A meeting of two behemoths, two larger than life world beaters. What a time to be a wrestling fan

A mexican who's gimmick is a viking, a german wrestling as an american patriot who speaks spanish, a half-breed and a mexican LARPing as an east asian.

Wrestling is so fun, redditsisters...

I’ll keep saying it - Wrestling is at its best when it’s not taking itself super seriously, and just accepts that its fucking dumb.

You shouldn’t completely lean into that, that way lies things becoming farcical, but acknowledging that Wrestling is Fucking Dumb will get more eyes than the “Super Serious Ultra Technical Flippy Shit” people like Meltzer or -insert any WrestleTuber- shill for.

Vikingo pins Dom off AJ Styles interference.

Also WWE only know one lucha gimmick which is loaded mask, El Grande loaded his mask and it failed for Dom to then put on an unrelated loaded mask and collide with El Grande but now El Grandes loaded mask no longer worked I guess Dom canceled his out lol.

I was sports-entertained, and i'm excited for AAA's future.

On another note, with Worlds Collide being a regular thing, why aren't they including TNA? There's enough history between the promotions that it makes sense.

*Another edit to avoid doublepost*

I'm not up on AAA lore, why was the audience booing THE DICK off of Vikingo? He got a stronger reaction than every heel did.

iirc cubsfan said AAA tv has been putting over Alberto as a face and Vikingo sorta fell into heel

it was okay
I've seen duller Triplemanias
very noticeable lack of blood

They chanted for Alberto Del Rio during Mysterios promo. Basically Del Rio is royalty because of his father. Del Rio had a year long storyline going, who’s controlling the company whole big feud JBL was involved factions involved. Then WWE buys AAA. All of a sudden because guys like Konan and Rey and them tell HHH Vikingo is the future he decides well fuck it why not just make him the right now. Del Rio while being champion has his entire story just fucking ignored or loosely sped through so the belt can get on Vikingo so now despite being heel the crowd is thinking HEY HOLD ON WE’VE BEEN WATCHING THIS WE ARE INVESTED IN THIS STORYLINE AND WE LIKE ALBERTO but WWE has moved on because reportedly they don’t even want Del Rio at all in any of their companies. So he drops the belt to the hand picked and rushed Vikingo and then loses his career as well. While Vikingo just keeps on keeping on. Basically whoever was put in Vikingo’s spot was doomed as a baby face but sometimes WWE is too stupid to recognize that before it happens so now we’re in this position. Last show Vikingo was kind of heel ish in his promo but I’m not sure they’ve fully turned him or have any intention to do so, so we’re just here now. Mysterio did tell the Crowd tonight he’d bring them El Patron back, so either he went into business for himself or something has changed.

I'll go a step further: having WWE/NXT, AAA and TNA working together to some capacity is a good excuse to bring back the X-Cup World Series.

Hijo del Vikingo is considered overpushed compared to his ability and the fact that until recently he seemed to be made of glass and got hurt doing routine flippy shit.

Fun show. Finn Balor was the highlight of the night. As much as Natalya wants to pout, she really has lost a major step in the ring.

Explaining the Viking hate lore. Alberto was getting massive hate from the fans earlier this year. This was because they felt Alberto was overpushed. Now, to be fair to Konnan, AAA was deemed toxic by Tony Khan and CMLL, so no one was willing to work with AAA unless you had nowhere else to go, or you were doing one shots. So Konnan had to push Alberto because Vikingo was constantly injured, or Konnan was worried as soon as Vikingo has the title he’s gonna jump.

WWE buys majority AAA, and naturally AAA fans ask what is going to happen to Alberto. Fans realize he is getting dropped and he is dropping the title to Vikingo. They felt it was unfair and Alberto should have stayed, so that heat got transferred to Vikingo. On top of that, his personality as a face is quite dull compared to Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr. or Psycho Clown. Then add the phenomenon that is El Grande Americano, who the audience loves, and a returning prince in Dominik Mysterio. It was bound to happen.

Now, will AAA pivot is the question. It would be easy to turn him heel, but AAA is still building up babyfaces so his opponent list is quite short, even as a babyface.

Oh no. They devalued the G1 for a second year in a row by having the person not want the title match at the Tokyo Dome. According to English commentary Take says that he wants to walk into the dome as champion and walk out as champion so he’s at some point going to have his title match before the dome. If that title match ends up happening on an AEW show, it will be quite literally the funniest thing to ever happen to New Japan.
