is insane. It's one of the loudest crowds I've ever heard. They almost completely drown out the singer but it still worked because everyone in the building is singing along with every single word anyway.

I've never heard that.

The story I had heard was that Vince had proposed breaking them up and Shawn was like 'hell yeah' and Marty was like 'uhhh, I object.'
Multiple sources confirmed it long ago, including Bobby Heenan. It was believed that Marty’s talent and him being closer to the size of most of the top stars, along with the crowd response The Rockers got would translate to Marty being a main-eventer once the split happened. That was why Michaels was made the heel in the breakup.
