They actually had him beating up fake security guards and referees this week. Rusev might be a job guy but he had a four way last week with Penta, Ethan Page and Jevon Evans and it was a great match. Everybody was able to get their shit in, including Rusev who was doing the big guy power moves but also doing the athletic high spots.
He and Page picked up the W and a new bad guy alliance has been formed. I think what they're doing with Ethan and Rusev alluding to their past and aew is much more interesting than "Dancing nigger squashes nobodies in under a minute because he doesn't know any moves".

Now that you mentioned it, I've been running it back and realized... 99% of Oba's matches in NXT were triple threats where he was carried. It's easier to count the times he wasn't in multi-man matches, and in most of his singles he was against smaller and more skilled opponents that bumped like motherfuckers for him (Dragon Lee in Oba's debut, Ricky Starks) or had so much bullshit shenanigans it was barely a match (Vs Tony D'Angelo and the entire supporting cast of the Sopranos so Oba could drop the NA title, which hasn't been the same since.)

I've never seen him in NXT because I would only watch the Joshi matches, then after that just the Sol Ruca matches, and I honestly thought that I was missing something because he must have been better in NXT. You have basically confirmed to me that he has always been this bad.
He's not good, objectively. He's the Nig Show. The Black Khali. He's a guy who obviously got his spot because he's 6 foot 6 and has a decent looking body, not even a great body just a decent one because he has a fat dad belly, and he used to be a shot putter.
Fucking so what? Brock Lesnar's daughter is a shot putter, too. They going to sign her ugly ass to a contract as well? I can't believe they waste time on this and idiots lap it up. Oba Femi is so fucking bad that I take back all the negative shit I said about Vaquer.
That woman might have come straight out of NXT pushed way too hard, but she's fucking ASUKA level talented when compared to Oba Femi.

Considering how much of Pro Wrestling is built upon Nepotism, probably?

As for Oba Femi, he's the classic case of "you can't teach big". Is he going to put on a 5* Match or give an amazing promo, fuck no, but that's not his role - his role is to be the big powerful motherfucker that the plucky underdog type needs to overcome. Are there better people on the roster for this, probably, but considering it's an act thats ceiling is midcard at best once people cool on him, I can't bring myself to hate on him for it.

I'm guessing that's a cultural thing. People in Japan really hate when their favorite celeb isn't forever single and attainable. It's always talked about with idols but I'm sure joshi's get their fair share of creeps.

She doesn't even need the WWE money, she's got quite the business empire and investment portfolio, and has said that she mainly went to WWE just to say she did.

Watch some of her YouTube videos where she goes shopping, especially the one where she buys appliances for the house she had built in Japan, she drops tens of thousands without blinking. When she moved to Florida, she bought a brand new Lexus outright and made a video about how hilarious it was that the dealership didn't know if they could just take a check for the full amount or if they needed a wire transfer.

Joshi are totally treated like idols, right down to the mandatory photo-ops and handshake lines. Watch the Vice documentary series The Wrestlers' episode on Stardom. Rossy didn't make bank as a wrestling promoter, he made it using the idol formula and selling handshakes, posters, photobooks and merch. Shit, there's even a lingerie photobook of Starlight Kid in which she shows a lot of skin, but always keeps the mask on!

Kana is one of those women that are self-made. She didn't use mommy and daddy's money to make her fortune, she invested wisely and even promoted her own shows where she was the booker, hence the Suzuki match where she almost got beat to death lol.
I'm glad to see her enjoy that money because she earned every penny of it. Or every yen of it. :lol:

She started her own promotion because she got tired of being screwed over by promoters, and she taught a few other people how to set up and run a promotion. She is the one who encouraged Shida to start GAIRA, which is one of the coolest concepts ever, kabuki theatre mixed with pro wrestling.

Kana is the definition of badass, and what WWE did to her on the main roster was a fucking disgrace.

Also, watch Vacquer's work in Mexico and the AEW matches she had before WWE. The problem isn't her, it is that most WWE women can't work at anything but the training-wheels level, and she can't downshift enough. More developmental time may have been needed, but at the same time, she was an elite-level worker outside of the WWE system and management also wanted to cash in on the headlines of snatching her up in the bidding war.

His gimmick is "you bump for me while I look fat with tits bigger than most women's". For a guy that's been wrestling for almost half a decade he's terrible. Fucker buried all of NXT and debuted with a competitive match against Cody so you just know the future is dark, bleak and has a hilarious accent.

I want to formally apologize to Vaquer for saying she had no in ring ability. I actually watched some of her older stuff and I realized that she got the "Iyo treatment" where they are holding her back to the level of beginner.
I still think she sucks on the mic and her ram horns look stupid, but I respect her wrestling ability.

The thing about Oba is he's not made for wrestling. Do I think I could kick his ass in a fight? Hell no, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he's a good wrestler. I've always been extremely bored of "Big guy is big but can't wrestle for shit" wrestlers.
Don't waste my time with that bullshit. Liv Morgan playing up being an annoying little spoiled cunt from New Jersey is way more entertaining than nigger squash matches. Out of all the champions right now, Liv is my favourite. Romans title reign has been kind of stale and fuck Rhea, and QB1 (cringe nickname) is just boring but it's half creative's fault and half his fault for not turning heel.
At least Liv is amusing and funny and makes you like her despite being a trashy bitch. There is nothing funnier to me than the face that Liv makes when she knows she fucked up and is about to get laid out in the ring. She holds on to the ropes for dear life and screams NO NO NO and for me that's 10 times more entertaining than THIS IS MY BRUTALITYYYYY!
 
The horns Vacquer wears are a reference to her nickname that WWE won't let her use, The Queen of Hell. She should probably drop them, but they're already making the action figures, and yes, as moronic as that is, WWE will not let a wrestler change their look or style of gear without approval, and approval depends on the merch pipeline.

As to the promos, WWE should bring back managers where people aren't good talkers, but considering TKO is even stingier than Vince was, that's highly unlikely. Sadly, this leaves people like Vacquer and some of their Japanese talents in a bad spot if their English isn't great. Add in scripted promos, likely sometimes delivered phonetically, and you have a recipe for horrible promos.

there was a bit more I think they could have gotten out of him Rain Manning his graps but yeah a good one-note joke needs to be played carefully

I remember being at a house show early Eugene run. Two big bikers (think Bam Bam Bigelow with hair) are sitting in the seats below me. Eugene music hits and these two dudes look at each other with the biggest smiles and scream "EUGENE!"

Everybody knows it sucked now, but never let people forget that shit was so over Triple H wrestled him at Summerslam.

Pretty sad when I pop harder for a fan made Cody heel entrance song than his two year title reign. Don't get me wrong, I am a tremendous Cody advocate and I have been for years, but this QB1 shit is for the birds.
I listen to the song and I listen to the lyrics and I'm like oh my God this is IT. This is what he needs to do. He needs to be an evil homelander mother fucker with his badass Brandi on his side making the crowd love to hate him.

I totally predicted that Cody would end up turning the fans against him in WWE the same way he did in AEW. He makes his father's ego look reasonable by comparison with his idiotic insistence on remaining babyface when he has lost the crowds.
