Please no, is there anyone (except the Saudis) who would even want to see this? Taker already spent half a decade longer than he should've wrestling, he's had both his hips and knees replaced. I know that he said that Gunter would be the one guy he would want to wrestle but the chance of it ending up going well is very unlikely, just let the old guy rest.

Come on Saudi, if you're going open the checkbook for Mean Mark, you can at least get Real Estate Steve off the bench too

Taker has been dogshit for a decade plus at this stage and was only ever mediocre at best anyway. He has the character and the whole aura down maybe as well as anyone has ever done it but literally no ones favourite match in the history of wrestling fandom featured Taker as one of the participants.

Not even Hell in the Cell vs Foley?

You’re gonna take this as a compliment, but this take is incredibly out of touch with the casual WWE fan.

This story has gone from
- Andrade left, which makes it sound like it was his choice
- Andrade did not leave but also was not released because released in WWE means you still get paid for 30 or 90 days and WWE just tells you after that time we’re no longer gonna use you
- then came creative and booking differences in a report from bodyslam.net
- Then he wasn’t showing up for work and he wasn’t answering phone calls
- then came Dave Meltzer saying that there was disciplinary action against him and he was sent home
- now seemingly filling in what that disciplinary action was we’re being told it was wellness policy or the wellness policy was unrelated and he had that on top of some other disciplinary action that got him sent home.

This dude story just has gotten progressively worse. It’s gone from he left on his own too. He was fired for wellness policy, not showing up for work and not answering his phone.

I recall the term X-Pac heat getting thrown around a lot when he had the X-Factor group in the Invasion era. He was supposed to be a face because he was on team WWF, but everyone booed him because they hated him.

It absolutely could have been used earlier than that, that's just when I remember it becoming a popular term online.
I would make the arrangement that it was his feud with Kane that set the wheels in motion. That feud went on way longer than it had any right to, it lasted from fall 99 to WM 2000, I remember being checked out of it as it went on.

Sadly this is the most interest Andrade will ever generate in the US.

Benefit show for Jeff Cannonball right now live on YouTube and the most obviously trans wrestler ever just came out. Named Bessy(?).

Geoffrey the Giraffe and ALF just had a stare down then a guy got so stuck in the ropes it took two minutes to get his leg free from the very tight ropes as the camera most of the time just showed the Giraffe walking around but have no fear Geoffrey won and is the inaugural Jeff Cannonball King of Ugly champion.

I always thought Sherri Martel was underrated. She had just the right definition. I remember her first night in WCW being interviewed by Mean Gene on Saturday Night. Mean Gene was having the time of his life with her lol.

This is a 40 something Sherri Martel in WCW. Sherri was gorgeous, and was great with whomever they paired her with. Still think her version of Shawn Michaels entrance theme is the best.

I have to say the WCW Youtube channel is absolutely spectacular.
I really like the WWE vault channel. I’ll take a bit of wrestling nerd shit I can get. A lot of it isn’t much, and the actual juicy shit they have recorded backstage we will NEVER see but I love getting even just glimpses and dark matches and shit.

My favorite thing so far is they uploaded Doring and Roadkill vs FBI in a 2001 MSG dark match. Maybe it was a rib, I struggle to think Paul Heyman wouldn’t have known that this was bad advice, but he told all 4 guys that they needed to impress the people in the back and apparently his exact wording was go out there and have an ECW match. So they went out, before RAW, they do 5 minutes of whatever they know how to do, at one point roadkill who is fucking gigantic hit a Vader splash on Tony and he roles out maybe 6 seconds later to tag in Guido while Roadkill is looking away for no fucking reason because they just need the right people in there to do whatever moves they want to do. They do a Heart Attack. They do some weird ass top rope Russian leg sweep. Weird twisting reverse DDTs off the second rope. They just full on do moves and it doesn’t look like much from today’s standards but by the hot tag the crowd is genuinely watching and clapping along and reacting to every move and all of this sounds great for wrestling but terrible for what Vince McMahon wants out of a dark match. Apparently the Heart Attack specifically made people mad cause it had been a finish previously in the WWF.

Pretty interesting idea from Bully Ray on this morning's Busted Open.

Basically he says since WM is in Saudi in 2027, AEW should hold a show in the states the same day. Bully says it should be free as well basically a goodwill to gesture to wrestling fans. I would say the PPV should be free but charge something for tickets.

I think it would be interesting to play into the fact WWE only cares about money and not the fans. The only issue I have is most of the AEW roster is a joke, but if he could actually get some real talent who's not signed with WWE it could be interesting.

This could actually be a chance an actual reboot for the company because I think SaudiMania is going to turn alot of people off. But knowing TK he'll likely book the main event of Wheeler Yuta vs Jack Perry and no one will care.

Did anybody else think Goldberg vs Regal was a banger? I love snug matches man. No chairs, no thumbtacks, no bullshit, just a straight wrestling match.

It's an all around stupid idea.

Similar to how pre 97 WCW only appealed to WCW fans, AEW only appeals to AEW fans. Putting on their own Clash Of The Champions isn't going to move the needle compared to Wrestlemania.

There's an actual opening to target the masses and give families the opportunity to see a live event without mortgaging their house but that would require Tony to surrender the book, check his ego at the door and keep the gore to PPV blow offs.

I agree on Tony surrendering the book. But this is something he could use to draw in more people.

He's likely spent more on Mercedes, Moxley, Yuta, Cutler, Garcia, Speedball, Luther, Sammy/his Wife, Brit Baker, Okada, and all the other non drawing or sent home talent's salary then it would cost him to do this.

Who is there out there worth snagging, or are we just talking in a general hypothetical?
Seems to me Danielson and Punk would have been the only "needle movers" of note for AEW. Tony bungled both of those. Short of the Rock or Vince McMahon himself showing up, I can't possibly see who they could get now that anyone would give a damn about.

It’s interesting to listen to guys like RVD who talk about the fact that he would be on spike TV every single week and he would go to the airport and people would run up to them and be like Rob holy fuck. I love you. I miss when you used to wrestle. When are you coming back? Are you done wrestling? Outside of WWE in America it truly is hard to even just get the word out there if it’s not some otherworldly unthinkable jump ship like Roman, which will never happen but like if it’s not that level nobody even notices. Another issue is there’s a lot of fans out there that when they say they want to see you come back or they want to see you in wrestling. They mean they want to see you on the WWE shows that they already watch. There’s a giant portion of fans who know exactly where to find Daniel Bryan and Edge and Sasha Banks but don’t give a fuck about the existence of Bryan Danielson, Cope and Mercedes Mone. Tony also already blew his load hard on debuts, he was basically a debut company for a few years.

Putting all that together: nobody will hear about it, the few who do will just say shame he left the show I like and he’s already signed every big name he’ll ever get, there truly is nobody left to move any sort of needle.
Basically he says since WM is in Saudi in 2027, AEW should hold a show in the states the same day. Bully says it should be free as well basically a goodwill to gesture to wrestling fans. I would say the PPV should be free but charge something for tickets.
The issue is if you do it against wrestlemania you’re doing it against wrestlemania. It’s fucking wrestlemania. Regardless of how much people cry about where it is they’re going to watch and they’re going to talk about it or they’re gonna not watch and pretend that they’re boycotting, but they’re still gonna follow along every single second online and all of the headlines and all of Twitter and everything will just be completely dominated because it’s wrestle fucking mania the other issue is that WWE he has shown zero fear of basing their entire schedule around AEW and just fucking AEW. So if you were to try and say hey, we’re giving you the big American pay-per-view in February. We’re not gonna flat out say it because we can’t but you all know we are taking the place of wrestlemania this year because wrestlemania ran away from America ran away from the fans. WWE would just then also put a stadium show on that day. WWE would just counter program them with bigger names and do a bigger show.

Basically, if you write it down on paper, Tony does a make good for the fans of America and gives them a stadium show in a year WWE has taken wrestlemania out of America it sounds fucking awesome. It sounds like the perfect shot against WWE but if you actually factor in the real world, and the fact that none of the people crying about wrestlemania are actually gonna boycott wrestlemania then you’ll realize he would just be shouting into the ether. You realize if he did it on any other day, he would just be putting a target on his back saying hey WWE come and get me and you realize there really is no great way for Tony to go about this.

TLDR: WWE will continue to get more and more Jewish and you’d think it could benefit AEW but we’re basically in a landscape where AEW is fucked regardless and WWE fans are fucked price and Saudi wise and will just deal with it.
